Lorraine and Delphine Sizzle in Atomic Blonde (2017) Movie

Lorraine and Delphine sizzle as a couple in the lesbian interest movie Atomic Blonde (2017) starring Charlize Theron as Lorraine and Sofia Boutella as Delphine.

Delphine asks Lorraine to join her at a club the next night and Lorraine looking for information goes along. Delphine is ready and waiting with a Dirty on the Rocks and a burning question. 

Delphine: I didn't think that you would show.

Delphine: It's Stoli on the Rocks?

Lorraine: You pay attention.

Delphine: I look for pleasure in the details.

Delphine: I've been dying to ask you a question [kissing Lorraine]

Delphine: Let's go someplace quiet!

Lorraine is not sure who she can trust. When she and Delphine start kissing at the club and she finds that Delphine has a gun she naturally wants answers.

Dino and Kate from Around the Block Movie (2013)

Dino (Christina Ricci)  is a high school drama teacher from California who takes up a job teaching predominantly aboriginal kids in Redfern, Sydney, Australia. She encourages them to perform the play Hamlet.

Dino is in a straight relationship but finds herself constantly yearning for the relationship she had with Kate (Andrea Demetriades) five years earlier. 

Dino drives by Kate’s workplace and catches glimpses of Kate but struggles to find the courage to go and speak with her. When she breaks up with her BF she goes to a dyke bar and picks up Hannah (Ruby Rose) for a one-night-stand. 

The next day Dino tells Kate that she knows what they had was real and she wants to reconcile.  

Kate, however, reminds her that what they shared was five years ago.  Dino challenges her with 

Dino:  Just tell me you don't feel it anymore and I'll walk away.

Kate:  I chose to stop feeling it.

This is a happy ending story so while we don’t specifically see girl get girl what we do get is an understated ending showing Kate turning up to the play and Dino and Kate sharing a moment at the end of the movie implying of course that it is all back on between them.

Elise and Eryka - A Love Story

Elise and Eryka are LGBT interest  /  lesbian interest characters in the UK TV series The Tunnel Sabotage S2 (2016) starring Clémence Poésy as Elise and Laura de Boer as Eryka. 

Elise, a commander with the French police is investigating a plane crash. Eryka is the only passenger who failed to board the flight. Despite being under suspicion Elise forms a connection with Eryka who has also experienced the loss of a twin at an early age.

Mia and Danni Australian Lesbian Interest Movie Couple

Mia and Danni hit the big screen back in 1996 in the indie Australian lesbian interest movie Love and Other Catastrophes. 

Starring Frances O’Connor as Mia and Radha Mitchell as Danni. 

I thought it was about time that I brought them back from relative obscurity given that there is a whole generation who may not have seen them before so I created a highlights video of the best parts of their story.

Holly and Karen UK TV Lesbian Couple

Lesbian couple Holly and Karen are in love in the UK TV show True Love (2012) but there is just one problem Holly is Karen’s teacher.

Somewhat aimless in life and unfulfilled as a teacher Holly (Billie Piper) dreams of travelling again. She finds connection, friendship and love with her insightful student Karen (Kaya Scodelario from Skins) who is majorly crushing on her.

It starts with a kiss but pretty soon they are sleeping together. Unfortunately for the lovers it doesn’t take long for the rest of the class to figure out that they are having a relationship.

Elmira and Trish Australian Lesbian Movie Couple

In the Australian movie All About E Elmira and Trish are in love but not all runs smoothly for the couple in this lesbian interest storyline because of cultural differences and levels of maturity. 

Trish challenges Elmira (known as E) about coming out to her family but E feels ashamed and tries to hide who she is from them. 

E makes the fatal relationship mistake of sleeping with someone else and things go downhill from there.

Fast forward a year and E and her gay pal Matt are on the run having inadvertently found a stash of money belonging to Johnny the boss at the nightclub where E is a DJ.

After exhausting all possibilities of places to hide E eventually goes to Trish for help. Trish agrees to let them stay for a couple of days on her farm in the Australian outback.

It is an opportunity for the couple to get back on track and after reconnecting it looks like they might. Unfortunately Johnny who leaves no stone unturned figures out where they are and comes after them.

E has to then decide what is more important to her the money or reconciling with the woman she loves.

Zara and Eve - Australian Lesbian TV Couple

Zara and Eve are two LGBTQ+ characters from the Australian TV show called It's a Date (2013).  While attracted to each other they struggle to find any common ground during their blind date.

However later in the date Eve admits she does not have the confidence to enter The Voice and the couple wind up in the "girl's dunnies" (that's Australian for bathroom) singing Burn for You.

Mutual respect, an apology and a couple of kisses grow from there. They reach a decision point to go their separate ways or continue the date.

For this couple there is no bury the gays ending thank goodness. But equally they don't go off hand-in-hand into the sunset either. Instead they make an adult choice to acknowledge they are both "great" people but a "different kind of great."

Layla and Jackie Australian TV Couple

Layla and Jackie are two LGBTQ+ characters from the Australian TV show called Kick.  While Layla and Jackie appeared on our screens more than a decade ago (2007) their storyline is a strong one and with wide appeal which is why I have been uploading it to my YouTube channel.  

The basic story is that the couple fall for each other but family expectations for Layla prevent them from being out about their relationship. Things come to a head when Jackie attends Layla’s engagement party and afterwards gives Layla an ultimatum: be true to yourself or choose to bow to family demands and we are through. 

Jackie: Ever had a girlfriend?

Layla: No.

Jackie: Would you like a girlfriend?

Layla: Oh why? Do you know where I can get one?

What makes this different from other stories with the same or similar trope is that Layla finds the middle ground: neither giving into Jackie’s demands but also figuring out what she wants.  I am happy to report it all works out in the wash for this couple, who are very cute together by the way, They go on to have one of those rare things in the history of lesbian film - a happy ending.

Rachel and Sid Lesbian UK TV Couple

One of the more popular couples on my YouTube channel has been the love story between Rachel and Sid.  Set in the midst of WWII Sid drives an ambulance in London while Rachel lives at home in the country with her extended family. 

Over the course of the story Rachel and Sid become lovers but Rachel can’t quite commit to Sid as she is conflicted about not being around to help her family. Great UK period drama that sadly only ran for one season so we never get a proper conclusion to the Rachel and Sid story.

Miranda and Chloe Lesbian TV Couple

Miranda and Chloe start as friends and then go through that awkward stage of not quite knowing what they are. However by Part 4 after some hand holding and the first tentative kisses they establish that they are a couple. Miranda and Chloe are lgbt characters from the Australian TV show the Secret Life of Us. Watch one of the sweetest lesbian tv couples ever.

Miranda and Chloe Lesbian Interest Storyline

I have just begun uploading a lesbian interest series on my YouTube channel featuring the love story between Miranda and Chloe from the Secret Life of Us. This is a well-loved TV series in Australia and New Zealand but is not widely known outside these countries.

The Secret Life of Us was a groundbreaking TV show back in its day for all sorts of reasons: good storylines, interesting characters and set in St Kilda, Melbourne. 

TSLOFUS series was one of the first Australian TV shows not to have all the usual tropes that we often see in lgbtq+ storylines. The show gave gay characters storylines other than just being gay. In the first three seasons there are a number of gay male characters. Miranda and Chloe feature in Season 3 of the show. What was great to see was that Miranda’s friends simply accept that Miranda is with a woman without any commentary or discussion about suddenly being gay even though she had previously dated men.

Miranda and Chloe fall for each other over time and the whole relationship appears to be an outgrowth of liking each other and spending time. Apart from some early interest in Chloe in the first episode from Miranda’s flatmate which she soon puts the kibosh on there is no annoying triangulation to detract from their sweet love story.
