honestly the ace discourse is like if you're sitting in the emergency room with a sprained ankle and suddenly someone bursts in like "my friend broke his arm. you're injury is nothing compared to that, go home!" and you're like yeah dude that's awful but my ankle is still sprained? and they run off and come back 5 mins later like "my cousin BURNT his ENTIRE FACE OFF. now will you accept that you have to go home??" and it's like?? that sucks but my ankle is still sprained??

anon is completely right but not for their argument? the discourse is exactly like being in an ER where there’s limited spaces and resources in the hospital and people with life threatening/urgent issues are like “please get out of this space it isn’t for you” and then the person is like “BUT MY ANKLE IS SPRAINED” and we’re like “yes, it is sprained, but that doesnt mean you should go to the ER and you’re taking up room for people who have bigger issues” 

it doesnt mean you cant complain like oh shit i sprained my ankle and get some ice on it, but it does mean you should have some fucking perspective and not complain about how much your ankle hurts and go to like disability support groups with people in wheelchairs and chronic pain and expect to be accepted and treated the same because of your sprained ankle

anyways since ace bloggers care more abt twisting peoples words to fit them than they are about givin lgbt people places free of cishets(despite that being why it was created), I have 0 remorse in callin them pieces of shit. NOBODY said all aces are cishet, they said aces who identify as cis and het are not queer and not lgbt. bc they arent. Theyre straight. Asexuality ALONE does not make a person lgbt because the ace community is seperate from the lgbt community. Trans aces are lgbt for being trans and s/mga aces are lgbt for being s/mga, not for being ace.

Also like "are you married?" "Are you seeing anyone?" These are common workplace discussions "do you experience sexual attraction?" Really is not. If you're a het ace in a relationship you can talk about it at work without fear of losing your job. Sga people are forced to either lie or put themselves at risk while having normal, appropriate workplace discussions

we’ve all said this a million times and we’ll say it again:

NO ONE in the ace discourse is saying asexuality/aromanticism is invalid/wrong/not real.

majority of us “ace discoursers” are ace ourselves.

we’re debating whether people who benefit from homophobia and transphobia (aka cis straight people), should be inluded in a community (with valuable/limited resources) where its whole intention was to fight against/protect from homophobia and transphobia.
