moonstudentmagus:
Hakuno had noticed a gathering of children on her passing through the streets and, curious, decided to observe just what the fuss was about. It seems one of the kids was putting on a magic show for the others. It would have normally have been a moment’s curiousity, but the center of attention caught her eye almost immediately.
The would be magician was a young boy with blond hair, striking red eyes, and a commanding, almost regal presence. She knows of two people who matched that description, one for truly a brief moment but the other far more closely. Close enough that she could recognize him anywhere really.
Yes, this child felt like a younger Gilgamesh.
So she watched and he performed parlor tricks and sleight of hand and to his defense, he seemed skilled at them by her reckoning. Of course, she was taken off guard when the boy noticed her and called her over to be his assistant. She hadn’t even been aware that he had noticed her really. Moving closer, she couldn’t help but return his smile.
“Alright then, what do you need of me sir?” It couldn’t hurt to play along, she was the assistant now then.
Gil beams. So she'll play along! That sure saves him a lot of trouble. Had she turned him down, he would’ve had to get a little... persistent, and that wouldn't have been fun for the both of them. But since that’s that, he’ll spare no more thoughts on a scenario which no longer has a chance to exist.
Effortlessly, he simmers down the children who’d been eager to volunteer with promises of there being a next time in another ‘magic show’ and they’re pretty much easily won over when he flashes them a small apologetic smile. With that quickly taken care of, he claps his hands together once and finally has a proper look at his assistant. Familiar. Unfamiliar. Which is it? ...Oh! How could he forget? The reason why this girl is both familiar and unfamiliar to him, isn’t it because of that?
“Don’t worry, you won’t be doing anything difficult okay?” He tells her, the one who has had the opportunity to meet himself in another form, another time that has nothing to do with this smaller form of his.
He turns to look at the audience. “Everyone hasn’t forgotten my missing coin, right? Well you see, the reason why I picked this lovely miss to be my assistant is because the coin is with her now!” As expected, the children erupt into a chorus of confusion. He glances at the girl, shoots her a quick and small reassuring smile. “Where the coin is,” he shrugs his shoulder ( shifts the coin in his sleeve ) "even she doesn’t know, right miss?” He looks at her again for a show of confirmation.
“But if it’s gold, I’ll be able to find it right away! All my assistant has to do is spin around in place one time and I’l know exactly where it is!” He and the small audience look at her expectantly, though there’s a faint trace of amusement on Gil’s end.
