Hello and welcome to my little ShikaCho shrine! Happy to have you read this intro of mine that took way. too. damn. long. But I think it was worth it anyway with the way it came out.

I'm Les!! short Leslie. Which originally came from the fact that i have 'les' in my name and i never decided which name was more appropriate for the blog's aesthetic.

My pronounce are He/She/Xe, and im Bisexual & Genderfluid & somewhere on the aroace spec.

There's not much to know about me other than the fact that I post and write about shikacho whether its fanfics, headcanons, aus and the list goes on... so i'll try my best to be versatile with my posts. My favorite character IS Chouji so you will see me post and talk about him, including inoshikacho whether its platonic or romantic. It just won't be the main ship of this blog.

BUT im very inconsistent with when i post. And i will also post random stuff about myself when i please.

But anywho, I need to set some boundaries regarding my blog ofc:

My blog will contain NSFW and suggestive content, and things will get graphic and there's a specific tag for that content. So just a quick heads up!

Do not make my posts about a ship that isn't ShikaCho (iykwim...) When my post revolves around shikacho, don't make it revolve around a different ship when it doesn't, especially if another ship isn't mentioned. It will result in me blocking you.

This one is specific but i have a huge dislike towards top/alpha/hunk Chouji and all that stuff so keep that away from me, so you will not find that content here. So another heads up for anyone looking for specific posts!

okay so, recently, I've been getting into sumo and learning a lot about its it's rules and moves. And one of the sumo moves that you're allowed to do in the dohyo (ring) is the Harite. "A legal, lightning-fast open-hand strike to the face or chest used to stun opponents." (From google) and it's basically the closest thing they have to a strike since you can't kick or punch or pull hair or gouge eyes.

Then I recalled one of Choji's moves from the naruto games (pretty sure it's ninja storm) where both his arms are expanded and he just slaps away enemies, and it sparked a little thought in my head.

And it's that no one talks about how choji (and the akimichi clan overall) is a sumo wrestler. His fat build isn't simply just fat, it's fat that absorbs damage protecting the muscles, it's stored under the skin; just like sumo wrestlers!

And the way his headband looks like "underwear" and isn't a conventional way to wear, it's not worn like that just because he can; it's a sumo belt. You know, the unconventional underwear looking belt that sumo wrestlers wear when they train and participate in tournaments?

Now, please take a look at choza's outfit:

That rope like belt, is not just a regular belt.

It's a Yokozuna belt. And Yokozuna is the HIGHEST rank in sumo that has only been given to 75 sumo wrestlers throughout sumo history, hell even the 75th Yokozuna didn't get promoted that long ago!

But then this raises another question, why did orochimaru and the sound four wear belts like these as well?

Well I think I concluded why.

Sometimes in japan you'll notice one of those chunky ropes called shimenawa on a tori (gate) at a temple, or maybe around a boulder, or even a tree! And it's a part of shinto belief, where when they feel a kami's presence, they put that put that rope as a mark. And in a very simple way, it's like putting a spiritual rope on a present lol.

So that also applies to sumo wrestlers as well! Hence why yokozuna rank wrestlers get these ropes to begin with.

But orochimaru and the sound 4 were of dark forces, so maybe; this was a symbol of orochimaru's ego, that he thinks of himself as someone on kami level, even tho it's more than just being about power, but orochimaru is literally power hungry. But that's only a theory!

But overall; sumo wrestling is underrated, and i wish it was implemented more in choji's and choza's fighting styles. Or at least in the akimichi clan's life style. Sumo wrestling and it's strict conservative culture can give us a little more intel on the akimichi clan had kishimoto focused more on them rather than... useless alien lore.

istg inoshikacho always have the best fashion sense in every generation (we will not talk about adult choji, shikamaru and ino) like ofc they do. But most importantly i always see akimichis to be more on the alt/woke side, Naras and Yamanakas are morally gray

Listen when I say genuinely shikacho means so much to me, I mean it. It's genuinely so cute imagining them holding hands or watch clouds together while talking about anything and everything and kissing and what not. Just overall having a deeper bond than most and I will always glaze the Sasuke retrieval arc and the shikacho content that we got from that fucking arc it's genuinely delicious honestly you'd think kishimoto was considering making them canon (how did I never hear that man talk about their relationship a day in my life)

Hey this doesn't mean I love shippuden/adult shikacho any less now!! Genuinely shikacho are just special

Shikacho dating pre Sasuke retrieval arc this making chōji's fight with death even angstier and harder on shikamaru. Like his bf & bff almost fucking died and they just started dating

Also I think that chōji would have some type of fear towards the 3 akimichi pills, especially that chili pepper one and how much it HURTS. I imagine the chili pepper is like fire inside of your body just burning every little ounce of energy and fat you have

Y'all ever think about how Choza only gave Choji the chili pills because they were just invaded, and he wanted his son to know there was a last ditch effort to survive, even if it were just long enough for someone to get there, and a Nara* could help save him.

Y'all ever think Choza came back, learned his son was dying, and regretted telling his 12 year old about those pills?

Y'all ever think he regretted letting his son become a ninja, after that? That he almost lost his 12 year old son, and realized his son, his CHILD, almost died on a mission none of those kids should've been on?
