Character bio:

Christine was born in Paris, France in 1992 and moved to New Orleans with her parents when she was ten year's old. From a very young age she was passionate about music and soon she learned to play the violin and piano. As an only child, her parents gave her all their attention but she never took it for granted and was thankful for their love and care.

As a teenager she was friendly and open minded, often being called impulsive and "wild" by her friends and peers. Her first major heartache came when she was 22 year's old, one year after losing her parents, when someone she thought a life-long friend betrayed her, showing how she had only used Christine to gain what she wanted and then abandoned her. The shock and the disappointment were so great that Christine felt she could never trust anyone again except herself. Her trust issues only got stronger when she saw her peers, one after the other, treating others like she had been treated. Always taking what they needed before leaving people behind. Little by litte, that transformed her into a cold person, who used her sarcasm as a defense mechanism in order to never get hurt again. The only solution was to get thick-skinned.

One humid summer night in New Orleans she met a man who introduced himself as Lestat de Lioncourt. Also French. A vampire. Wanting to be careful and not let anyone betray her again, Christine was distant at first but soon their friendship bloomed. Even though there were many times that their opinions clashed, the two saw a bit of themselves in the other, making a deeper friendship innevitable. Christine took pleasure in teasing Lestat, sometimes ending in a bickering between the two; a bickering that both knew was good natured and only added interest and fascination to their friendship.

Two years into their friendship, Christine went to live with Lestat. He told her all about vampires, his fledglings, vampire laws, the Coven in Paris. She was an avid listener and eager to learn more. It was a few years later, when Christine turned 32 year's old that Lestat turned her into a vampire, making her his last fledgling to date. Her cunning nature, along with her trauma, her fear of abandonement, mixed with her impulsive nature and the way she often got angry, almost feral, got her the nickname "the wild one". Her killings matched Lestat's in viciousness; she was a predator Lestat had not seen in a long time, and even though he admired her roughness, the two often argued, with Christine using past sadnesses to provoke her maker and Lestat having to restrain her or even lock her up in a room for days.

But no matter what, the two always loved each other and deep down, even if she rarely showed it, Christine admired her maker, his own roughness, his tenderness, his wisdom and his power. And she saw herself in him with everything they had in common. And even though Christine never told him, she chose to be his life-long companion, if he'd have her.

Powers: mind-reading, the "cloud gift", vampiric hypnotism

General warnings: If she loves you, she loves you for eternity. If she hates you, she hates you for eternity. There's no in between with her. If you become her target, brace yourself for the worst. If she likes you, she will try to persuade Lestat to either keep you as her "pet" or she might try to turn you into a vampire for herself.

Misc: she has a love and hate relationship with her vampiric brother Louis de Pointe du Lac; she loves Claudia (even if she killed Lestat); she has great respect for Marius de Romanus whom she loves calling "Uncle Marius". They often have deep discussions together and she laps up all knowledge that he can give her; she also has a love and hate relationship with Armand, loving to tease him any chance she gets and loving it when he chases her around; the first time she met Armand, he called her "Lestat's bastard". She loved it and smirked. She actually adores Lestat. She respects him and even fears him sometimes and the reason why she provokes him is because she is unable to control her temper and her anger. Also because she really enjoys calling out people on their shit. If they do something wrong and they know it (or don't know it) she is the first to point that out. After every fight, she feels horrible and always brings Lestat victims for him to kill as an apology. He loves it when she does.

Christine smiled broadly at Lestat's Christmas present. She opened it carefully, gasping in delight as she revealed the silk Chanel scarf. "Oh, Lestat..." she whispered. "How well you know me." She cooed, immediatelly putting it on.

Christine felt a warmth in her heart as she listened to him. The way he was teaching her, the way he showed his care for her, his Fledgling, how he advised her, made her cheeks flush and a smile grow as she turned to look at him. He was right. All he said made sense. "A book or a record for Louis sounds like a good idea. His favorite music." She listened to him before repeating his words to the security guards. "You did not see or hear anything. When your shift ends, you shall go home. Nothing out of the usual happened here tonight." Their eyes were still fogged, as if trained with a heavy mist as she spoke. She knew her work with them was over as Lestat patted her back in approval. "Let me try?" She answered at his suggestion. Christine knew it was a big task, but she wanted to practice. "Let's see..." she trailed off as she focused, trying to deactivate the cameras of the first shop they were about to enter, while at the same time, hypnotizing the security guard at its entrance. A soft moan escaped her at the effort, yet she managed it after a minute. Trying both tasks at the same time was not needed - she could had hypnotized the guard afterward - yet she wanted to test her abilities, now sharpened considerably after feeding. She turned to look at her Maker, flashing him a surprised grin. "Mon Dieu, my head spun for a second!"

"It is fun, non?" Lestat asked her. "It feels good to be bad. Does it not?" He laughed knowingly. "Knowing you are getting away with what others cannot."

Lestat walked into Barnes and Noble. "Louis would be hard to get out of here." He said wistfully. "He loves this store. He also loves the little used book shop in the French Quarter.

Lestat looked at the books he found a few that he knew Louis wanted to read. "You give him these. He will love them."

Lestat went going through the books he found a couple that Louis may enjoy and picked them up for himself to give Louis.

"I love being bad," she admitted, flashing him a smirk. "It makes me feel all giddy inside."

As they walked into the store, she was grateful for his help in choosing. She still had to get to know Louis better, as well as what he liked, so Lestat's suggestion was welcomed. "Merci, I will." She smiled, taking the books he gave her and then looking around.

Ahe loved books. Mystery ones, those who spoke of killers and murderers, often too hard to be caught, yet always discovered by the FBI. The kind she loved to kill.

She picked two for herself and walked back to Lestat. "These are for me. Did you find what you looked for?"

Even from inside her white coffin, Christine knew it was still early and the sun had only just set. It was quiet, too quiet, meaning that Lestat had not yet awaken.

Lifting the lid of her coffin slowly, she crawled out and walked from the coffin room into the darkening hallway. She got down the stairs feeling her mind traveling to a certain figure... That young man Lestat had told her about so many times. So many stories and adventures they had had together. Her eyes fell on the piano. Blinking the vampiric sleep away, she stepped closer to it and circled it until her fingertips touched the keys. She looked around. As quiet as a cemetery. The sound of the piano could wake her Maker up if she kept touching it.

Using her powers - now enhanced from feeding the night before - she turned on a couple lamps so that she was not engulfed in darkness as the night fell. She sat on the bench and started playing a familiar tune. It was the melody Lestat had composed for Nicolas de Lenfent. She had heard it on the music box that Lestat had brought with him from France. She had learned it, although she rarely played it.

Now she felt an irresistible pull, a burning desire to play it and get lost in it. She closed her eyes as she played, all thought of waking Lestat up with her music - just like his own had awaken the Queen, she thought and chuckled to herself - fading. Only to be replaced by the young violinist.

She didn't know if it was a vampiric power, binding her soul to his long gone one, but she felt her heart heavy as she kept playing. She never felt the blood tears falling silently from her closes eyelids and onto the piano keys.

"Much, much better!" She said lively, grinning up at him. She beamed at his idea, cocking her head to the side, amused at his suggestion of how they would break into the mall. "Retail shopping? I admit, this is the last thing I would expect, but I do like the idea. Besides, I feel like I want to make amends with Louis. We can make a start with him, non? Let's go." She got up, waiting for him to join her. As they got to the mall, she realized that they were bonding as a Maker and a fledgling. She loved their connection. "I can try and hypnotize them?" She suggested, feeling that her renewed powers would allow it for them.

Lestat's grin became wider at her response of being better. "Oui, we have to shop just like mortals. It is fun and easier than having them keep stores open later for us." He nods, "Oui, that is the idea to show him how much we want to make amends with him."

"A fresh start is what we all need." Lestat declared. He got up and followed the sidewalk to the riverwalk male about a mile or so away. "You can use the mind gift on the guards if you wish," Lestat agreed as they walked along the path.

"It is nice to have a partner in crime." He said as they approached the mall. Leading her around the building to the service entrance. He used his mind gift to unlock the doors. He lead her through the hall to the security office. "Through there. They are all yours," he whispered in a voice so low mortals could not hear but a vampire could.

As his grin widened, her heart felt warmer and lighter. She loved making him happy and proud. "I think I can also get him a scarf? I think he will like it." She felt goofy but she needed some distraction after the drama that had occured with the three of them earlier.

"You do know that I try to copy you when it comes to your powers, non? I watch you, how you do several things and try to do them too", she admitted. When they got to the entrance, she whistled seeing how he unlocked the doors with his mind gift. His whisper was well-heard by her and she turned to glance at him as a wicked smirk made its way to her face as he lead her through the hall.

Christine stepped inside, seeing the two security guards. She focused, taking a step closer to them. She knew Lestat was following close behind her. She saw the guards' arms falling to their sides, their mouth pausing as they talked, now unmoving and disoriented. Their eyes got foggy and their heart rates slowed down. She walked past the guards, turning to look at her Maker, waiting for him and looking up at him expectingly. Her eyes were glowing from excitement.

"You may want to get him a plant, DVD or book as well. Louis is not fond of clothes." Lestat advised her.

Lestat nodded approvingly. "That is how it should be done. If you ever were to turn someone. You would teach them. If you love someone enough to want give them this life to be with you. You want them to do well so you teach them these things."

He watched her work her magic on the guards. He stayed in the door way confident in her abilities. "Tell them they see no one and hear no one tonight. Their camera's are all off now so it is the truth. Once their shift is over they can clock out and go home." Lestat had disabled them with his gift. Once she completed that he smiled and patted her back.

"We will have to disable each individual stores camera's, locks, and alarms from outside each store we enter before going in. We will of course turn the alarm and camera back on and lock up once we have left." He told her. He had of course done this a lot over the years. He enjoyed this game of cat and mouse he played with shopkeepers. "I pay double for what each item is worth. The shopkeepers so far have not reported this because nothing is ever actually stolen. It would be hard for them to explain, after all."

"Do you think you can manage this? Or shall I do them all?" He asked her.

Thinking about it, he was right. The lovers' lane would probably have exactly one couple at this hour. It was late for mortals. So his suggestion was the best of all. She followed him as he dragged her with him. It was the perfect place. At his words, she smirked and winked. "Bon, I won't be too long, promise." She turned and dashed around a corner as he went on his own way by the river. She spotted him almost immediately: a raven-haired man, tall, slender, wearing a long leather coat. Drug peddler? No. Worse. He followed a woman to an alley. Christine attacked in a flash. Grabbing him from behind, she hissed before sinking her fangs into his neck and digging her nails into his ribs, breaking the skin. The man screamed but she dragged him into a corner, closing his mouth with her hand as she drank. When she was done, she let him drop to the ground. No one would be looking for him. With her senses sharped, she caught movement and turned to walk toward the sound. Another one? How lucky would she get in one night? She returned to him, finding him seated on the bench, after her second attack. She licked the trickled blood off her lower lip and sat beside him. "All set. That was much needed," she sighed contented.

Lestat heard her approach and smiled, "Feeling better, ma petite?" He asked turning his head to look at her.

"I am thinking about doing a bit of retail therapy." He told her. "What do you think? It is easy to break into the riverwalk mall and disable store alarms. The security guard is easy to put to sleep." He raised a brow. "I just leave money by the cash registers for the things I take," He explained. "There is a new book and dvd that Louis has been wanting. You could do with a wardrobe update as well. I of course would like a few garments as well!"

Her eyebrows furrowed, realizing he was right. She should be healed by now. And yet, her bleeding hadn't stropped as she sucked on her lip more. At his question, she responded, "I may have skipped a couple lately..." As she spoke, letting go of her lip, blood trickled down her chin and neck. She didn't bother lapping up more. "I tried to fly earlier tonight. I can only levitate a few meters above the ground." She started getting restless. She touched her wound with the tips of her fingers.

Lestat sighed, "You are acting like Louis. You have to feed, daily. You let it go too long and you will kill without meaning too from hunger. If you do that others will have the right to kill you. They already try to kill the young. You are strong and can defeat most of them. If you do not feed it will not matter. You have many gifts given to you but without strength they are useless. Can you still run fast?"

He pricks his finger with his fangs and moves it to her wound once she moves her fingers. "There all healed. Where would you like to hunt tonight, ma coccinelle?"

"It was our argument..." she whispered. "It makes me not wanting to feed sometimes," she admitted. Christine let hisnwirds sink in as his teachings were valuable to her. More than valuable. Cherrished. It made her feel likw someone cared. At last. Someone did.

She nodded, causing some of her burgundy curls to bounce around her face. She knew he was right. She understood. At his question, she nodded again. "Oui, I can. I checked it just ronight, while coming here."

Christine let a faint smile show as he touched her lip and healed her with his blood. "Merci, Lestat. Hmm, would the lovers' lane be a good place?" She smiles mischiviously now, letting her sensitivity fade in the background. That was enough for tonight. She let her fangs show, turning her smile into a toothy grin. Touching his hand with hers, she got up, urging him up from the sofa. "Shall we?"

"People argue it keeps things lively. You should not neglect yourself because of that. Arguing with me is nothing to starve yourself over." He admonished.

"Non, you will not find many there this late." He said giving her a knowing look.

Lestat runs dragging her to the French Market area because there will be tourists there and some will be out to harm them. She can find an evildoer there. It is also less crowded than Bourbon Street. So there will be places she can lead her prey to while she feeds. "Here there are a few to choose from. I will be over by the river waiting for you on a bench waiting." He has already fed earlier even though he really did not have too.

Lestat strolled to the water and sat looking at the Mississippi River. He sighed feeling guilty about leaving Louis out of the loop. He will make it up to him. He decided. Maybe he can talk Christine into going shopping with him, he thought to himself.

Louis sat frozen for a moment stunned at Lestat’s arrival acting as if he had done nothing wrong. He glared hearing Lestat say that he missed him. As if he will be allowed to get away with this? Louis said firmly and quietly, “You are no better than Armand, Lestat. Perhaps worse, in that you made her than called her that. You are the bastard. You have disrespected both of us by making her then not telling me. You have known her for three years? She has been a vampire for one year. You did not even have the courtesy to tell me about her? Bâtard, Je ne vais pas exprimer mes griefs devant elle. Nous en parlerons plus tard.”

He looks at Chrisine to let her know his feelings, “I am sorry both Armand and Lestat have been rude to you. I do not hold that against you. Christine knew this argument would happen. She didn’t interfere while they were talking, or rather fighting, with each other. She knew better than to open her mouth and talk at that point. She flinched a couple times while Louis was speaking. But she gave a light, almost sarcasric, smile while he talked to her and batted her eyelids when he got to the point about Claudia. She couldn’t help herself but burst into laughter. “Excuse me, compare?” She felt her shoulders shake with her laugh. “But this is exactly the point!” She felt her voice raising. “This is what I asked him before he made me. I never wanted to be compared, I never wanted to be a proxy! I am NOT her! And I begged him not to do it if it was only because I reminded him of her.” Tears of anger welled in her eyes, which had already turned a bright yellow/gold, switching from the golden/brown hazel she naturally had. She stopped the tears from falling, getting up from the sofa and walking to the window, crossing her arms in front of her and looking out, turning her back to them both. She didn’t turn when Louis left. She knew she and Lestat were alone in the room. She laughed a bitter laugh. “Too dramatic?” She whispered, knowing Lestat could hear her. She turned to face him, her arms still crossed. “Je suis venu te trouver et m'excuser.” She paused for a beat. Then she sighed and made her way back to the sofa. “Vas-tu garder rancune longtemps?”

Louis looked at her with compassion before he left but did not retract his words at her passionate plea. “You did just mention her. You are not her. You do not remind me of her. She was a child in a woman’s body. You are not. You are old enough to know better. You both lied by omission. You were made for a year yet you never sought me out. You are complicit, madam.” He grabs the novel he has been reading before going into the primary bedroom and locking the door. He leans against the door. He moves silently to the bed. He pulls back the covers and crawls in holding his book to him. (OOC: This is in response to what you said because he would respond before leaving. He will not respond to anything else you say. He is now in his room)

Lestat shakes his head because he is used to Louis’ ways by now, “Isn’t he beautiful when he is angry?” He asks her before saying anything else. He loves to make his beautiful Louis angry upon occasion just to see him angry. He knows that Louis will see reason.

“Well, that went better than I thought it would,” Lestat tells her. “We did wrong him by letting so much time go by. I loose track of time so easily… His reaction would have not been good either way.” Lestat explains to her in way of an apology. “He can hold a grudge but he is fair. He will come around. He is too angry and hurt to respond logically right now. Give him time to process this.” Lestat assures her. “It will be okay. He is not comparing her to you. He was telling the truth about that. He was just upset her name was even mentioned. He does not talk about her. When he does it is ‘she would like this’ or 'I miss her.’ He refuses to say her name, ma cher. We do not speak of her. I know I told you that much. He is hurt and you opened a wound unexpectedly.”

She nodded, listening to him. She had her still wild-hued eyes casted downwards, letting them look up at him when he called her "me cher", seeing how his tone with her was back to a soft one. Christine smiled. Lestat always had a way to make her calm down.

"Well, he is my vampiric brother. And I don't want to hurt him, my intentions are not such, you know that." Her irises started shifting to their natural hazel now. She moved closer to him. "I will give him as much time as he needs. And he must give some to me. We both have to warm up to each other."

"She bit her lower lip, unitenrionally drawing blood by breaking the skin quite easily with her fang. "Ow! Merde!" She hissed, covering the wound with her upper lip, sucking in her blood.

"I know you both are so excitable!" Lestat grins a toothy grin because he is pleased with himself. "You will both get along famously. Once you get to know one another. You will see."

His eyes narrow, "You should be healed by now. You have my blood. Have you been skipping meals?" He says exasperated. "You will not be learning from Louis and picking up his nasty habits. He grabs your hand and drags you to the door. You can still fly, non?"

At his question, she responded, "I may have skipped a couple lately..." As she spoke, letting go of her lip, blood trickled down her chin and neck. She didn't bother lapping up more.

"I tried to fly earlier tonight. I can only levitate a few meters above the ground." She started getting restless. She touched her wound with the tips of her fingers.

Christine turned more towards him, resting her back better into the sofa pillows behind her. She let go of Mojo, who went to rest by Louis. "I think that he tries to do things better this time... After what happened with... her..." She lowered her head sadly, knowing he probably could read her thoughts. Claudia, she thought, wondering if he heard her. "Perhaps he keeps me a secret until I I'm not a baby vampire anymore? Maybe it is a way to protect me. Who knows?" She shrugged. "We first met two years before he made me, so for three years now. As for others, I only know some of them by name but I had the... "pleasure" to meet Armand once." She smirked, thinking back to their first meeting. "He said 'You are Lestat's bastard, aren't you?' See, we really love each other", she said sarcastically.

Lestat had hunted before making his way to their Rue Royale residence only to find Louis not home. He had tried there first because that was their primary home. He had waited there for Louis before seeing the note directing him to the penthouse.

Lestat took his time going to the penthouse as he saw no reason to hurry. As he came up to the penthouse he saw lights from inside. Walking up the stairs to the penthouse he heard voices. Lestat let himself in to their home stopping himself from calling out to Louis because he heard what Christine repeated to his lover. "Well, you are a bastard aren't you?" He said in a light taunting manner. He dropped his keys into the dish on the table. He carelessly dropped his leather jacket on a chair as he sauntered into the room noticing the mess.

Lestat did not bother looking at her as he was watching Louis' expression. He was curious to see what would happen. He wondered what Louis would say about his unexpected visitor. He knew Louis hated uninvited guests especially when he was organizing. Lestat did sort of invite her, didn't he?

Lestat was sure she would not cool down this quickly. He figured it would take her at least a day or two to cool off. He walked casually over to Louis brushing his lips to Louis' cheek, "Mon cher, how I have missed you." He said even though they had seen each other upon waking this evening. He sat down by Louis after scratching Mojo behind his ear. He ignored Louis' stiffening as he sat straighter up on the sofa, "I see you have met Christine. I invited her over but was not expecting her until tomorrow or the next day. Is she not a lovely spitfire?"

Her eyes followed him as he sat on the sofa. "David? Oh no, he was with me sometimes, but for all I know..." she shrugged, smiling to herself aa she kept petting Mojo, "he could be with anyone when not with me, right?" At the mention of Lestat's lawyer, Christine looked up at Louis, shaking her head. "No, we only happen to share a name, but I'm not that Christine. I'm the farthest thing from a lawyer you will ever see. As for his career... It looks like it to me, but you never know with him." She bit her lower lip before adding. "Of course you know him way more than I do. You know how spontaneous he can be."

Louis sat quietly thinking for a moment before saying in a calm and measured voice, "I do not believe he is trying to revive his career. I do believe he has been secretive. I believe that he has been lying by omission about you. That is not your fault. When did this happen? How long have you known one another? Has he introduced you to any others?"

Louis appeared calm and courteous. He watches Christine pet Mojo. He folds his hands on his lap. Feeling foolish again that they could remain happy together. Remembering, Antoine being made similarly his nails dig into his leg briefly before relaxing.
