it is okay to gasp at the sunset every single evening like it is the first sunset you have ever seen. it is okay to take photos of everything you find pretty. it is okay to laugh about something that happened a week ago (it is okay to laugh entirely too much). it is okay to say that the sunlight looks like honey, that the world looks like a dream today. it is okay to memorize poems by heart and recite them to people who make your heart feel warm. it is okay to take this life and weave it golden. don’t let anyone tell you that you are silly or dramatic or stupid. you are beautiful. you have beautiful eyes through which everything sparkles and nothing goes unnoticed and you are so loved for that.

lazy afternoons where everything has a soft warm glow

watching people walk by while sitting in a coffee shop

the scent of shampoo in your hair 

soft and clean new pages in a notebook

I got my heart broken and I survived, I failed 3 courses in university and graduated, I got rejected in the very first job I applied for and got promoted yesterday, I went through hard times with my family but then two years later, we laughed our hearts out over lunch, The closest friends disappointed me several times but I made new friends and loved them with all my heart. I did it once, I can do it again.

i found other ways to fill myself up when you left. at first, it was alcohol and drugs and one-night stands. it was driving fast and smoking cigarettes until my lungs caught fire. it was coming home at 2 a.m. crying, wondering how the hell i am going to survive this. but slowly, it became nights out with my good friends. it became ice cream and talking to my mom and exercising and being on time for my therapist appointments. it became picking myself off the ground and shaking the dirt off. at some point, it turned from self-destruction to healing. and healing was worth it. it always will be.
