got back into ceramics this semester. this is my big beautiful deer :)

she is unglazed right now but inshallah she will be completed in the fall. her leg fell off in bisque fire but its ok

it’s difficult to convey the size in photos but trust me when i say life-sized. built her in 3 weeks idk why or how i was really tormented but this was fully my perogative

Hi, can I ask you a question? Why do some artists not like other people to repost their art even with credit? I’m not judging you or any other artist who feels that way, I’d just like to understand if there’s a specific reason they don’t like it, purely out of curiosity. Since I’m not an artist, I can’t really see a reason, because a repost with credit could bring more visibility, so that’s why I have the question. I’m sorry if I was being inconvenient and you don’t want to answer, it was just curiosity.

hi! i can’t speak for others but i’ve had some weird experiences with people reposting my art in the past so i’ve just stuck with this policy since then, but i’m not super vigilant about it. also in my experience big accounts that repost art get way more likes and that almost never reflects back on the original artists’ own accounts. i try to avoid that because it annoys me…. basically just personal preference :)

self-portrait with tattoos: a series from my last semester at community college!

oil paint and embroidery thread on canvas, in order: 30x40, 26x36, 11x14 inches

all of the tattoos are embroidered onto the canvas and based on my own ink! this was mostly an exercise in grisaille & glaze, going for the baroque look of skin. i hate the first one and like the other two..... photos are kind of shot and edited terribly i'm sorry.
