Jealous Ray is my absolute weakness and nobody can tell me it wouldn’t be canon to his character! NewlyDead in their fic (chapter link!) writes jealous Ray so beautifully it may as well be canon! Everyone just needs to read it and take notes quite frankly (I’m sorry, I didn’t make the rules ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

I’m genuinely surprised at the amount of people in fandom that headcanon Pete as the jealous one, when Ray’s the one who’s just come to terms with sexuality and is basically living through all his ‘firsts’ with Pete. Book Ray’s internalized homophobia is often merged with Movie Ray’s, so if we’re sticking with that character-wise, he’d definitely be possessive with Pete.

Pete, on the other hand, comes into Ray’s life at a different stage in his emotional development. He knows who he is sexuality-wise and has enough self-awareness and maturity to be the grounding force for Ray. If anything, Pete would probably be slightly annoyed at most.
