Strange Timez
━ i am who i am. i can’t give you more than that.
This has probably been talked about To Death but infinity train really deeply appeals to me and I think a lot of people because it is a very literal and postmodern take on the “fantasy adventures that teach you lessons” trope that has saturated children’s storytelling without being overly dark and adult-oriented. Infinity train explores how that lesson-teaching fantasy system is inherently flawed! There’s no way to really do that right without leaving some uncomfortable implications about the world that surrounds it! And explorations of that don’t have to be reserved for adult fiction
In infinity train this is explored by literally having the system be broken in the first season and then identifying in subsequent seasons why even the “fixed” version is still fucked up. I hope since s4 looks like it’s gonna be a hazel and Amelia season that they’ll dig deeply into that because those characters specifically have a Lot to say on how the train works.
Simon is a sympathetic villain done right.
We see where he came from, we see the core of his beliefs. We see the path he could have taken, and we see evidence of his reasoning behind every decision he makes.
We CAN sympathize with simon, but that doesn't make his actions any less villainous. Simon was a person, not good or bad, just like grace, and we saw him fall and that AFFECTED us because we see ourselves in his pain, and in his trauma.
If youre mad at the crew for not giving simon a proper redemption, because it would've been so easy to redeem him, that means they've made a very good, very realistic villain.
Fucking top notch writing, IT crew.

Ack, cuties.
A lil personal comic about my experience of gender and DID. The TL;DR of this comic is that I’m now going to be going by he, she, and they pronouns! Do what feels right to you, haha. 💖
