I completely understand why we ended up where we did. It wasn’t an easy thing to imagine exactly where they’d go, and it’s not the easy sell of a procedural.
The side characters are rich and have a lot of potential, and the chemistry is so good I’d watch them act anything for hours. We are so so lucky for what we did get, and that it got greenlit at all.
I’m grateful…and disappointed, knowing the actors would’ve given us more of these characters if they could. The writing was so good, I’m sure it would’ve been great. I’m so grateful to the actors for making this happen, and for the ending we got.
Anyway, that’s where I stand right now. I wish the industry had more room for stuff like this. I was never really expecting more, but the actors and showrunner seemed pretty hopeful, so I feel like I got my hopes up too. I hope people continue to make and consume writing and other art about them. Hugs for everyone who is sad and disappointed, as I know I am.
hi! asking for a friend (it me), how much og ncis knowledge do you actually need to watch the spinoff? it looks like a shipper’s dream but i don’t necessarily want to watch 8 other seasons if i don’t have to lol, so would greatly appreciate a primer or just some cliff notes!!
soooo probs not what you want to hear but i’ll be honest and will say i just don’t think it will hit the same if you haven’t seen the buildup of all 8 seasons of tiva honestly. HOWEVER we need views for season 2 LMAO so i do beg you to watch !!!!! overall is a good show even if you don’t have context for some things and also just in general is a fun time and has fun side characters so at least worth a try watching!

3x01/2 Kill Ari Pt 1 & 2 - Gives Zivas intro and a good bit of her backstory plus Tiva being insane from the jump
3x08 Undercovers - MUST WATCH Tiva content, them undercover as a married couple plus references are made in the spinoff to this
4x01 Shalom - more ziva backstory plus START OF SECRET SUMMER OF SEX (CONFIRMED)
4x20 Cover Story - ok before the spinoff this would not be on this list (although it is a fave!!) but there are references to this one in the show that are fun
5x18/19 Judgement Day pt 1 & 2 - insanely good tiva angst that just already feels like they’re so married
6x08/9 Cloak and Dagger - More good tiva angst and shows they would literally do anything to protect each other at this point
6x22-25 Legend Pt 1 &2, Semper Fidelis and Aliyah - Starts the BEST arc of the show with the BEST tiva angst that leads to ziva leaving ncis
7x01 Truth and Consequences - BEST EPISODE OF THE SHOW aka Tony literally going to the edge of the earth to find and save ziva
7x13 Jet Lag - Tony and Ziva go to paris to escort a witness and share a hotel room 👀
8x23-24 Swan Song and Pyramid - Good hurt comfort moments and Tony once again doing anything to save ziva
9x12-13 Housekeeping and A Desperate Man - jealous tiva and just some insanely good cute scenes
9x24-10x01 Til Death do Us Part and Extreme Prejudice - ELOPE SCENE which def comes into play for the spinoff and then Tiva stuck in an elevator together all sweaty, enough said
10x07/8 Shell Shock pt 1 & 2 - literally some of the cutest sweetest tiva scenes that show more of tony and zivas childhoods

13x24 Family First - Tony finds out Ziva had his child TALI and never told him and also now she’s dead (she’s not dead)
17x01/2 and 17x11/12 - ZIVA RETURNS !!! no tony but starts the arc of why ziva had to fake her death and why she can’t be with him and Tali and sets up from where the spinoff starts basically
soooo still a lot but hopefully more digestible then over 8 seasons of content??? there’s also this amazing list made by @pokingacave that are ALL the tiva eps if you want more!
and if that’s still too many this is 45 mins but shows a good rough timeline of their story
