We canât hate ourselves into a version of ourselves we can love. ~Lori Deschene
While my self-love journey is on-going, here are a few things I try to remember when I think I'm not good enough and I'm tempted to be mean to myself.
What we want, isnât what we need
Naturally, we approach based on physical attraction and sometimes the qualities that we need in a partner aren't in anyone we are attracted to and that's the problem. Â
These days, things are endlessly more complicated and frustrating, and dating as a millennial is seriously screwed up.
So, I found this to be an amazing read. I donât think itâs for millennialbut for everyone who has ever thought of not being single. Note, I didnât say in a relationship because there are so many single people in relationships. When we reflect on past and present relationships we can stop and ask ourselves, â WHAT AM I DOING?â Actually, we need to shout it! We have these realistic (no theyâre not) expectations that are based on baseless standards for the most part. I want this, idonât want that because... and the âvalidâ reason becomes invalid when you realize this perfect 10 isnât so perfect. Meaningless sex, why? Because you â cyaanbuy puss innabagâ, âhaffitest drive the car before you buy itâ. When will we actually stop and realize that what we have been doing and the way in which we think have become detrimental to our existence. We have developed idealsbased on faulty principles concocted by our oppressor.
