Uh... Hi.
Hi??
For the first time in her life, Violet had done the unthinkable: she’d skipped all her classes. She hadn’t gone to a single one, but instead she went to the school’s gym and spent her time at the pool. She hoped no one would look for her there, so she could just sit and be alone.
Tink rarely went to the classes she didn’t have with Peter. It was a waste of time in her opinion and she had better things to do. Like explore the school when no one was going to come and distract her. And right now was the perfect time to go exploring. A place she hadn’t really gone to is the pool because one; she hates water and two; she didn’t know how to swim, which she found embarrassing. Still her curiosity got the best of her and she made her way inside. It was quiet and empty (at least she thought so). She made her way to the water, staring at it curiously. What it would be like to fly over it....She had been practicing lately and it couldn’t hurt honestly. So Tink closed her eyes and thought happy thoughts. Before she knew it her feet were above the ground and it was enough for Tink to walk across the water without falling into it. She was halfway across the pool when she noticed she wasn’t alone and the surprise of the other girl made her fall right into the water.
“I don’t think I did.”
“Oh....must’ve been someone else then. My bad.”
“Why’d you call me over here?”
“Of course! A ticking crocodile too that wanted to eat the old cod fish up.”
“Could the boy fly?”
“I just heard the best story ever! There was sword fights, and pirates, and everything you could ever want!”
“Did it has crocodiles too?”
“He does too. Are you positive on that? I think Mother trumps girl.”
“He.Does. Not. Mothers are flighty, useless beings. And you’re leaving out the special part, which implies more than just being a girl to him.”
“Does too. Why on Earth would I forget? I am very comfortable. Change?” She blinks innocently at the blonde. “Are you sure that change is not about you?”
“Does not. It will never be about me. I’m his special girl.”
Grabbing her hand, he scribbled his address on her palm. “Just meet me there.”
She reads it, memorizing it with ease. “You are my hero right now.”
“Does too.” She snaps back. “I don’t have an ego. He hasn’t gotten bored in the nine years I have been with him.”
“Does not. And don’t forget, I’ve known him longer. So don’t even waste your time feeling comfortable. I know change is coming soon, and I don’t think you’ll be in it.”
“Nope.” She shrugs her shoulders. The other girl’s words not affecting her in the slightest. “Peter tells me things he doesn’t tell you.” She says simply. “He says I am Mother so that is what I am.”
“He does not.” Right? If he did, Tink would beat his butt anyways. “He’s trying to entertain your fragile ego, but don’t worry, he’ll get bored with playing house soon enough.”
She rolls her eyes lightly, settling a hand on her hip. “Peter is father, I am mother and the Lost Boys are our children. Just ask Peter, oh…but you know everything, Tink. So you shouldn’t have too.”
“And you’re delusional,” she snaps back, resisting the urge to shake her until she made sense. “When it comes to Peter, I do. You’re not mentally stable enough to be a mother. But please, do tell me why I’m wrong this time.”
“If you want, I can meet you at your place or you can join me back to mine so I can shower before we go out.”
“Yours is perfect. I’ll be there in a minute.”
“It is my business. A mother always knows where father and the children are.”
“This isn’t the fifties, you know. And he either of those things to you. He’s your friend, like me, and that’s all. He’s on an adventure anyways.”
Sitting up, he chuckled softly. “Then how about we go get a drink tonight, sweety?”
“Please. I need this more than ever right now.”
"Oh, where has that boy gone off too."
“None of your business.”
