◇. after daniela's sudden change of behavior, lara drags you into manon's party to take your mind off the woman. what you didn’t expect was for daniela to be also there, so you drank til your guts gave out. the night after, she comes to your apartment all vulnerable from a failed date.
a frown replaced your smile as you read daniela's last text. deciding to not to dwell on it longer and focusing on the person you're currently with, you shove the phone into your pocket.
lara leaned back from the mirror after testing some of the lipsticks. she noticed the frown on your face as she looks at you through the mirror.
"what's gotten to you?" she asked, wiping any excess.
"it's daniela..." you sighed.
lara turns away from the mirror, "if you weren't my best friend, i'd have slapped the shit out of you for thinking about another person while hanging out with me."
you pout at her, apologizing.
"sorry..."
lara cringes at your attempt at being cute, shoving your face away before walking ahead.
"stop sulking and help me find a top to secure a top tonight."
you gagged at her, scrunching your nose.
"ew lara, you're still at it?" you comment.
lara looks at you with a deadpan.
"at least my chances are higher than your sad little crush over a straight girl." she retorts before turning back.
"can't i atleast serve cunt in a party?" lara added before disappearing into the clothing racks leaving you alone with your thoughts.
...
you lay in lara's bed like a starfish, staring at the ceiling while listening to lara rant as she prepares to go to manon's party. you’d have been chilling alone in your apartment, bothering your favourite human but lara had to drag you along with her shenanigans.
now as she puts on her makeup, she paused to look at your state and sighed, throwing a brush at you.
"ow! what was that for?" you picked up the brush and threw it back at her.
"i just can't stand seeing you so depressed over that woman." lara said rolling her eyes before her eyes widened as an idea popped into her mind.
you met eyes with her and you immediately shake your head but lara had already dragged you to her closet.
"you, my dear friend, are coming with me." she said and you whined in complaint.
"nooo! lara i don't want to!" you continue to whine until lara shut you up by throwing come clothes at your face.
"i am not leaving my best friend alone to rot in sadness over a straight woman while i party and get some." lara said, closing her closet.
"now, shut up and wear those." she orders.
"we're getting wasted tonight."
...
the bass was so heavy it rattled the walls that you could feel it in your chest like a second heartbeat you didn’t ask for. lara had dragged you to manon’s party and then quickly abandoned you at the kitchen island the moment she spotted some masc across the room. classic. you sighed, muttering a silent curse under your breath as you gripped a red plastic cup filled with...whatever the hell this was supposed to be.
you let your eyes wander around the room. party lights pulse against the walls, colors bleeding into the crowd. a dj booth hums in the center of the chaos, bass rattling the floor. the kitchen’s a warzone of empty cups, half-eaten food, and sticky counters but no one cares. not tonight.
there was a crowd in the middle, dancing and rubbing against one another to the music. at some point you saw lara dancing with the same woman before disappearing in the crowd.
you shake your head, a small smile tugging you lips.
then just as the crowd thinned for a moment, you spotted someone familiar. someone that made your heart race.
daniela.
you took in the sight. those sharp eyes, the wild curls framing her face, lips curling into that familiar, infuriating smirk. and then your gaze shifted. a guy stood in front of her, smug, overconfident, loud and just her type.
the plastic cup cried as your grip on it tightened.
the crowd thickened, bodies swaying and shadows shifting, blocking your view of them. but just before they disappeared, you swore her eyes found yours, sharp and unreadable.
you downed the whole cup, making you wince as your throat burned at the unknown liquor.
if lara dragged you here to forget, you were making sure you'll forget.
you turned to the punch bowl, the sharp sting of alcohol hitting your nose before you even got close. whatever was in there reeked of chaos, different bottles dumped together with zero mercy.
you turned to the punch bowl, the sharp sting of alcohol hitting your nose before you even got close. whatever was in there reeked of chaos, different bottles dumped together with zero mercy.
you filled your cup to the brim and downed it in one go. someone cheered. someone else whistled. but their voices blurred into static. all you could think about was her
and how badly you wanted not to.
after your third cup and someone feeding you a suspicious brownie, you felt your stomach churn and that meant something wrong. you pushed your way to the bathroom, ignoring a couple making out on the sink as you rushed to the toilet, dropping on your knees and throwing up.
you heard the couple panic, their voices muffled and distant, like they were underwater. the weird, heavy sensation in your stomach only worsened, twisting and rolling until it drowned everything else out.
somewhere through the haze, you caught the guy’s voice, low, frantic, then the sound of the door opening and closing.
you thought they'd left but fate had different plans for you.
"yn?"
you barely managed to lift your head up, squinting at the bright bathroom light as you look up.
"who‐-"
your eyes met daniela's.
you blinked a few times. brain still lagging behind your body.
daniela's face came into focus. flushed cheeks, smudged lipstick, and flustered from having been caught.
but she crouched to your level, helping you up.
"oh my god, what happened?" she exclaims as she helps you up. steady hands guiding you to the sink. she was so close. her perfume invading your nose making you dizzy all over again.
"wash up." she murmured, turning on the faucet for you.
while your crush stood at the back looking at you with worried eyes, you tried not to mess up in front of her as your hands shook.
your hands shook gently as you cupped water and splashed it on your face, enough to sober you up. it helped a but but your head was still spinning.
"you shouldn't have drank too much." daniela muttered, handing you paper towel.
your fingers brushed as you took it, causing your neck to flush at the sensation.
"wasn't planning to." you said weakly, drying your face. "just...needed a distraction."
daniela raised her perfectly shaped brow, locking eyes with you through the mirror.
"from what?"
you.
was what you wanted to answer but held back because you weren't currently in the right mind.
you just shrugged your shoulders, meeting her gaze through the mirror.
then you turned gently towards her, hands propped to your sides.
"i should probably go..." you said, taking a step but your vision spun and you almost fell if not for daniela's quick hands, steadying you.
"yn!" she exclaimed, guiding you up on your feet and still held you when you were still swaying. that's when daniela decided.
"alright, i'm driving you home," she mutters, holding your wrist firmly as you weaved through the crowd.
you both got out of manon's house and the night air greeted you, cold, fresh air, a sharp contrast inside where strong liquor dominated the air.
daniela led you to her red mustang parked across. the red paint standing out from the other cars parked, making them look dull beside her car.
when daniela let go to grab her keys, you leaned on her car to balance as your vision still spun. you dragged yourself to the passenger seat, pulling the door open in which you almost fell back doing so.
daniela stifled a laugh before settling in the driver’s seat and helping you up, buckling your seatbelt and locking the door. she was once again invading your space, her perfume and the close distance making you dizzy. your heart racing and you wished she wouldn't hear it.
she leaned back after and started the engine. with a low purr of her car, you both drove to your apartment.
daniela had her eyes on the road but there was this strange urge pulling her to look at you, and when she stopped at a redlight, she gave in to this pull.
you were asleep. mouth slightly parted open and your face so relaxed. daniela let her eyes wander, taking in your features.
"..pretty.."
the words slipped out so naturally, daniela didn't even notice she said it.
just as daniela crossed the intersection, that's when the realization dawned upon her. she didn’t know your address.
"fuck."
...
the door swung open and daniela almost fell with how your weight was dragging her down. she held a firm grip on you, keeping you up as she guides you to her room. she kicked the door shut before dragging your drunk self.
daniela released a sigh as she dumped you on her bed. your body immediately relaxing and making yourself comfortable on her pillows as if you own it.
the latina watched as you relaxed and murmured in your sleep.
just as she turns to fix herself, you spoke.
"thank you, daniela..." you slurred in your sleep.
daniela looks at you and smiles, "your welcome, yn."
then as she entered her bathroom, her ears definitely caught the next words
"i like you so much.."
...
your stomach twisting and churning was what woke you up that you jumped out of the bed. scaring the latina who was doing her makeup. daniela immediately pointed to the bathroom in which you bolted in and went straight to empty your guts out in the toilet.
"ugh..fuck.." you groaned.
you felt a presence behind you and you looked up and see your crush.
"deja vu?" she humorously quipped before handing you a glass of water.
your face definitely heated up in embarrassment from being witnessed by your crush in your lowest for the second time.
"there should be an extra toothbrush there. you can fix yourself." daniela said, pointing at the sink before going back to doing her makeup.
after fixing and mentally scolding yourself, you came out of the bathroom. head still spinning but you're fine. fine enough to notice daniela looking like she's about to head out.
"going out?" you asked, padding to gather your jacket--lara's jacket actually, that you must’ve peeled off in your sleep.
"yep. devon's taking me out." daniela said.
woah.
you hummed casually as if your voice didn't threaten to break. you grabbed your phone and open it to find hundreds of missed calls and texts from lara.
"well, i should go. lara's looking for me." you said, fixing your clothes.
daniela paused, looking at you through the mirror.
"right." was all she said before shrugging.
you yelled a bye before going out of her apartment, looking like you just left a one night stand with your party clothes in broad daylight.
daniela watches you through her window. how you stood in the sidewalk for a good minute before a car parked in front of you and how you animatedly apologized to lara before the car drove off.
...
"nothing happened, okay?" you said, slumping down on the seat.
"aw, you wished there was, didn't you?" lara teased, face a mock pity.
you rolled your eyes and focused your attention on the phone, daniela's contact open as you typed a message to thank her.
lara dropped you off to your apartment, still with her teasing remarks but you love her anyway. as you watch her car drive off, you retreated to your humble apartment where the silence was loud.
you took a shower, which you hated because shower meant thoughts will come and overwhelm you. and it did because your head kept replaying the scene from earlier.
"...devon's taking me out.."
daniela's words kept ringing in your mind. you knew you had no chance in the beginning and she was bound to date a guy but it just hurts in a way you actually let tears fall before you laughed at yourself.
and to make it even worse, you recalled how you ran to the bathroom last night to puke and passed by a couple making out. guess what, genius? that was most probably daniela and the guy.
"i'm so pathetic..."
...
"..oppa!"
you were slumped on the couch, holding a bowl of fries while invested on a clichè kdrama series. covered in a thick blanket with some pillows around. the coffee able was littered with empty soda cans and an unopened one with condensation dripping from the sides.
the sky was painted in indigo, hinting that you've spent your whole day watching a kdrama series. and you planned to do so.
until fate, again, decided not to.
you hear a familiar loud purr of someone's car engine rumble outside. you think it's just your neighbours' but later, there was a knock on your door.
begrudgingly, you paused the video and stood up. padding barefoot to your front door in pajama shorts and oversized shirt that slipped off one shoulder. your face was bare and probably your eyebags were dark.
you opened the door, thinking it was a deliveryman who got confused.
what you didn’t expect was daniela. in her outfit from earlier morning, except her makeup was slightly smudged and her face looked like she didn’t have a good day with her guy.
"..daniela..?"
the woman wordlessly hugged you as her body began to shook and sobs came out of her mouth.
your hands draped uselessly on your side before your brain started to function again and gently rubbed daniela's back in attempts to comfort.
you just wish she doesn't hear how fast your heart is beating right now.
she pulled back and rambled apologies despite her voice shaking and sobs cutting in between words.
"hey, hey. come in first, it's cold out there." you gently cut off, guiding her in and closing the door.
"i-im sorry...i..i didn't know where to go.." daniela explained, voice raspy and breaking.
"it's ok..uh..thanks for trusting me..i guess.." you stammered, rubbing your neck.
then you mentally slapped yourself for letting her just stand.
"oh! you can sit by the way. make yourself home." you said, gesturing to the couch before spotting the messy coffee table.
"shit, wait. sorry for the mess." you fumbled to the coffee table and packed the cans into a plastic and discarding the mess.
daniela walks and sits on the couch, visibly relaxing as she sanked down on the soft layers of your blanket and pillows.
a sigh escaped her mouth, "this feels comforting," she whispered.
you look at her from the kitchen and laughed softly as your hands grabbed two cans of beer from your fridge.
"beer?" you asked.
a faint 'yeah' reached your ears and you began walking to the couch.
daniela looked up and grabbed the can from your hands. her fingers slightly brushed with yours and you felt that spark come to life again.
you tried to be unbothered as you sat down in a good distance from her. you played the video and immediately remembered what you were watching.
daniela lets out an amused chuckle as she looks at you.
"kdramas?" she asked, eyes amused.
you shyly shrugged.
as you both fell into silence, the kdrama the only noise in between, daniela spoke again.
"i got played." her voice came out a whisper.
you paused, about to take a sip. you set the can down and turned your head to her.
she was looking down, can hanging feom her grip as she bit her lip.
"i..i knew..i had..." she sighs, looking up and laughing bitterly. "i never learn.."
you silently watch her. until she rubbed her arms and that's when you'd realize again. you mentally cursed yourself and stood up.
"y--you can borrow my clothes, by the way...i. you look uncomfortable in those.." you stammer out.
daniela looks up at you and smiles. "thanks, yn. i'd appreciate that."
you nodded and went to grab comfortable clothes she could wear. daniela lifts her head up as you returned and held out a loose shirt with anime print on it and some comfortable shorts.
"my room's that way." you pointed.
daniela nods and mutters a small thank you before walking.
you padded to your fridge to prepare something to eat because you're a good hostess and you weren't about to let your crush starve.
only finding a tub of ice cream, you closed the fridge and decided on ordering takeout instead. as you turned, you see daniela return and you swore your heart went from 10 to 1000 real quick.
she looks so good in your clothes.
you noticed her makeup was gone. she flashed a small smile.
"i kind of used some of your products, sorry."
you shook your head, reassuring her it was ok.
"no, it's fine, really. i don't mind." you said.
she settles down on a chair and leans on the counter, watching you work on your phone.
"what you doing?" she asks, chin on her palm.
"ordering takeout. what do you want?" you ask, looking up and immediately wishing you didn’t because your heart just skipped a beat again with how she's propped on her chin and looking at you.
"fried chicken and fries." daniela answered.
you nodded and looked back down on your phone, trying to hide a faint blush creeping on your cheek.
daniela lets her eyes wander from you to the interior of your apartment. then her eyes landed on a discarded beer box. she chuckles.
you lift your head, looking at her.
"do you just have a stack of beer in your fridge?" daniela asks.
you nodded, wondering why she asked.
daniela leaves her seat and walks to your fridge to open it, only to answer her question. she let's out an amused laugh before taking one can.
"unbelievable."
...
"ugh, i love fried chicken so much."
daniela moaned as she bit down on her second drumstick.
you chuckled and took a sip of your beer, watching her devour a plateful of chicken.
"how'd you even know my address by the way?" you asked, curious as to how she got here.
daniela chuckles, swallowing her food before speaking.
"last night, you were so drunk that you told me the pillow smelled different so i told you you were in my apartment. then you began to tell me your address with very specific details and now im here thanks to the pink flower pot outside." daniela said, leaving you agape for a second before embarrassment flooded your system.
you groaned, "i'm never drinking again!"
daniela giggled watching you. the sound so pleasing to your ears. you let yourself stare at her.
the latina licks her fingers clean. the sight had you stuck watching her, eyes dropping to her lips that wrapped around her finger.
you didn’t even notice you licked your lip and inhaled deeply. but daniela saw, and her eyes changed. from looking at you with mirth to one of dangerous amusement.
"you're staring." she said, snapping you out of your stupor.
your face flushed as you immediately looked away. a trembling hand reaching for the can and bringing it to your lips.
as you took a sip, daniela spoke again.
"you like me too much, do you?"
you almost choked on the drink.
after coughing pathetically and daniela watching with dangerous amusement, you took a few breaths for turning to her.
"yeah i do," you whispered.
"really?" daniela asked, voice low and raspy that scratched your brain in a good way.
the two of you locked eyes, daniela's eyes piercing right through yours and there was something in those brown orbs that made you feel something. maybe it was the challenge in them, as if asking you to show her.
"yeah, i fucking do," you muttered, this time louder and feeling challenged.
daniela inches closer, eyes never leaving yours and a small smirk tugging on her lips. she leaned even closer, to your ear and let her breath fan over.
and with her a low and raspy voice, like a whisper of temptation, "why don't you show me?"
she pulled back slightly to look at your reaction and her smirk grew at your expression. mouth parted, eyes in conflict and your breath ragged.
then you closed the distance.
claiming daniela's lips, hesitant at first but as you felt her lips move against yours, you pushed closer. her hands snaked around your neck, one hand threading through your hair while yours cradled her jaw.
when daniela felt your tongue prod on her lips, her hands moved to your shoulders to gently push you away.
your eyes flew open, immediately missing the feeling of her lips.
"i..i'm..i haven't done this before..not with a girl..i..yn.." daniela says, eyes meeting yours.
you grab her hand from your shoulder and brought it up to your cheek, pressing a soft kiss on the palm.
“please…” you whisper, voice trembling.
“i… i can make you feel better…” another kiss, just above her knuckles this time, lingering longer. she doesn’t pull away. instead, her thumb brushes against your jaw, and you swallow hard.
“i can… i can treat you right…” you say breathlessly, leaning into her warmth, pressing one last kiss to the center of her palm.
you lean in, pausing just inches away if she would pull away, but she didn’t. your lips met hers again and this time, you moved hungrily against hers.
hunger creeps in, the kind that’s desperate, frantic, impossible to stop.
“i… i shouldn’t—” she gasps between kisses, voice shaky, but her hands pull you closer, dragging you impossibly near.
her body presses into yours, betraying every word she utters. you could taste the contradiction in her mouth, salty, sweet, urgent.
daniela's back met the couch with a soft thud, cushioned by the blankets and pillows.
“yn… i… shou—” her protest dies on her lips as you press your mouth to hers again, deep, claiming.
her fingers curl into your hair, tugging softly, pulling you closer, betraying every word she just tried to speak.
you pulled away for a second to admire her before her lips chased yours and claimed yours with the same hunger.
her hands crawled from your hair, exploring, wandering, tracing every curve as if memorizing you.
you moaned softly into her, breath hitching as her palms cupped your chest, careful yet insistent, claiming you in ways words could never.
breaking away from her lips, you trail wet, heated kisses along her jaw, down to the delicate curve of her neck.
she shivers under you, hands moving from your chest back to your hair, tugging softly, her breath hitches with every kiss, every touch, and the pull of her fingers in your hair only drives you further, deeper into the delicious chaos of her body and yours.
"a-ah..i shouldn't..f..fuck.."
she gasps as you sucked on a spot you found to be her sensitive spot. her hands pull you closer despite how her words try to push you away.
every gasp, every quiver, betrays her denial, screaming the truth she won’t admit: she wants this, wants you, just as desperately.
maybe it’s the alcohol coursing through her veins, loosening her restraint, or maybe it’s the sting of being played by a guy, the ache of betrayal still raw in her chest.
whatever it is, it pushes her closer to you.
you lean back, catching the way a soft whimper left her mouth as she tried to chase your lips.
your hands framed her waist, leaning down to leave a trail of kisses on her collarbone to every exposed skin, hands slightly tugging on the shirt. her body arches into yours despite the “no” trembling on her lips, a soft sigh slipping past her teeth, betraying everything.
daniela shouldn't want this. no. but you’re too fucking good at this. at making the ache, the sting, the betrayal she just endured, to vanish.
and then she stops. really stops.
she lets herself surrender. lets herself be carried away by the storm of sensations, your hands, your lips, the way your touch erases the pain of everything she’s been through.
her hands press against your chest, pushing you back just slightly, shaky but deliberate.
then she peels her shirt off, hesitating for a fraction of a second, and you’re already moving, helping her, fingers brushing skin, heart hammering.
the discarded shirt lands somewhere forgotten, and before she can catch her breath, you lean into her lips again.
you gently pulled away from her lips and bent down, your mouth closing on her nipple as your tongue flicked and danced across the hardened bud.
daniela threw her head back against the pillow, biting her lips.
"..fuck.." she moaned, hands tugging on your hair.
your tongue traced slow circles, savoring the taste of her skin as her grip tightened, pulling you deeper into the moment.
your hand cupped the other, fingers kneading and squeezing the soft flesh, teasing her nipple until it hardened beneath your touch.
sighs and breathy moans slipped continuously from daniela’s lips, each one a trembling confession. you were so damn good at driving her wild.
you latched onto the other breast, lavishing it with the same attention, then released it with a soft pop before claiming her lips once more. her lips, once hesitant, were now hungry against yours.
daniela’s breath hitched as your hand slid to tug at the waistband of her shorts. your eyes locked with hers, silent and pleading, while your lips traced gentle kisses over her skin, pausing slightly with each one.
“please...” you whispered softly.
“let me treat you better. let me love you better." your voice thick with longing.
her eyes fluttered open, taking in the way you were looking at her with desperation and hunger in your eyes as your voice shook, pleading.
"do it.." she whispers, pulling your face close.
"love me better.." a kiss on your ear,
"love me like im the only one that matters..." and on your lips.
she pulls just enough to look at you, eyes glassy, swimming with too many emotions to name. the look she gives you urged you to please her. the world narrows to her, her warmth, her breath that caressed your face, her scent, the she whispers your name.
you closed the gap between you, lips colliding and moving together. breaths tangled, sighs and moans filled the room that night. the heat in the house contradicting the cold downpour outside, creating a foggy window.
...
the sun's bright light shone through your windows, waking you up from your deep slumber. you winced at the brightness and turned your back to it. as you did, you smelled the faint perfume of someone else.
that someone being daniela.
when it finally registered to you, your eyes flew open and expected someone on your bed but you were alone. your hand touched the spot where you thought daniela laid and slept.
she left before you even woke up. you look for your phone and found it on the nightstand. grabbing it, you tried turning it on but it was dead. you grumbled before charging it and left the bed to start the day.
walking butt naked to the bathroom, you stopped by the mirror to admire yourself (more like pity yourself). your eyes fell on the faint bruises on your neck, unmistakably daniela's.
you chuckled lightly before shaking your head.
after you finished your morning routine, you went back to your phone to check what you missed.
a couple missed calls from lara, unread messages from lara...and daniela.
like a good friend you were, you opened daniela's first before lara's. but you wished you didn't because what you read broke your mood.
you closed the phone and tossed it on the bed. a sharp exhale escaped your mouth before a bitter chuckle followed.
"of course, that'd happen."
a tear rolled down your cheeks. you reached for your phone and looked at it one last time, the unread messages stacking up, one name standing out.
