i am 29 today……..
im not feeling some kinda way about being almost 30. but i AM feeling some kinda way about my life being completely different than it was a year ago, and a year from NOW it will probably also be completely different AGAIN??
5 years ago i was lovesick for a guy who didn’t really like me, because i didn’t think anyone else would ever like me more
4 years ago i moved two and a half hours from everything i’d ever known to be with him, but i never fully unpacked
a year ago i had a stable long term relationship and stable housing and a stable retail job and i was achingly unhappy
6 months ago i was hurting, separated from my cat, feeling like a burden to my friends, burnt the fuck out at work, just found positive for the BRCA2 gene
this week i started my new (non-retail!) monday thru friday job
two weeks ago, i moved my cat into my girlfriend’s house (and he’s acclimatized incredibly well!!!)
next week, im viewing an apartment. i will finally have a space that is MINE, and i won’t worry constantly that im taking up too much space or overextending my welcome
today, im having a birthday party. i don’t think ive ever had a birthday party with friends. im making brunch :-)
