NCIS New Orleans Season 2 Premiere (Spoiler Alert)
EXPLOSION! End scene 1. Thus the season premiere begins with a high tech military missile being stolen by none other than good old home-grown terrorists. Just another day in New Orleans everyone. Two military men are killed in the explosion. Through quick forensic work that is not at all realistic to how it actually happens (which by the way, every crime show does this) the team finds their suspect, Mark Yaden. They corner Yaden in a park and after shouting the ever popular phrase, “Sic Semper Tyrannis”, as made popular by John Wilkes Booth, kills himself. Before this event, this separatist group did not do anything big. Dwayne Pride goes undercover in this group as another home-grown terrorist and meets a young man named Connor, who proceeds to inform Pride that they are going to attack a navy ship. Meanwhile, Brody and LaSalle are trying to find a way to take down the group without exposing Pride as an agent. They succeed, not before Pride finds out that the “leader” of the group has been dead for months before the recruiting videos that were circulated came out. And thus the day was saved by NCIS.
Although this show is new, and only on its second season, it still hold true to the foundations set up by NCIS. It is the only NCIS show that is actually filmed at the location it is set in. You have your Gibbs equivalent in Agent Dwayne Pride. Sebastian Lund is a little like McGee. Dr. Wade who reminds me of the ever-loveable Ducky. Also a number of the original NCIS characters make surprise appearances on the show. Tony DiNozzo and Abby Sciuto appear in an episode together. Ducky also appears in the first episode of the series. All in all, this show has some great potential to reach NCIS level of popularity and as an avid fan of the original series I give my stamp of approval.
