“in my defence…” you start, awkwardly shrugging your shoulder and scratching at your cheek, “i’m redecorating..? not the best time to invite company over, i know. but i wasn’t exactly thinking about that when i said to you.” you suck in your lip and offer her what can only be presumed as a hopeful smile. you know, you know, your place could certainly use a touch up, but you didn’t want to make a bad impression either. and defence, it seemed, was the way to go about that. “but i’m all ears for improvements. you want to share some of that knowledge? i could use it.”
Lexie let out a rather light sigh, she could at least relate to inviting people over in the middle of redecorating chaos. “The first rule of inviting people over in the middle of redecorating is not to let them know you’re redecorating,” She offered as she gestured to the area. “Another thing, is when hosting, get a variety of snacks for guests. Maybe even a cheese platter with some cured meats or a simple veggie or vegan platter. On the upside, the books do make it seem more homey.”
