Cason knew that his head was pounding as he kept his eyes firmly closed, he could feel the morning sun that was burning him lightly in it’s glow, he stirred. Cason had been having one of those dreams that he wished he never had to wake up from, it’d been a happier time in his life. But it wasn’t a true memory of it, just one his brain had orchestrated; he wasn’t sure if it was to induce pain or to relinquish the bad memory he had of it. Either way a small smile had worked it’s way onto his face, eyes still firmly closed.
The bark however jolted him back to reality of the night before, realising he was in fact not in his own bed but the one of his new friend, Evie. He let one eye open as he peaked at her for a moment a joking groan as he rolled over and buried his face into the pillow. He loved dogs but he wished he could have stayed in that moment for just a little while longer.
‘‘Don’t apologise, all kind of pups are the best kinda pups’‘ Cason called out with his face still buried in the pillow, finally twisting until he was once again on his back, taking another look at her and a grin broke out across his mouth as he laughed lightly. ‘‘I’m not allergic, don’t you worry.’‘ He pushed to sit up as he ran a hand through his unruly hair, looking over too her and taking in her morning beauty for just a second, a snap shot, an image he’d captured in his mind.
‘‘I have to say Evie..’‘ he trailed off as he shook his head slightly. ‘‘You were exceptional last night.’‘ Cason stated and put it bluntly. He didn’t want to sugar coat it, hoping that it wouldn’t get weird because all he could say was that he’d enjoyed himself. It made him feel free, something that he very rarely felt these days. The connection was fantastic, and that was what he liked, nothing too complicated. ‘‘I honestly think you could teach me…a lot.’‘ He laughed.
It was one thing he’d never felt confident in about himself, maybe it was because there had never been many women in his life. He’d always been a long term relationship, the exploration had never been his strong suit but he was amazed by the woman beside me.
Evie cradled Honey in her arms, stroking the Pomeranian’s orange fur. “Good, because she doesn’t like going anywhere when I ask her to give me a moment. Also, good morning. I hope you slept well before Honey decided to be an alarm clock?” she asked, sitting on the edge of the bed next to Cason. Sex with no strings attached was fun, and she knew Cason well enough to know what to expect as opposed to swiping right on a random person on Tinder. Running a hand through her now tousled dark locks, attempting to smooth them over somewhat. “Slept well, at least?” she asked kindly, glancing at him as he began waking up. It had been a while since she woke up next to someone, as her flings usually left before the sun rose the following morning.
She couldn’t help but beam with pride when Cason complimented her skills in the bedroom. Years of experience and experimenting certainly led to a level of expertise, and she was glad to share her skills with the few people she deemed worthy. Cason should consider himself lucky to be included in that lineup. “I’ve been told that I’m a phenomenal teacher,” she responded, lying on her side and using her hand to prop her head up. Sex with Cason was fun, and she felt a connection - not necessarily a romantic one, but definitely like she trusted him and was able to enjoy herself as much as he did. “But thanks for reassuring me that my skills are still top-notch, I’d admit that it’s been a while since I got some practice,” the brunette admitted, giving him a light shrug and then gently tracing his bicep with her index finger. “But I guess we can learn together. What’s your plan for the rest of the day? Working on the next masterpiece?”
