No one asked, but today I will be explaining why I’m predicting Orange’s name will be Vulcan
And for the record, I came up with this theory in August 2020, actually found the name earlier but I can’t prove that and August 2020 was the first time I posted about it so
First, let’s review the criteria the name must fit
It must end in “us”
It must be two syllables
It must be related to/originate from ancient Rome/Roman mythology
I also have a hunch that team will try to throw us another curveball by have Orange’s name break one of these rules, and I think it will be the “-us” rule because A) it has been broken before, and B) because of the foreshadowing that the ending of the name has some importance and C) because we tend to fixate on name end rules.
Virgil, our dear anxious bud, former dark side, obviously is the one who breaks the “-us” name rule, but not entirely. Because he is named after Vergilius the roman poet of course. I think it will be a similar situation with orange. Now let’s remember Patton, dear ol’ Patton, who poked fun at theorist at Virgil’s name reveal. “But shouldn’t it end with an “an” or “on” like... Virgan?” I wouldn’t put it past the team for that to be extra foreshadowing and that like is more important than it seems. If orange has a name ending in “an” or “on” which is associated with light sides, then that could say something interesting about him. I personally think he could think of himself as a light side perhaps, especially since he probably shortened his own name, like how Virgil did which is why he was nervous about sharing, because he wanted so badly to be accepted and if his name ending in “us” that would have bad associations and it also represents him rejecting his dark side history etc etc So basically, Orange’s name could be a three syllable name that’s shortened like Virgil.
That brings me to Vulcanus, the roman god of fire, which I think he’ll be named after, and to fit the two syllable rule it would be shortened to Vulcan. (It also fits the pattern with the names have 5/6 letters). Roman god of fire, ticks that third box of the roman theme and... god of fire? For our most likely rage ball son— need I say more? And you can not tell me those fire sound effects with the orange eyes in wtit don’t mean anything. I rest my case.
So—
I think Orange will be named after the roman god of fire, Vulcanus, and his name will be Vulcan.
As a side note about what exactly Orange would represent, I think Orange might introduce himself as Justice, but that’s not entirely accurate to what he really is. I can’t think of another word for it though, maybe Revenge/Vengence? Spite? Could work? But I think Orange would be that specific kind of anger that makes you want to... well take revenge. Pay back. Orange would have just as strong a moral code as Patton, except he solves all his problems with violence—
I’ve seen some people say he can’t be anger though because of Patton representing emotions and I just wanted to add then that you could use the same logic to say Virgil can’t represent anxiety because Patton is emotions and being anxious is an emotion. There’s heaps of overlap with all of the sides. Do with that what you will. (Don’t know if I explain that well but yEE).
