Mckenzie let out a soft laugh as Lexi threw her arms around her. Even being nearly tackled by excitement felt perfect when it was Lexi. For a second, she just stood there, smiling into the moment as it truly sank in, this was real. Their place. Their next step. No more wishing for it. “Your stuff absolutely ends up everywhere,” she said first, because she couldn’t let that pass, though the warmth in her voice betrayed her teasing. Her gaze flicked around the apartment, already imagining traces of them in every room. Then she looked back at Lexi, expression softening completely. “Yeah,” she murmured, thumbs brushing gently against her skin. “I can believe it, because it’s you and me. We can do anything we put our minds too." She turned in her arms to face Lexi. “I want this more than anything,” she admitted quietly. “I want to wake up next to you every day, argue over who's turn it is to turn the lights off at night time , trip over your shoes in the hallway, all of it.” A grin tugged at her lips as she tucked a strand of hair behind Lexi’s ear. "I want to live with my girlfriend."
lexi was utterly excited. she'd felt happy before, of course she had, but it was different when it was mckenzie. mckenzie excited her in a way nobody else ever could, and lexi was pretty sure nobody would ever top that. as mckenzie once again pointed out how her things somehow ended up everywhere, she smirked. "oh, so you're not okay with undressing me whenever you want?" she nodded dramatically, pretending to be offended. "okay, okay. no more spontaneous make-out sessions on the couch, fine." she raised her hands in surrender. "we'll schedule our romantic time properly so my stuff doesn't end up all over the place," she joked. but as the conversation drifted back to how excited they both were, her smile softened. she couldn't wait for the little things. falling asleep beside her every night. waking up next to her every morning. sharing routines and lazy weekends and grocery runs. all of it. "you're pointing out how much of a mess i am a lot. are you sure you want this?" she teased, sliding her hands to mckenzie's hips and pulling her a little closer. "because i really, really want to live with my girlfriend. more than anything." leaning forward, she pressed a quick kiss to mckenzie's lips before grinning again. "i'm so ready to move our stuff in here. i can already picture our decorations everywhere. it's finally going to feel like ours."
