Like many, Iāve been playing the new tomodachi game.
Iām deceased. They are too cute. Also, Jesse is obsessed with Walt. They skipped past the slow burn and went straight to love, bitch. Now theyāre codependent.
i donāt understand people who love a problematic character but get angry when people mention the evil things that character did. like, thatās your man! heās proud he did all that, support his hobbies!
I think heād like to think heās a lion or something. Maybe even a wolf.
I think heās something like a great horned owl. Great horned owls are often very territorial, especially once theyāve found their āmateā or āpair.ā They are pretty solitary animals, meaning they donāt spend a lot of time in groups or packs like many animals do. They mostly think about themselves.
Once they break off into pairs, again, here Iām thinking about Jesse. Not Skyler. Cause we all know thatās not ā¦ I mean, sheās not ā¦ I love her, but sheās not Waltāsā¦ you know?
Anyway, once they break off into pairs, they are fiercely protective of their mate. Theyāll kill their own kind, even their own offspring for encroaching on anything that is ātheirs.ā And theyāve been known to be aggressive or drive off even their own mates when stressed or their territory is threatened. (hello, waltjesse?)
Walt can be quick to react when anything comes in the way of his empire or his relationship with Jesse. But, at the same time, he can also watch and be calculating, and intelligent, and wait. Just like the owl, it depends on his goal. If itās territorial aggression Walt is dealing with, itās quick and reaction based. If itās something that he needs more of a plan for, heās cunning and lurking. Just as the owl will usually hide from above just until they need to attack when theyāre hunting vs. just lashing out if itās territory aggression.
Plus, people usually see owls as āwiseā and āpatientā and ādignified.ā And Walt likes to present himself in this way when he can manage it. But they can be quite ruthless, even to their own kind. They catch prey, even more than they need at times, and they hoard it for later. A twisted sense of control almost.
And when you see these behaviors in the owl, especially when it comes to their mate and their territory, it can almost seem out of loyalty. And some of it is that in a way. But itās mostly out of possession and protection.
Walter White looked sooooo fucking good in s4 and S5 though. Like I get it. I get why Jesse went a little insane. I get why he was so torn up. Dick from a scary dad guy?? Shit I'd be a codependent bitch with wet eyes too

He didnāt just manipulate Jesse to unknowable lengths; he also manipulated me. Walt commits crimes both physically and emotionally, because damn. The wrinkles? Distinguished. The shaved head? A trap. The facial hair? Goodbye my sense of self.
Am I proud of this opinion? No. Will I change? Also no. That man is going to hell, and I am booking the next flight there.

Iām sticking to BrBa, not BCS for this Q. To be honest, I have a one-track obsession with wjāand tend to focus on one pairing in fandoms anyway. When it comes to Jesse, I fear I have a slight Walt vibe going on, meaning I donāt really love anyone else to get near him to be honest. Iām not a self-shipper, but that man belongs to Walt in my book. (Sorry, Jesse!)
As far as other ships go, Iāve seen some interesting fan art for Skyler/Saul. I could see that! I like the one-sided Gale/Walt, where Gale is just a guy whoās trying to impress a man whoās already got another man on his mind.
Either way, Iām really down with anything except when it takes Jesse away? ā¦ Do I sound too much like WW? God. I hear it, too.
This is such a hard question. I think I have a lot of the same ones that a lot of people do. Things that could have happened in the RV, why Walt did some of the things he did (and how it comes back to his fucked up version of love for jesse), and so on.
But I think instead of getting into thoseāsince a lot of people doāIāll just give some other random/small ones!
You know how Walt taped himself in the beginning? I like to think when he was out isolated in NH, he had Jesse on his mind a lot. And during this time, he kept tape recordings (or letters) of himself just talking. Heās not sure why. Posterity, maybe. Sometimes he documents his time as āHeisenberg,ā sometimes he talks about the cancer or his family, but most times he talks to Jesse. I think he has at least one deleted tape of him apologizing, crying maybe, being patheticāmuch like the episode where he cries to Junior/Flynn.
I think one of them, probably Jesse, has kept clothing of the other for at least a little while. Likely during the RV days. A button up or a sweater just happen to be left. Walt doesnāt see it for weeks. It shows up again, and jesse jokes about how he was going to pawn it. But really he just kept it around, and neither man mentions it.
I think Walt or Jesse had to have almost slipped up and said the otherās name during sex? Could you imagine Skylerās reaction? I donāt think Walt would say it full on unless he was medicated or drunk, but maybe a thought or a whisper. More like āJeā and then the rest is just a breath. Just enough to make Skyler wonder if sheās crazy.
I think sometimes Walt would make Jesse redo things just to keep him around longer. We know Walt knows deep down that Jesse is just as good as he is at cooking. Even at the end of the series, when he figures out the blue meth is still being made, Badger and Pete say that itās better than ever. And Walt says, āJesse,ā as he knows nobody else would be able to do it. But even if Jesse does do things right in the lab, I think Walt would keep him around, complaining about how this wasnāt clean or that wasnāt done properly. Just to keep him around a little longer.
Walt leaves his ātraceā in Jesseās apartment/house. He moves things sometimes. He runs his fingers across things. He adjusts or fixes things. Just because he likes knowing that when he leaves, parts of him will still be there. He has the ability to come in and do as he pleases, and to other people, like Jane, itās a little bit of a āfuck you, Iām the one who put those pillows thereāevery part of me is here still.ā
