Salinas Grandes is definitely a sight to see! This is the fourth biggest salt flat in South America that was created, not by the ocean but, from volcanic activity in the earth! We traveled all the way up to the North of Argentina to ride a salty llama and take some of the best photos to date! Don’t worry, nobody was harmed in the making of these photos. Let me tell you a funny little story… Two years ago, when I came to Australia, I was hopping around from hostel to hostel. I landed in Manly at the Backpackers hostel and I met an Argentinian girl named Daphne. I had never met anyone from Argentina before on my travels, but I remember admiring Daphne for her “don’t give a fxck” attitude and her passion for travel. She was only 18 and had already traveled to more countries than I could ever dream of going. She also knew e v e r y o n e in Manly even though she was a backpacker, like me. Little did I know that the entire community in Manly and the surrounding beaches was filled will people from all over Argentina! Fast forward to today. I am now surrounded by the best of Argentina!!! Ask me two years ago if I were to come to Australia to learn and speak Spanish, I would say no. Easily. Life had another exciting plan for me. I met and fell in love with a man from a small city in the North of Argentina called Tucumán. Our friends are from all over Argentina and they constantly share their culture with me. We are brought together by our love for surfing, travel, and reggaeton! I could not be happier to call these wonderful people my home away from home. . Happy Spring here in Australia! The sun is so warm but the water is still so cold, especially in the local rock pools. Did you know, that the temperature in the rock pools are a few degrees colder than the actual ocean because the cement absorbs any warmth in the pools!? (Just dip in a toe to accurately find out the temperature 😂) I would much rather do an ocean swim to train, but the pools are where I’m developing most of my technique for my triathlon. At least the views are absolutely stunning.
