the best thing about the recent event is i'm seeing ronan's process of healing. who knew a person who had trauma, insomnia, and survivor's guilt would be opening a diner to serve delicious cuisine imbued with joy magic, and listen like a therapist to the tales and troubles of his customers?

late for 5/20...

been thinking about these two never catching a break while they were separated. ronan's insomnia got worse during his time as a wandering bard where he spent most of his nights clutching his head and crying. for harpe, sleep was only about closing his eyes because enemies in the palace were everywhere, and he couldn't let his facade break.

the only true rest they had was when they reunited and made love for the very first time (releasing all their frustrations and repressed feelings). ronan was able to get through the night without waking from nightmares, and harpe was vulnerable. he was usually the first to get up between him and ronan, but this time he just wanted to stay in bed until late afternoon...
