as always, the sound of the old fan is not enough to dull her thoughts to lull her to sleep. she had stolen the old thing out of her room at her grandparents, well what used to be her room at least. the room had new occupants as of the last few months, there not being enough space to cram in her parents’ things as well as her own into the humble living space. she had bit her tongue and said it didn’t bother her, but yet her mind always traced back to her home.
well, the dorms were her home now, as much as her grandparents house had ever been. after moving the last of her things out and fully into the agency dorms, everything felt like it had fallen into place for the most part. miyoung had everything she needed: her childhood stuffed animals ( that she absolutely did not still sleep with ), her favorite pillow, that stupid old fan that wasn’t loud enough to send her into a much needed sleep. especially not tonight.
this was the first new years eve the woman had spent away from her grandparents in years, not wanting to see her parents anymore than what was necessary. some of her roommates were in, causing festive commotions in the living area just outside her closed door, but she had retired to her room before the clock even neared midnight. so she had nothing else to blame for her loneliness on this incoming new year other than her sour ass mood.
still, she pouted scrolling through her instagram feed before ultimately closing the app with a sigh. wallowing in this self pity would get her nowhere, and finding to grant herself some mercy, she pulled up her contacts list instead. and then she pressed on his name, shoving a pillow between her arms and under her chin as she stared back at her reflection in the screen. waiting for him to answer her facetime call. ┈┈ 【 HUNJI 】
