Just opened uma musume for the first time in months and found this
Is this yay or nay?
I still have no idea of how to properly play this game btw (nor how I made this tbh)
So You Want to Design an UTAU
Hello I’ve been meaning to post this for a long time, as someone who puts care into creating my UTAUs. I thought it might be useful to some people.
This is part guide and part inside look at what I do while creating my own UTAUs. I hope it helps someone.

COUNTERARGUMENT THEORY
I’ve seen people comment that Pomni’s torture scenario was kind of weak compared to the others, and that it could be because she hasn’t been in the circus as long, thus Caine can’t personalize her punishment as well.
And even if he’s technically using their traumas to hurt them, I don’t think that was his main intention. I think he was “replying” to their criticisms.
Pomni: We think your ideas suck!
Including Gummigoo, Pomni?
Zooble: Pathetic! You’re like a child! What kind of all-powerful being has such fragile ego?
How can someone, whose body perfectly encapsulates their mind and is fully customizable, not feel satisfied yet? How many options do you need? How vain can you be, Zooble?
First of all, I know that Zooble most likely suffers from dysphoria, and Caine focusing the torture scenario on that was a massive dick move on his part, especially when Zooble had shared their insecurities about their body in a previous episode.
However, in that same episode, Caine shared with Zooble his own insecurities.
Caine: Making adventures is my art! It’s all I exist to do! All I am… good at. (…) … w-what you’re saying could imply that I’m bad at the only thing I’m good at, and that…
I’m just saying that he probably took Zooble’s criticism as a low blow of its own and he made it personal.
Ragatha: You never let us feel like we’re at home.
Which home? Yours, Ragatha?
Gangle: You discourage us from thinking outside the box and doing things our way!
Spudsy’s was a hell of your own making, Gangle.
Jax: You lie to us constantly!
And you don’t, Jax?
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 8 OF TADC
I Hope This Series Gets One Piece Kind Of Long 🥹♥️
Edit: Omg I've just seen I wrote live instead of life 😭💀💀
Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
This is horrible I can't see the number of notes on my posts at all without adding up everything in the chain
Cursed cursed cursed evil evil evil
This is a terrible idea. Horrible.
EXTREMELY BAD HOLY FUCK.
This would kill the entire point of the reblog chain. Staff, please, don't do this. It will transform the reblog chain in just plain twitter quotes.
Seriously, this is a tumblr-killer feature. This breaks the most fundamental way tumblr is different from any other social network. This makes tumblr just another blueskytwitterthreads. Or worse: An unfederated mastodon clone.
Please, stop this. Please, don't roll this out.
Please, mutuals, post about this, comment and reblog the original post (while you still can without making it your own quote-post). I don't know if staff is looking or if the feedback would matter, but seriously, this is a terrible change that would kill tumblr as we know it. Please, don't roll it out.
look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.
But this. This changes the data architecture. This changes the SINGLE THING that makes tumblr the "... yes and" website. This KILLS THE COLLABORATIVE POSTING THAT MAKES THIS SITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER MEDIA PLATFORMS.
Please, don't do this. Please, don't ship this.
Tumblr has explicitly said in the past that they do not look at comments on their updates posts. You have to PUT IN A SUPPORT TICKET AND SELECT FEEDBACK FROM THE DROPDOWN

We should indulge in the potential yuri of post-canon Heinkel and Seras, carrying on the tension that Anderson and Alucard had before them
OKEY BUT ACTUALLY
So like, I tried to make a cool thing (nothing more specific, "cool" was the only thing that came to mind when thinking of what to draw) and NGL, considering how I did in the past I'd say this came out pretty well and I learned quite a lot of things.
First of all, I tried to replicate this trick for drawing hands from lavendertowne and NGL, despite me not doing it perfectly it felt really effective.
On top of that, I learned how to use layer modes and groups for shading more effectively than before.
Lastly I also decided to use this drawing as a way to experiment on the capture tool for speedpaints on krita and ngl, THAT didn't go well at all. You can watch my process here, as I doubt I will end up posting the video directly on Tumblr as this is my third attempt at this post. And this is just posting. When it comes to the stuff that happened before this post, I'll just say that trying to make this speedpaint has somehow led to my laptop's Bluetooth not working (which has already been fixed)
hello fellow artists. google has fallen. pinterest/duckduckgo AI filters don't work. do not despair; here is a list i made of places to find reference images without having to sift through piles of worthless garbage. (for future editing convenience i am just linking my blog post on dreamwidth.)
✨ good places to find art reference that are not full of AI trash 🌈
reblogging for personal use
ART REFERENCE NOT FULL OF AI?! YESSS
THANK YOU
It's beautiful how I had a problem with my pc being unable to open and read properly an MP4 file and decided to try and fix it for myself but I somehow ended up breaking the PC's Bluetooth connection by installing official driver updates from the intel website itself
Is anyone here familiar (or know someone who is familiar) with installing multiple Kasane Teto UTAU voicebanks on the old UTAU?
I wanted to install the whisper one (I have only the standard one as of now) and I'm using the method suggested on the official website (aka the drag and drop method) except that to install the whisper one the program asks me to delete the standard one (because the directory is called the same) and I feel like this isn't a good thing, especially if it happens with ALL the other Teto voicebanks (and it doesn't help that the voicebank isn't even installed in the "voice folder, so in case I want to modify some names for readability I have to go on an expedition in the directories of my pc)
I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned this a few months ago but in October I read Tokyo Ghoul and while reading it I got suggested by YouTube the song "butcher vanity" by flavour Foley and that caused a whole hyperfixation. So yeah, I learned UTAU and made a cover of it with Kasane Teto! If you decide to listen to it, hope you enjoy it!!
Here's the art for the video:
I decided to make Teto a half ghoul to reference the timing of me discovering the song, and because Teto is a chimera
This is a piece that I made for a drawing challenge (Christmas edition) last year but then got too demotivated to post it after finishing it. Better late than never I guess.
Anyways Happy Holidays folks! I hope you don't get carbon for your gift unlike his deer fella!
I never knew that lemons could get this big tbh, usually in the supermarket you find them pretty small
Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this 👇
And this gem 👇
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
📺Here is my list:
Proko (Free, mostly teaches anatomy and how to draw people. But does have art talks and teaches the basics.)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard and teaches you everything)
Aaron Rutten (free, tips about art, talks about art programs and the best products for digital art)
BoroCG (free, teaches a verity of art mediums from 3D modeling to digital painting. As well as some tips that can be used across styles)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free, teaches digital painting and has classes in Spanish)

Drawbox (a suggested cheap online art school, made of a community of artist)
Skillshare (A cheap learning site that has art classes ranging from traditional to digital. As well as Animation and tutorials on art programs. All under one price, in the USA it's around $34 a month)
Human anatomy for artist (not a video or teacher but the site is full of awesome refs to practice and get better at anatomy)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates. Galaxy, Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone, Android, or Chromebook device. )
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99 usd, IPAD & IPHONE ONLY)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, animation and more. Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Aseprite ($19.99 usd but has a free trail, for pixel art Windows & macOS)
Drawpile (free and for if you want to draw with others)
IbisPaint (free, phone app ONLY)
Medibang (free, IPAD, Android and PC)
NOTE: Some of these can work on almost any computer like Clip and Sai but others will require a bit stronger computer like Blender. Please check their sites for if your computer is compatible.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
"also apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, I have Dyslexia and it makes my brain go XP when it comes to speech or writing"
Boosting this in case any of the programs and books suggested are useful.
All the photos on this tumblr ad the animal photo reference site I run is another resource available for artists to use!
As long as you’re not using AI to create your art, you can reference / trace / draw / recombine / make any sort of art you want, with any of the photos, for free.
There's also MORPHO, a really good book series on anatomy by Michel Lauricella, with very clear explanations and sketches!
And for pose references, there's @adorkastock who shares a ton of them for free, with different models and props, and her website is amazing <3 you can also buy pose packs from her.
The pdf for Almost TGCF is now available for free on Ko-Fi! The content is the exact same as the physical copy, so if you missed it, now you can read it!
(Reminder that you can still purchase a physical copy of Almost TGCF on my shop if you live in the EU or the UK, international shipping will be made available in early December)
