Write On Me || Cam and Liam
Cam grinned and chuckled. “Thank you, was that so hard?” She asked, reaching over to take a small sip of her juice. “You know what’s weird? Adriana said that the other day. Not so much dinner, but some kind of meal once a week.”
“Extremely” he replied, tugging on a strand of her hair. “See, I knew I liked her more” Liam teased, turning his attention to his child. “Dont we Em?” He joked, raising his eyebrows at the girl.

“I knew there was a reason.” Cam mused happily as she set Emi down on a chair. “There you go munchkin.” she said, before taking the seat next to her. “Y’know please is a nice word to use.” she teased, though she was already on it anyway. “Okay give her like five minutes. Apparently she was already on her way.”
Liam grabbed a couple glasses, setting them down in front of the girls pouring juice in each cup. “Please, Cam you amazing woman, you” he pleaded, a small laugh escaping his lips. “We should set up a dinner every Friday with all of us” He suggested, taking a bite of his lo mein.

“It’s a fair compromise, but hey, I told you I didn’t care what you need, you just say the word and whatever it is I’m there.” she reminded him. “I see I’m going to have to keep reminding you of that until the end of time.” she joked, before turning her full attention to the child in her arms. “You did? Well that sounds like a day that was a lot more fun than mine.” she said. She raised an eyebrow at Liam. “Oh, you do love me.” she grinned. “Eh…running? Watching TV? I don’t know. I lost track of her.”
“This is why we love you, right Em?” Liam added, a grin on his lips as he looked over at his eagerly nodding child. “Sit down and eat baby” The man asked the child as he placed the plate in front of her chair. “well text her, because I got her favorite too” Liam liked the small family Em and him had made since living here and having them in the same complex made it even easier.

“Now this is a compromise I can live with.” Cam grinned. The move from Illinois to California had been relatvely simple for her, but it was a different story for him and she knew it. Hearing the squeal of the small child, Cam grinned even larger. “Hey, there’s my girl!” she said happily, bending down to hug her back before scooping her up into her arms. “Yeah sure, we’ll go with you made it.” she joked back. “Did you fold the boxes too?”
“”After everything you’ve done for me, I think I owe you that much” the young father joked, setting the table. “Daddy took me swimming today and we saw the seals” The small girl rambled on about their adventure, her legs swinging on either side of the blonde’s hip. “Yeah, I knew you would surprise visit us so I even made the boxes and made your favorite. Where’s Adriana?” He questioned, opening the cartons of food as he began serving his daughter’s plate.

Cam shot him a playful glare, shaking her head at his comment about her key. “I forgot to grab it, sue me.” she said with a grin, before pulling him into a hug. “Plus key ruins my surprise visit. And the opportunity to call you a loser.” She stuck her tongue out at him.
“I promise to let you call me loser at least once a day, happy?” he replied, hugging her back tightly in his arms. The move to La Jolla was tough but it had brought the two much closer and he was grateful for everything she had done for him and Em. “CAMY” Emmaline squealed, her small feet dashing across the wooden floors as she wrapped her arms around the girl’s waist. “You’re just in time for dinner, I made Chinese food” he joked, grabbing the plates from the cupboards.

There was a perk to sharing a cafe job with Liam; Cam always knew his schedule. It made moments like this, when she wanted to be sneaky and drop by unannounced just because she could and she oddly missed him, easier. Weight shifting from foot to foot, Cam’s knuckles rapped against the door lightly as she pulled her phone from her pocket with the other hand.
Opening her messages, she grabbed her thread with him, typing out a quick “Open up loser, it’s me.”
Feeling his pocket vibrate, Liam quickly grabbed for his phone with one hand as he began to untie the plastic bag on the counter with the other. A smile grew on his face seeing the text clearly on his lock screen. “Em, Cam’s here!” Liam called out to his child, grabbing the various take out boxes from the bag before walking over to the door - opening it. “What, lost your key?” he grinned, wiggling his eyebrows playfully at the brunette.

Amelia pushed a strand of hair back as her leg bounce nervously underneath the table. “And she didn’t tell you I moved in with them?” A small little chuckle from her lips keeping her eyes directly linked with his didn’t matter how much time had passed, he still had a hold on her heart. She hadn’t found that since he had walked into her life. “Thank you. I appreciate that" She didn’t know whether or not it was time for her to leave, her coffee was gone and his line was getting busy “I missed you” She whispered out before getting up.
Looking down at her empty cup, Liam pushed his chair back stretching his arms over his head. “Well I’m not surprised, I’m sure she got a kick out of the surprise” he chuckled, getting up from the small table. Liam’s chest tightened at her words, taking a second to process her words. The sound of her voice was something he had almost forgotten and he really hadn’t realized how much he loved it. “It’s no problem. So I guess I’ll see you around Amelia” he smiled, taking her cup as he turned away from the blonde.

Amelia: I'm invited too right?
Liam: I figured the smell of my cooking would bring you in regardless.
Liam: but of course Mila, Em wouldn't have it any other way.

Cam: Yeah...like I keep telling you; I'll take a bullet for that kid if I had to. And I'd do it all over again.
Cam: Free food? Of course I'm down.
Liam: I'm glad Em has you and Adriana in her life, honestly.
Liam: Cool, come by around 8?

“It’s easier to adjust at such a young age.” She eyes looked away for a second remembering al the times she had to move growing up. “The napkins are fine, Liam” She told him a very soft voice, her heartrate climbed a bit at the sight of his smirk, it was the same one she had fallen for. “I’m glad Cam is here for you through this, god knows she needed a change of scenery” She paused slightly. “We all did, actually.” Her shoulder rose and fell quickly, thinking about it. “Yeah, it was tough, but please don’t apologize. It took a good bit for me to speak to them again, but we do weekly phone calls. They are happy that I’m closer to home now.” She bit down on her lower lip, finally being able to talk about it without getting mad.
Liam nodded his head in agreement, his hands stopping his actions at the sound of her voice. Even though it had been a year since he had seen her, she still managed to calm him in a way that made no sense to him, but there he was taking a deep breath. “Yeah, Cam and Adriana have been lifesavers being out here” He replied, running his hand across the edge of the table as his eyes connected to hers. “I know how much family means to you, if you ever need anything you now know where to find me”

Amelia nodded at him listening to his words carefully. “The west coast looks good on you. I’m sure the little babe is loving being near the ocean so much.” Her eyes glanced down at his action, stopping herself from grabbing his hand to calm him down. “It was a mixture of a lot of little things. My parents got divorced and it got ugly really quickly. Job opportunity and there wasn’t anything holding me down in Illinois anymore. It was the next logical step.”
Liam cracked a half smile at her words, his eyes still focused on the napkins in front of him though. “She misses her grandparents a lot, it was a huge transition... one I wish we didn’t have to make but she’s happy. She spends a lot of time with Cam’s sister and Grace so it’s helping” Liam replied, his eyes darting up at her when she mentioned her parents divorced. He had only the pleasure of meeting them once but he was definitley surprised with her news. “I’m really sorry Amelia, that’s a tough fucking break....”

Cam: This is why I kept the rest of the bouquet and only let her have one.
Cam: Yeah....about that....
Cam: She kinda sorta figured it out.
Liam: No I know it was tough to Cam, Amelia is your friend too. So I'm genuinely saying thank you.
Liam: Also I'm making lasagna for dinner tomorrow? Are you guys down to come over?
texts || Liam
Cam: Yeah that didn't cross my mind until after I left it there and remembered her making all those noises the other day, but that's okay I have the rest of the bouquet sitting in my car just in case.
Cam: Oh I will.
Liam: She says she very sorry..... more like RAWR but you get it.
Liam: Also, did I mention you keeping this huge secret means to me? I saw Amelia the other day.
texts || Liam
Cam: Well I did leave a flower by your door for Emi to give to you.
Liam: You do recall EMi being in a very dinosaur phase right now right? She trampled it. Sorry to say it did not stand a chance.
Liam: But you my friend are the best. Remind me of that when I need you to come in unexpectedly.
