MARKETING COORDINATOR I saw the part of you / That only when you're older you will see too / You will see too / I held the better cards / But every stroke of luck has got a bleed through / It's got a bleed through / You held the balance of the time / That only blindly I could read you / But I could read you / It's like you told me / Go forward slowly / It's not a race to the end Well you look like yourself But you're somebody else Only it ain't on the surface Well you talk like yourself No, I hear someone else though Now you're making me nervous
“Ah, gotcha. I take it you like it here then?” Norah asks curiously, giving Liam a smile.
“I do, i always wanted to move to a small and quiet town, get a job around here and just build a life. I really like it here. I’m sure you will too.” Liam said.
“I think we both know I would win that argument. I mean, my family kind of has a private jet,so.” Derek points out, laughing quietly. “Let’s suggest it then. I’d like that.” He says with a nod, giving Liam a small smile. “Sure, I could go for some ice cream.”
“Would you really? Don’t you know by now how stubborn the Harwell’s are?” Liam spoke, a laugh escaping his lips as he nudged his boyfriend playfully. “Ice cream it is, come on, time to cheer ourselves up.” he said as he reached for his wallet and keys.
Brown hues were glued on the bright screen of her iphone, waiting on a notification; a message from the vet clinic that her next appointment had arrived. She quickly looked up, making sure she won’t run into anyone at Cuppa Joe’s, only when it was just a little too late & she had already slightly bumped into the person who has in front of her in line. “ Oh, so sorry! “ Νimble fingers locked her phone as she slid the precious artifact into the back pocket of her turquoise scrubs. “ Is this place packed because the coffee is so good in here, or everyone is just looking for an excuse to take advantage of the air-conditioning? Or maybe both? “
Looking behind him, Liam gave the woman a smile before letting out a chuckle “I’d say both? The coffee is pretty good, yes, and it’s a good place to escape the sun that’s out there trying to burn us alive.”
“I know.” Derek easn’t trying to be a downer though, looking back at Liam with a small smile. “Well maybe we can take another trip to visit soon. Or we could fly them out here.”
Liam rubbed Derek’s arms softly, giving him a nod “That could be nice. Either one, though i’m sure my mom would fight both of us if we even tried to paid for tickets.” he chuckled, “But i’m sure they wouldn’t be opposed to seeing us more - either way.” he pecked his boyfriend’s lips “What do we say we go get ourselves some ice cream, huh?”
“I know, but…I dunno. I wish they would accept us.” Derek sighs, shaking his head. It was hard that his family didn’t. They didn’t understand. “Of course it does, I want your family to like me.”
“I know, babe, i know. But sometimes... Things don’t go as we wish them to go.” Liam said, squeezing his boyfriend’s hand. “My family doesn’t like you. They love you. They’re always asking me about you and when we’re coming to visit. They’re all over the moon.”
“I’m new to town. Figured it would be an easy way to meet people.” Norah replies, shrugging her shoulders. The compliment was sweet though, giving the man a smile. “I’ll even throw in a fancy pastry if you want.”
“I guess that’s a way to put it.” Liam said, giving her a smile followed by a nod “Fancy pastry huh? I’m in. So what brings you to town?”
Holding Liam close, Derek sighs, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “I’m sorry my family is the way that they are. I’m really glad yours loves and accepts us. It means a lot to me.”
Liam nodded, kissing his cheek, “Hey now. You don’t have to apologize. Things happen for a reason. Good and bad. I’m glad it means a lot to you, they truly love you.”
Setting her phone face down on the table, Norah sighs, shaking her head at herself. “I don’t know why I bother with Tinder, I’m pretty sure my date ditched me. Wanna join me for coffee? Your drink’s on me.”
“I don’t even know why you feel the need to go to Tinder, i mean you’re a pretty girl. I’m sure there are lots of guys out there just waiting for an opportunity to ask you out.” Liam pointed out, before nodding, “Free coffee? Oh, you’re on.”
Liam gave his boyfriend a smile, kissing his cheek softly. “I still remember the first time i saw you and thought, oh hell another attractive straight dude.” he laughed, shaking his head at how he hadn’t really realized Derek’s sexuality until a lot later on. “I’m here for you. Anything you wanna do, i’ll support you.”
“Aw, that’s what you thought? I mean, to be fair…I’m pretty sure I was still pretty in denial then.” Derek points out, shrugging his shoulders. “I know baby, I know. You’ve always been in my corner, no matter what. And I’m always in yours.”
"Yeah, the thought did cross my mind." He chuckled and smiled at his boyfriends words. "We're a team." He pressed his lips against his, kissing him softly.
it had been a long day and ella wasn’t expecting it to slow down any time soon. she should have went with the large coffee this morning. the girl grabbed the clipboard off the desk and made her way to the next patient. she slid the curtain opened and chuckled softly. “oof, i’m gonna have to wrap you in bubble wrap, aren’t i? wanna tell me what happened?”
liam found himself at the hospital again, this time having tripped while running some errands. at this point he was considering just wrapping some bubble wrap around himself whenever he had to leave the house on his own. a walking disaster, is what he could be at times. “sounds about it, if you ask me. thing you can get me a roll to take home with me?” he chuckled “well you see, i fell. tripped over my own feet, my ankle started to hurt like a bitch. got me thinking i might have sprained it.”
Sighing, Derek shrugs, not really wanting to talk more about his dad. Their relationship had never been the best, yet he always seemed to be seeking out his approval. Maybe it was time that he stopped. “I know, babe. And there’s nobody else I want to be with either. I want you and only you.”
