Markos wasn’t frightened of the pantherman. He had seen scarier, more twisted, and ghoulish beasts in the realm of Hades. Quite frankly, a panther was probably one of the least-scary adversaries he had ever faced, and if this was Dae-Ho’s power, all that talk about throwing Markos back into Hell was for naught. He was just about to tap into his own powers when he felt a boy’s hand press into his chest, and watched as the other hand stopped Dae’s advancement. Liam thought that he could prevent some hallway brawl, but, like Dae, Liam had no clue who Markos was, and that his temperament and aggression would not be put out so easily. If anything, being stopped from fighting had caused the boy’s temper to skyrocket. Markos grabbed onto the arm which was held in front of him, and, with a iron grasp, swung Liam with a large force to hopefully throw the boy out of the middle of the two.

“D-don’t interfere! Let me tear him to shreds!” He protested as he tried to prevent his anger to lash out against the kid that dared to stop them. He was calming down, slowly. He wouldn’t have to shift completely. That was until the male threw the helpless boy out of the line between them. “Don’t you hurt him!” His voice echoed through the hall with a trembling growl.

He crouched down, eyes fierce and examining him. That was until he pounced onto him, legs straddling hips while claws dug into skin and tried to tear up his chest.

Liam hit the lockers with a thud, and the ache filled his entire body. He could see now, it was a bad idea to get in the non-panther’s face, whoever he was, but he refused to stand by and watch them tear each other to shreds - literally. With a groan, he pushed off from the lockers and made his way back into the middle, this time deciding to try a different method. He had no doubt that his efforts to move the panther-boy would be futile, but it was worth a try, so he mustered up all the strength he had and put that strength into moving the panther. “Stop.” He grunted, shoving the panther just enough that he was no longer on top of the boy, and sat down atop the panther’s back to stop him from getting up.

he’s a liar. he was a dick to her during her anxiety attack, although it was not played out on the dash.

“Hey man,” Jack whispered, keeping his library voice low, but in loud enough a tone that the other could hear him from a few feet away. “Can you give me some help?” He put his broken hand on the stack of books which sat on the table, showing his cast. “I can’t carry all these at once, and I need to re-shelve some that I’m not going to checkout.”

Liam looked up from his page and slipped the bookmark the check-out receipt between the pages as a makeshift bookmark. “Uh, yeah, sure. Let me just put this away?” Without waiting for an answer, Liam tucked the book into his messenger bag and slid it onto his shoulder. “Alright, let’s get started. What do you need me to carry- I mean, how many?”

Yes! He got a punch in! Take that Mr. Tall, Handsome, and complete douche! He smirked, a cocky smirk as he watched him. That is until some names were thrown out and a leg came and kicked him backwards.

He felt the pain strike in his gut, a familiar moan-groan coming from him. Why do people always go for the guy? He scrambled to get up, staying on all fours for a moment. Cracking of bones could be heard before flesh from hands tore apart as what seemed like large cat paws formed. Panther paws. “Y-you are gonna pay for that….” he trembled before standing up, only to pounce towards him, claws ready to tear him apart.

Liam was always off in his own world, so it was no surprise that he didn't notice the fight until it escalated. How he'd remained oblivious while standing only feet away was uncertain, but as soon as he heard bones cracking, he was pulled out from his trance. Holy shit. This, this panther was about to fucking kill someone. Surely both parties had done something wrong to trigger the fight in the first place, but only one was in real danger at this moment. With all the recent deaths from the earthquake, Liam was willing to bet the university didn't want to add another name to that list, so this had to stop. Looking around, it didn't seem like there was anyone else nearby, so it was up to him to get in between these two. Fuck me, Liam thought. He dropped his backpack onto the floor and moved into the middle of the hallway, cautiously putting a hand out towards each boy's chest, although it seemed a little silly given the status of the panther-boy. What good was he when this kid had c l a w s? Still, someone had to stop them. "Both of you. Two steps back. What the fuck is going on?"

“i was making a joke, silly,” hermes says with a small laugh, she’s not sure if he understood so she figures it’s better to point it out. “asimov?” she repeats, her eyes narrowing as she attempts to figure out if she knows what he’s talking about. “now i’ve heard of fahrenheit 451!” she says with a small smile, it’s probably bad that she hasn’t heard of a lot of the books but in her defense she doesn’t have much time to read. and when she does get the chance she’d much rather read a nice mystery.

liam nodded. he knew it was a joke, he got it. just so hermes could be sure, he offered up a small smile. as she continued speaking, it was clear to liam that hermes didn’t share his affinity for science fiction, but he wasn’t going to judge her for not knowing things that were out of her realm of interest. however, he’s certain she’s heard of at least one of asimov’s stories, even if she hasn’t recognized the name quite yet. “yes, asimov. he wrote ‘the last question’? about the decreasing entropy of the universe being asked to a computer, and the computer only gets it when the universe has died?” he’d phrased his statement moreso like a question, just to see if it rang any bells. “i’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard of it! i think it was required reading once in schools here, though i am not sure. what do you like to read?”

liam couldn’t help but overhear the older boy’s mumblings as he perused the shelves of the bookstore for the third time that week. he didn’t mean to listen, but with the boy’s volume, it was hard not to. “i heard absolutely nothing. but, uh, i kind of need the book behind your head, man, so, if you could just...” liam trailed off, shuffling in place as he waited.
