“ getting drunk and flirting - what i do best. ”

“Not just that- you guys seem to give Marcel a major headache. He once said something about witches who don’t follow the rules to be a pain in the ass.” She said in a sing-song tone, grabbing herself another drink from over the bar. When the bartender was about to object, she gave a hard look which made him walk away no questions asked. “So, Liam… what’s your story?”
“Yes I’ve heard that Marcel hasn’t taking the best of a liking to us,” he admitted. “As long as we stay under the radar, really, Marcel can’t really complain all that much,” he said. “My story? Family magic, family money, what else do you want to know?”

Following his lead, her brows rose in surprise as the stretch limo pulled up from just around the corner. It took a few seconds for her to wrap her head around the thought, but as she tore her gaze away from the vehicle and towards Liam’s direction, the corners of her lips tugged into a sheepish smile as she answered with a headnod, climbing through the vehicle as she slid herself down towards the far end.
Liam smiled as he climbed in the limo after her. “A little surprised?” he asked, giving her a gentle smile. “I’ve found it’s easier to take this thing around town, less concern about parking, usually, my valet just drives around until I’m ready to be picked up, which is nice, but sometimes I like to drive by myself. Today wasn’t one of those days.”

Her eyes danced to the magic emitting from his fingertips then back to him. “Oh… one of those.” She said with a smirk. “You know… as a kid- I always loved fairy tales and anything magical. Witches never scared me- while most little girls dressed up as princesses, I dressed up as a witch. Loved them. Now? Not so much.” She admitted. “Don’t get me wrong- I don’t hate you all like most vampires do but you have to admit… you guys do cause a lot of trouble.” She said with a soft chuckle as she took his hand. “Nice to meet you, Liam.”
“One of those?” he chuckled. “Yes.” He followed her words carefully. "I only use magic for self defense - and of course as a great party trick,” he winked, smiling. “But I can definitely see why you might think we cause a lot of trouble. With this kind of power, it’s easy for people to use it to get what they want.”

Rolling her eyes, she didn’t bother arguing with the male. He was right after all. Looking towards the direction that he was gesturing towards, she reverted her gaze back to him. She knows better than to accept a ride from a stranger. But, did she really? “Okay then,” she agreed with a head nod. Evidently not. “Lead the way.”
“Perfect,” he said, leading her towards his limousine. It seemed nowadays it was the only car he cared to take around town. Cautiously, he opened the door of the jet black vehicle and waited for her to slide in. “After you,”
lilahbirdy:
{Flash forward} After finding the painting and the note to go along with it Lilah had been incredibly happy with the gesture. The first thing she did was try to find the male which didn’t prove to be too difficult of a task and before she knew it she was on his doorstep ringing the bell. The second the door opened and her eyes landed on him she smiled brightly. “Hi..I wanted to thank you for the picture–” Holding up a bottle of wine her happy expression turned a little more shy. “I’m not much of a wine person or..alcohol person in general so I have no idea if this is actually any good but the guy said it was so I went with it.”
Liam walked up to the door after hearing the grand doorbell ring, and when he opened the door, he was pleasantly surprised. “Lilah,” he smiled, noting the wine in her hands. “You really didn’t have to... It was just an early housewarming gift, truly,” he said sincerely “The man at the store definitely didn’t sell you a bad bottle,” Liam smiled. “Care to come in and share a glass?”

“I haven’t seen you in quite a while, Miss Mikaelson,” he said as he gingerly took a sip of his scotch. “How have you been lately? Getting into any mischief?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at Hope, who was sitting down at the table.

Leaving the vampire features intact she leaned in a little closer to him. “You’re not afraid?” She asked, slowly letting her face to return to normal. “"That’s cool… Most people would either run for heir lives, beg me to bite them, or start shouting bible verses. I’ve seen it all although I don’t do that often. The only time people see that is if I’m in some form of battle and by then they’re either expecting it or have the same look.” She shrugged, taking another sip. “"So, strange dude… What’s your name?”
Liam scoffed at the suggestion that he would be scared of her. “On the contrary, not at all,” he said, letting his finger run around the rim of his drink and letting it light on fire for a moment before extinguishing it with his mind. “Liam Rothenburg,” he said, extending his hand.
lilahbirdy:
“But that’s not fair.” She promptly said shaking her head. “Not unless he treats you like any other employee? I mean it’s nice, to have that sort of sure thing there. I remember my first job was at a small little diner and it was terrible.” She laughed. “The manager hated me for no reason and I cleaned the toilets way more than I probably should have to.”
“It’s been a family business for years. My grandfather taught my dad how to do it before he took over, and now he’s teaching me. I’m learning all the ropes of this place just like any newby, but I guess I do have a small step up,” he shrugged. “That definitely doesn’t sound pleasing.”

Wrinkling her nose at his comment, “Kid?” she repeated, not bothering to suppress the amount of disgust from her voice. Despite the accuracy behind his presumption, she hated being considered a child. “Well, the sooner the better…” As a thoughtful expression crossed her face, her eyes darted towards the door of the shop as she began silently contemplating her response. She knew better than to continuously set herself up for danger when it came to strangers, but she couldn’t help taking risks. It was part of her nature. “How far do you live away from here?” she questioned.
“Well, you’re definitely quite a bit younger than me, so yeah, kid,” he said, shrugging. He noted their location. “My car is around the corner in the parking lot and I’m about a 5 minute drive, not even, from here. You’ll have your book in no time.”

I knew it. She thought to herself. He thinks i’m a human. How cute. She turned her head away from him, shutting her eyes for a second only to open them a second later. Now revealing her vampire features. Something she’d never otherwise do unless the situation called for it. “This careful enough?”
Liam was thoroughly taken aback when she revealed her vampire features. “Yep, that’s definitely careful enough,” he said, looking away from her and straight into his drink, embarrassed that he had thought her out to be a human for so long.

Kenna arched a brow, shaking her head once. “I’m sure there are people that will try but, them succeeding is the question. I can almost guarantee it wont work in their favor. I’m a loooooooot stronger than I look.” She told him, her eyes shifting off of his to look at the bottle. “You would think that, right? But I have a lot on my mind. Too much in fact. I’d like to.. ease up.”
“Well it’s good to hear that you’re a strong willed girl who doesn’t need any protecting - the only question is are you prepared to fend off the advances of the people who are more powerful than the average human?” he asked. “Just be careful is all I’m saying.”
lilahbirdy:
“Well I know where you can start.” Lilah didn’t hesitate with her response. A grin appearing on her face. “That’s if you don’t already have one, a job is always a good way to work hard and knowing you’re earning what you get. I’m not telling you that’s what you need to do though, just always a good place to start. Some advice from me to you since you were telling me how to carry myself to earn some respect in these parts.”
“I work part time right now at my dad’s brewery. He’s trying to show me the ropes there so when he retires I can take up residence there. He wants to keep the business in the family,” he told her. “It’s how I make a fair share of my money. I appreciate it, truly,” he smiled.

kenna-haas:
“Oh puh- leeze.” She dragged the word on. “I may loooooook like a helpless little girl but I am not. I am rather strong. I’ve learned self defense and more at a veeeeeery young age…and-” She was about to somehow make a vampire reference but knew better then to let the alcohol control that aspect. “and I still am aware of my surroundings…. which.” She huffed. “I need the bottle. The whole bottle. Just gimme the bottle, will ya?” She asked the bartender. “I don’t know about you, dude…but i’m here to not care about anything.”
“There are people in this town who will try to take advantage of girls like you,” he said, “And sometimes they’re stronger than you,” Liam said as he intercepted the bottle coming form the bartender and poured himself a glass. “I think you’re already not caring about a whole lot,” he said.
lilahbirdy:
“Well, I don’t know if I would go as far as saying it was hard earned, it’s more likely that it was handed down.” Lilah said lacking any judgement over the fact in her tone of voice. She couldn’t judge the lifestyle just because it seemed so much easier to live with little effort. “I guess you’re right, I’ll work on it.” Her eyes popped down to the price tag even though she had caught what the lady said. “Fifty dollars, no matter how nice it is, I probably shouldn’t spend it on something that won’t be essential.” Lilah muttered putting it down. “Maybe another time. Thank you though for troubling yourself with that.”
Liam noted the fact that the girl wasn’t going to buy it, remembered what the piece looked like, reminding himself to come back for it and deliver it to her doorstep anonymously. “What a shame,” he said, sighing, “but you seem to have a good sense of perspective. I wished I had that kind of perspective on what’s important. My dad worked hard, but I always got everything as a kid, I’m still trying to learn what it’s like to work hard to get what I want.”

roxy-salvatore:
Raising her brows in surprise, she closed her eyes momentarily as she thanked him aloud through one breath. “Thank you! God, that would be great. I really shouldn’t have waited until such last minute but…” Waving her hand in a shooing gesture, she shook her head before fluttering her eyes back open. Tugging her lips into a wide smile, “The notes make it even better. When can I pick it up?”
“Kids procrastinate all the time. If my mom wasn’t such a hard ass about my marks in my first little while of high school, I would have, too,” he sighed. “If you can read them, sometimes they’re quite messy,” he chuckled. “Whenever you want.”
lilahbirdy:
“I’ve never thought about it too much, no one I knew really had more money than they knew what to do with. Well, maybe one person but it was his family that enjoyed rolling in their money.” She babbled, following behind him over to the counter. Lilah was the complete opposite of how he carried himself, always hesitant and obvious about it. She watched in amazement in the attitude the woman took the request from him, sighing once she went on the hunt for the price. “That is exactly what I am not. Me trying to take authority is like a puppy wresting for dominance with a great dane. Just looks funny.”
“People do tend to enjoy celebrating their hard earned cash,” Liam smiled, “Your family name or your name don’t mean anything if you can’t command your own respect, and if you think you look funny doing it, you’ve just got to figure out how to do it without judging yourself,” Liam said before the lady returned with the price.
“It’s $xx Mr. Rothenburg,” she said, handing him the tag of the object, one she had taken off another unopened box he was sure.
“There you go,” he said, handing Lilah the tag so she could look at it.
