Happy Rare Disease Day, on the Rarest day of the year!

Since I was born, I have had Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI), a condition which was 1 in 50,000 at the time of my Diagnosis in January 2005, Now the chances of having CHI is 1 in 28,389!

Congenital Hyperinsulinism causes the pancreas to produce too much insulin, which results in low blood glucose levels. Early diagnosis of Congenital Hyperinsulinism is vital and can potentially prevent brain damage and possibly death!

Today is February 1st. One year ago today my Grandad passed away.

It’s been an entire year since one of the most shocking nights of my life.

I still cannot believe my grandad is not here today, I miss him so much and I wish I wasn’t posting this… I hope he is resting peacefully ❤️
