Week 351: Sunday, June 7th, our first time at the Nativity Carnival, 1250 Laurel St, Menlo Park. We had fun riding the ferris wheel (we could see our tree from the top!) and bumper cars, eating deep fried pickles, and listening to the band The Soul Practitioners. 🎡 Then we watched the Tonys!
Week 350: Sunday, May 31st, we celebrated Maxim's Bayshore Elite Team Awards Night on the Blue Moon at the Sandpiper Community Center, 797 Redwood Shores Pkwy, Redwood City. That morning Terran went to Calliope's birthday at Laurel Street Arts, 733 Laurel St, San Carlos, where he made an owl mug! 🦉
Week 349: Monday, May 25th, Happy Memorial Day! It was a lovely day for our first time at the Pulgas Water Temple, 56 Cañada Rd, Redwood City. 💦 That evening we had a cookout and then watched Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. ⚡️
Week 348: Sunday, May 17th, we met up with some of Lianna's colleagues for our first time at the Mountain View Farmers' Market, 600 W Evelyn Ave, Mountain View. We got yummy pastries from Adorable French Bakery, delicious hot chocolate from Bisou Chocolate, beautiful strawberries 🍓, and Foustman's salami. Afterwards we went to Encinal where Terran road a bike with pedals for the first time!!! Then he went to a play date at Heath's house. That evening we watched BTS: The Comeback Live - Arirang in preparation for Lianna to see their concert at Stanford on Tuesday.
Week 347: Sunday, May 10th, Happy Mother's Day! 💐 We celebrated with our first time at Deer Hollow Farm, 22500 Cristo Rey Dr, Cupertino, in the Rancho San Antonio County Park & Open Space Preserve. We got to see a baby goat, sheep, cows, chickens, pigs, and deer (wandering outside the farm), and play in a creek! Beforehand we got breakfast at Hobee's, 4224 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. That evening we watched the musical "Suffs" on PBS Great Performances.
Week 346: Saturday, May 9th, we went to Kellan's birthday at the Marine Science Institute, 500 Discovery Pkwy, Redwood City. It was Terran's first time there (though he is going with his class in a few weeks)! They had fun petting a starry flounder, holding a crab, seeing a leopard shark, and trawling for fish! That evening we watched "My Octopus Teacher". 🐙
Week 345: Sunday, April 26th, our first time at Helicopter Adventures at Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Rd, San Carlos. The boys got to sit in a Bell 47 helicopter and go in the Hurricane Simulator! 🚁 That afternoon Terran went to Ryan's birthday at SportsHouse, 3151 Edison Way, Redwood City. That evening we watched Wicked: For Good.
Week 344: Sunday, April 19th, our first time at Beresford Park & Recreation Center Children's Playground, 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, with breakfast from KAIZEN & COFFEE, 2337 S El Camino Real. Afterwards, Maxim stayed at the park for Arthur's birthday party while Terran went to Heath's birthday party with a magician at his house. 🎈
Week 343: Saturday, April 18th, Terran's first Tae Kwon Do competition at the UMKS 2026 Regional Martial Arts Invitational hosted by United Mirae Kuk Sool at Woodside High School, 199 Churchill Ave, Woodside. Terran competed in forms and techniques for White Belts! That evening we watched The LEGO Ninjago Movie!
Week 342: Welcome to New York! Monday, April 6th, we checked into the Empire Hotel, 44 W 63rd St, New York, then met up with Holly, Harry and Leo at the Heckscher Playground in Central Park followed by dinner at La Bonne Soupe, 48 W 55th St (where Holly and Leo had their first date!). On Tuesday, April 7th, we went to the American Museum of Natural History, 200 Central Prk W, and saw amazing dinosaurs, giant blue whales, an Invisible Worlds exhibit, and asteroids (we had watched "Night at the Museum" in preparation). Afterwards we got lunch from a food cart and walked through Central Park to see the Belvedere Castle, Shakespeare Garden, Bethesda Fountain, and ended up at the Adventure Playground. That evening Lianna got drinks with Holly at Sea Witch, 703 5th Ave, Brooklyn, while Andrei and the boys got Japanese food and gelato. Then on Wednesday, April 8th, we got breakfast at Breads Bakery, 1890 Broadway, and Lianna went to The Frick Collection, 1 E 70th St, and saw the Gainsborough: The Fashion of Portraiture exhibit, then met up with the boys in Central Park and took the Subway to Prospect Park to meet up with Holly, Harry, and Tasha at the Harmony Playground. Then we came back to the city and had dinner at the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, Chalong Southern Thai, 749 9th Ave, followed by gelato with Alex at Gelatoville Gelateria Coffee & Bakery, 692 9th Ave, before walking through Times Square to see Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre, 214 W 42nd St. On Thursday, April 9th, we took the subway to Battery Park at got breakfast at Liberty Bagels Wall Street, 32 Broadway, and coffee at Cafe Grumpy - Financial District, 20 Stone St. Then we got on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and climbed up to the top of the pedestal for great views! Afterwards we briefly stopped at Ellis Island and Castle Clinton before coming back to Central Park for more playground time and dinner at Le Pan Quotidien, 60 W 65th St. That evening Lianna went to see Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) at the Longacre Theatre, 220 W 48th St. For our last morning in NYC, we met up with Katie, Emilia, Musetta, Laith and Idris at Lincoln Center Plaza, then went back to Heckscher Playground. For lunch we went to The Independent Cafe, David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, 61 W 62nd St, then back to Central Park for more playtime and a ride on the Central Park Carousel, 1802 E 65th St, before saying goodbye!
Week 341: Sunday, March 29th we went to the Hop Into Spring event at Springline, 550 Oak Grove Ave, were the kids got to pet bunnies and piglets, play games, and eat ice cream. Then on Tuesday, March 31st, we celebrated Lala's life with a memorial service at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ, followed by dinner at the Northvale Classic Diner, 247 Livingston St. Then on Wednesday, April 1st we had Lala's funeral at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 523 Western Hwy S, Blauvelt, NY, followed by the burial in Rockland Cemetery. Afterwards we had a gathering at The Old '76 House, 110 Main St, Tappan. We also watched the Artemis II rocket launch around the moon! On Thursday, April 2nd, we went to see The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at AMC Palisades 21, 4403 Palisades Center Dr, West Nyack. Then on Saturday, April 4th we went into the city to go to the new National Museum of Mathematics, 635 6th Ave, New York, with Tita Tasha and Alex. Afterwards we got lunch at Kogane Ramen, 337 W 14th St, the explored Little Island at Little Island, Pier 55 at Hudson River Park. Afterwards we got gelato from L'Arte del Gelato, Chelsea Market, 75 9th Ave, and walked along the High Line! Then on Sunday, April 5th we celebrated Easter with LoloBob and the whole family! 💐
Week 340: Saturday, March 28th, our first time at a No Kings Protest in Menlo Park, 1010 El Camino Real. NO THRONES, NO CROWNS, NO KINGS! Grandma Jean joined too from across the country in Naples! 🇺🇸 For dinner we went to Happy Lamb Hot Pot, 102 Castro St, Mountain View, and got rolled ice cream from Kween's, 292 Castro St. Yum!
Week 339: Happy Birthday Maxim, take 2! Sunday, March 15th Maxim had his 9th birthday party at Bayshore Elite Gymnastics, 2694 Middlefield Rd suite A, Redwood City, with Coach Lucas and lots of friends from school and his gymnastics team. 🎉
Week 338: Sunday, March 8th, Maxim's first time at the Men's NorCal Gymnastics State Championships where he medalled in vault and high bar and placed 11th in the All Around for his age and level. Then on Saturday, March 14th we all went to see Blake as Patsy in "Monty Python's Spamalot" at the Golden Gate Theatre, 1 Taylor St, San Francisco. Afterwards we got a cool back stage tour! Then we grabbed burgers at Smish Smash, 945 Market St. On the way to the theatre we also got to see the St. Patrick's Day Parade ☘️ and on the way back to the car we passed the Venus Statue by Lawerence Argent in Piazza Angelo, 33 8th Street.
Week 337: Monday, March 2nd, Happy 9th Birthday Maxim!!! Then on Saturday, March 7th we had a picnic lunch at the newly renovated Flood Park, 215 Bay Road, with LalaJo and food from Delucchi's Market, 3640 Florence St, Redwood City. Afterwards, Lianna got to see Stanford Women's Gymnastics compete against UCLA (Ana Barbosu vs. Jordan Chiles). That evening Lianna and Andrei had a lovely date night at Bevri, 335 University Ave, Palo Alto, with traditional Georgian khachapuri, followed by yummy yaiyaki from Somisomi, 440 University Ave.
Week 336: Sunday, February 22nd, our first time at Linden Park, 224 Linden St, Redwood City. Lots of fun running around on a log labyrinth! It also reminded us of the Painted Lady Butterflies from Tita Jovy that we raised from caterpillars to chrysalises to butterflies and recently set free! 🐛 That evening we had yummy desert from Karin Johnson Specialty Cakes and Pastries at the Menlo Park Farmer's Market.
Week 335: Tuesday, February 17th, our first time in Palm Springs/Palm Desert! We ate dinner at Grill-A-Burger, 73091 Country Club Dr Ste A2, Palm Desert, as seen on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and then spent the night at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, 74-855 Country Club Dr. The next morning we got to hangout with flamingoes, play mini golf, and relax by the pool with lunch from Oasis Bar & Grill. That afternoon we got to ride up the mountain on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, 1 Tramway Rd, Palm Springs, for gorgeous views, dinner at Pines Cafe, and snow! Then on Thursday, February 19th, we explored more of Palm Springs with lunch at Lulu California Bistro, 200 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, then a stroll to the "Forever Marilyn" statue by John Seward Johnson II in Downtown Park. Afterwards we went to the Palm Springs Air Museum, 745 N Gene Autry Trail, where we saw lots of cool and historic airplanes including an X-Wing, a Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar, and the original F-117 Nighthawk stealth plane. Then we headed through the rain and rainbows to our airBnB, Moonbeam Manor, in Landers, where we got to play in a treehouse, make s'mores, and watch Dr. Seuss' The Lorax🌙 . On Friday, February 20th, we woke up to Terran's first lost tooth and then set off for Joshua Tree National Park! We started by getting breakfast and picnic supplies from The Dez, 61705 29 Palms Hwy, Joshua Tree, then stopped at the Joshua Tree Visitors Center, 6554 Park Blvd, to get oriented. Then we headed to the Hidden Valley Trail for some hiking and bouldering, followed by a drive to the Keys View where we could look back to Palm Springs! Afterwards we ate our picnic lunch near Cap Rock then stopped by Skull Rock and hiked Discovery Trail! Afterwards we got pizza for dinner from Giant Rock Meeting Room, 1131 Old Woman Springs Rd, Yucca Valley, then relaxed in the hot tub under the stars!
