"No, most of us do know. So I guess it only makes sense that Eliza would know too… huh. She’s more devious than I thought." Despite the news, the smirk hovering upon her lips could only be described as ‘intrigue’. She’d always been fascinated with interesting gossip, after all. Being more of a people watcher than participating in it herself. There’s another case of near incestuous love nearby going by the name of Victor, but he ended up far too wrapped up in it to really hook her in.

Releasing a quiet chuckle at his sarcasm, her glance over looked near smug and most definitely proud. “Whatever shall you do, indeed. You’d be a straight up mess without me." A comment aimed to tease; though it was hard to tell if she was serious or not. Only humming in acknowledgement to the fact that Eliza, and her brother for that matter, were beings who seemingly always got what they wanted one way or another, she nudged the other and nodded towards the cafe coming up on their right. “C’mon, you’re going to treat me to a drink. It’s the least you can do after this… ‘traumatizing’ coming out of the closet talk." She mused in jest (though only to the second bit) as she entered the cafe.

"I bet you do. She's even more bloody daring than I thought. Makes me wonder where the innocent princess we all knew disappeared to." Elijah felt a slight wave of heat rush to his cheeks, narrowing his eyebrows before smoothing them back out again. The previous day really wasn't spent as productively as he would have liked, though he wasn't quite complaining about how most of their time were taken up by other... Activities. Elijah pursed his lips, noting the rather interested expression Desiree had on her face. Even more blackmail material. Great.

Rolling his eyes fondly at her before raising an eyebrow, the male snorted. True, though; he wouldn't really have been able to do quite a few things without her. "Oh, yes, I accept Desiree Pomeroy as my great lord and saviour. Bless my wicked mortal soul." He responded plainly, though his rigid expression softened a little as he opened the door for her, quickly following through before glancing at the menu. "Be my guest. All expenses paid by yours truly."

Making a face at being smacked, no matter how lightly, she ran thin fingers through her hair before placing the box inside her bag to free up her hands. Then with one thumb hooked under the strap of her bag, she looked forward and listened. Well that is, until his confession in which she halted and stared at him. “No way. You seriously are an ape, you really boned Eliza?" Now Elijah was on the receiving end of Desiree’s perfect ‘are-you-serious’ look. The type of look that’d make anyone feel judged and fidgety with the need to explain. But she knew the two long enough to know this wasn’t some stupid joke.

"It sounds horrible either way, might as well be blunt." Surprise slowly leaked away with an emphasized sigh, hand lifting again to stop her hair from being blown into her face by a passing breeze. “Incest, huh. You two should be glad to have a childhood friend who’s set of morals are stunted at best." She brushed her hair back again. “I guess I’ve seen your love show for too long to be surprised. You didn’t make the first move, did you?" Narrowed eyes shot him a sharp stare. At the very least, she wanted Eliza to be the one to break the barrier between siblings and… well, more than siblings.

"...She wanted me to?" Elijah narrowed his eyebrows with a confused look, shaking his head. "I had no idea she was capable of being as crude as me. I swear to god, I tried to be on my best behaviour around her when she wasn't bloody straddling me." He kept his tone hushed, returning an imitation of the 'fucking-hell-Elijah-Crawley' expression she was sending him. "You girls have no idea about the effect that has on us guys. Or maybe the both of you do, but she was teasing me. Teasing."

The male gritted his teeth, expression remaining impassive as he listened to her lecture on. "Oh, yeah I'm glad. Very glad. Whatever shall I do without the great Desiree?" Elijah mumbled, scratching his chin before averting his gaze. "I did, but I told her it was purely impulsive. Made sure she understood it didn't mean anything else, but she was. I don't know, certain. You've known us long enough to know how she likes. Once she demands something, she gets it one way or another."

Eyes rolled at the blind comment, especially since he knew for a fact that her eyesight hasn’t worsened much despite being a computer buff from a young age. Sure she had glasses, but that was only because she was farsighted at times. Most of the time she didn’t even bother to carry them around with her.

"Glad to know you still have the temper of an ape." She mused in half jest as she systematically unwrapped her gift from his travels. Opening the top of the box within, she peered at the small trinkets from the various countries with a look of interest. Lips pulled into a small smile as she leaned to the side and nudged him in appreciation and thanks. “Sure she’s delicate, but I have faith that your sister complex would have kept her out of trouble." Bundling up the wrapping paper, she tossed it in the nearest trashcan as they exited the building. “When’d you get back?"

"Oi. Apes are attractive, and smart. So show some appreciation for our species before I hurl bananas at you. And you're welcome." Elijah nudged back, smacking her head lightly. "Well, my sister complex wouldn't be enough to keep her from hating her life and questioning her sanity when she's kept under the sun for most of the day with no air-conditioning when I'm travelling with a smelly group of other locals." He let out a rare chuckle, shaking his head. "Last afternoon, actually. I was too busy being lavished special attention by my sister to see you." He responded, taking a quick glance at his watch for the time. "Where do you want to go? I'm basically free the entire day. And. Uh. I'm not quite sure how to break this out to you, but. I figured the faster the better. You see, Eliza and I aren't... really? On platonic terms right now."

Elijah paused, his lips curling into a slight frown. "That sounded horrible. I'm just screwing my sister. Am I mumbling?"

Wrinkling her nose in response to being poked, she leaned her head away. “I can’t be stuck on the computer all the time, can I? Even I have self control. And you’re right. I would have enjoyed seeing you in a panic. Too bad I missed out." She allowed another brief smirk before unfurling her arms again to push him into turning. “Alright, let’s go before the more soulful readers hear your mockery of books and whatnot and decide to mob you." Grabbing her things, she walked with him towards the exit. “So did you take Eliza with you, or was this a solo adventure of yours?"

"Seemed like it. I used to wonder all the time about when you’d be blind." Elijah snorted, turning around obediently to follow her out of the place gratefully. “And right you did. Lucky you, I was about to smash everything I saw into fucking bits and pieces because I’d been so mad." Reaching into the depths of his bag, the male tossed the other a wrapped present before raising a hand to scratch at his hair. “A solo adventure, I suppose. Eliza was too delicate to be dragged around in Mongolia and Africa and Brazil. You know her."

“Subjecting myself to a world of words and creativity is less boring than whatever life has to offer me at this point. And it’s not fair to judge if a person’s changed or not just because you found them in a library.” She countered in mostly halfhearted banter as she lifted a finger and poked the older male in the forehead. “And how about you, mr missing-for-a-year. It doesn’t seem you’ve changed much either.” The arm retracted to join the other in folding across her chest.

"Well, I've no idea. I always thought you'd prefer computers over books, but I'm not certain how sure I am anymore." He responded plainly, calmly raising an eyebrow at Desiree before poking her on the cheek. "Well it was... eventful. Several near death experiences everywhere. You'd have enjoyed seeing me panic after I realize my wallet was missing in Johannesburg."

Attention drawn away from the array of book titles before her, the brunette turned her head to look upon her unexpected guest. Blank faced at first, it took merely a second before lips were shifted into a small, friendly smirk. “Am I so predictable?”

"Probably. Hard to say when I've known you for so long." Elijah leaned back against the bookshelf behind him, raising an eyebrow at his childhood friend before smirking back. "A year, and you still haven't changed much, huh? Reading and all. Don't you ever get bored?"

Slightly taken aback at the rather sudden news, the blonde widened her eyes by a fraction, expression morphing into one of understanding as she moved to face her body towards him. “Hey, it’s fine. Fuck whoever you’d like. I wouldn’t do my brother even though he’s hot, but if being with Eliza make you happy, by all means. I’m sure she’d make you a lot more happier than I did.” She chuckled, shaking her head as she thought back to finding Elijah’s interactions with his sister rather strange, even if she could understand the closeness the both of them shared previously. “You two fit each other. Just don’t do anything stupid and get your ass into trouble, you hear me?”

"...Well, yeah. I'm not that stupid to tell everyone." Elijah rolled his eyes, crossing his legs before he played with the glass in his hands idly. "I'm just... glad you understand, I suppose. Hard to imagine many that would," he confessed, tapping his feet on the ground. "How about you? Have you finally started painting again, or...?"

“One and a half, actually.” Ordering another drink from the bartender herself, Victoria smiled back, red lips stretching to reveal a row of carefully maintained white. “Yeah. Got a promotion, but that’s old news. Still taking care of Victor, as usual. How about you? Girlfriend?”

"One and a half it is, then. You were always better with numbers compared to me. Who knows, maybe my father should make you head of his company instead. Definitely would have more productivity that way." Elijah downed his drink, pausing at the question. Victoria wasn't someone who would judge that easily, being not so different compared to himself, but he knew that she would never view her brother romantically the way he looked at Eliza. Still, he doubted that she would disapprove too badly about this, having been close to him once. "Er. Yeah, you can say that. I'm... in an incestuous relationship. And the likes. You know, screwing your sister." Elijah paused awkwardly, his gaze burning into the bottom of his emptied glass. "It's a... delicate topic."

“Never thought I’d see you again.” The blonde muttered as she took her place beside her ex-boyfriend, eyeing the drink on the table with a raise of her eyebrow. “What’d you do, disappear off the face of the earth?”

"Something like that." Elijah rested his chin on his hand, turning to give a small smile towards the other. "How long has it been, two years? Feels odd to remember you were my girlfriend once." Then again, did it count as a relationship in the first place? It was more 'friends with benefits', really. He knew he was just there for the company, and her? For even less, most probably. "How you've been? Still holding onto the job at the bank?"

The library was a place that Elijah thought he would never had stepped in voluntarily, but he supposed he was proved otherwise, trying to find his childhood friend buried between two shelves somewhere deep inside. I don't even know why people read. He pursed his lips slightly before spotting the familiar mop of brown hair in the fiction section, lips curling up to a smile as he tapped on Desiree's shoulder. "I knew I'd find you here."
