BIG NEWS! I recently opened my own foundry (eeeeek!) and it's called Type Du Nord (www.typedunord.com) and my first font is available for free! It's called Mort and it's a chunky little display font. Look at the full specimen in the attached file. If you want a copy of it, visit www.typedunord.com!
STFW Tip 012: the feasting continues! Just a gentle reminder to finish all the food you have from the thanksgiving festivities. It’s easy to waste a lot during the holidays but remember that the freezer is your friend if you can’t finish it all ❤️
I’m bummed out 99% of the time
Halloween things.

STFW Tip #004: Quit leaving the lights on! I can still hear my dads voice in my head from my youth, “Who left the damn lights on again??” And don’t tell him, but he was totally right. Lights off = saving money and the environment. Most people have switched to fluorescent or LEDs which is great (👏👏👏) but that doesn’t exempt you from wasting energy to light the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen while you’re in the den doing god-knows-what! Be bright and turn off the lights 😉😉😉

STFW Tip #003: Say no to plastic straws! Next time you’re at a restaurant, set the straw in a safe & dry place so that the server can save it for the Wastey McWastersons that come after you. Although they’re small and seem insignificant, every piece of plastic that’s thrown away will live almost forever. We don’t want the aliens that find our decimated planet to know how many sodas we drank! ✌️👽
STFW Tip #002: Stop using plastic bags!! . Plz plz plz for Mother Earth, get some reusable bags and then use them! I once had a cashier TRIPLE bag a gallon of milk. Plastic bags are very unnecessary and take up a lot of space in our landfills. So next time you’re at the store & you buy one thing, let the cashier know that you don’t need a bag. Just carry it! It’s not weird. This also includes people who put a bag around their bananas - it comes with packaging built in! Full disclosure: I’m very bad at this one so I’m mostly yelling at myself. 😉
STFW Tip #001: buy the ugly fruits and veggies! Did you know that half the produce in the US gets thrown away?? Buying the misshapen or slightly bruised food keeps it from being thrown into a landfill! Garbage is a big contributor to climate change due to all the gas it produces! Next time you’re at the grocery store, think about grabbing some mutant carrots instead of the pretty ones 😊

040/100: Nancy Wake
Nancy was a British special operations executive during WWII. She became a leader of the French resistance and was one of the most decorated servicewomen of the war by the allies. By 1943, she was the gestapo's most wanted person. There was a 5 mil franc price on her head. She served until the liberation of France and lived to be a ripe 98 years old.

039/100: Margaret Sanger Meet the feminism OG. Sanger was an activist, writer, nurse and sex educator in the early 1900s. She popularized the term "birth control" in her zine, The Woman Rebel. Anyone want to restart this where she left off?? She also started the American Birth Control League that later became Planned Parenthood. 👏👏 She was an advocate for legal abortions which happened just 4 years after her death.

038/100: Queen Liliuokalani Liliuokalani was the last reigning monarch of Hawaii. She reigned until the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii. She led uprisings to try and prevent Hawaii from being annexed by the US. Eventually US forces overcame them and they became part of the US in 1893. Liliuokalani lived out the rest of her life as a private citizen, an author and a composer. Also, I will be visiting her native island of Oahu again this fall!! So incredibly psyched.

037/100: Khutulun Mongol princess and wrestling extraordinaire. She was the daughter of Kaidu and he preferred her to his sons. It was said that she would only marry a man who could beat her in a wrestling match but if he lost he would give her a horse. Her herd grew to 10,000 strong. She died at 26 because she fought to be her father's successor. 💪

036/100: Joan of Arc Joan of Arc is famous for her victories and campaigns in the French military. She is the youngest known person to lead troops into a battle at 17 yo. Later, at 19 years old, Joan was captured and tried for witchcraft and heresy (successful women = witches 😉). She was burned at stake for her crimes. Many, many years later she was canonized by the Catholic Church for her heroism and piety.
