“Well, that’s…” She pursed her lips, trying to think of an appropriate word. “… Considerate. For them, I mean. Ah, thank you!”

Madotsuki looked at the light blue coloration of the floor beneath the bookshelf, memorizing the fact, before looking back at Valerie. “I’m Madotsuki. Pleasure’s all mine.” she said with a flick of her ears.

"I suppose. I mean, I don't know if you've ever seen a burnt Elsen, since you are not from this universe." He shrugged. "Well then, greetings, dear Madotsuki." He said, a bring spreading across his face, his tail flicking around behind him carelessly.

"Is there any book you are looking for in particular?" He asked, walking over to one of the 'real' shelves.

“I’d like to know where the real books are, if you don’t mind.”

Perhaps she’d sounded rude in saying that, but she’d apologize if she’d offended him. For now, she gave him her most innocent smile.

Really, what she was curious about was him, but she felt a bit too shy to really ask him outright. Small talk seemed like a good thing to start off with, right?

“And, uh, what was your name? Valerie, right?”

"Ah, yes. The real books... I apologize for all of the fake books. The Elsens get frightened by everything, and the fake books are good for them." He smiled. "The real ones on shelves like this." He said, pointing to a shelf with a light blue area underneath it.

"And yes, My name is Valerie! Pleasurre to meet you miss... uhm... what is you name?" He asked, an ear twitching a bit.

While her mentor was lovely company and she liked the feeling of him sitting on her shoulder, occasionally Madotsuki would venture into the library on her own, just to see what was there. Most often, it was fake books and frightened men, and rarely anything interesting. Snippets of conversation were really the only exciting thing. There was very little variation in anything, but the girl kept going time after time, just in case.

Occasionally, she’d catch glimpses of the cat man about, though she never spoke to him. They were only passing glimpses, after all.

Today, however, she decided to change that.

With her cat effect equipped, Madotsuki prowled along the hallways, her ears flicking at every sound. Despite a few odd looks from the scared men, she was rather happy to be using the cat effect again. It had been far too long.

Finally she caught the sight of the cat man. Her tail flicked as she stood and hid behind a shelf. With a long, drawn out meow, however, she stepped away, finding it pointless and impractical to hide.

The cat boy's ears flicked forward, as he heard the girl. He walked over in her direction. He hadn't seen anyone other than Elsens all day long, so seeing a visitor was a pleasant surprise.

"Ah! Hello, there, miss!" He said, his tail flicking around behind him. "What brings you to the library? Looking for anything?" He smiled, bringing a hand up to sweep his hair out of his face. He didn't expect the girl to have ears and a tail. His interest in her grew a bit. He had seen the girl before, but they never spoke. She didn't not have cat-like features the last time he saw her.

“Hmmm…perhaps we should find you a nice lady!” Pablo suggested. “Or a man, it matters not.” he waved it off. He gave a grin, looking to Valerie. “I do not want you to worry about Sugar taking me away from you, brother. You are my dearest little brother. Nothing could ever separate us.” He smiled, leaning forward and placing a kiss on Valerie’s cheek. “I promise, brother.”

"It does not matter to me either! A romantic partner just seems like such a lovely thing to have." He smilled. "I know that, dearest brother! I suppose I am worried because we had been separated for such a long time. I do not want that to happen again." He said, sipping some of his tea again. He grinned at his brother, after putting his tea down, as if to say everything was ok.

Pablo’s ears drooped. He felt bad making his brother think that perhaps he did not love him as much as he did Sugar. Which was not true! Valerie was most important to Pablo! He was his dearly beloved brother. And Sugar…well, he cared deeply for Sugar, but Valerie had been his most trusted friend, his little brother, for most of his life! “Do you think she will take me away from you, brother?” Pablo leaned over the desk. “Or maybe there is another reason you are jealous? Do you wish for a romantic interest of your own?” he was worried. If his brother needed a romantic interest, by jove, Pablo would assist him in finding one!

"Ah, do not feel bad, brother!" He said, noticing Pablo's ears drooping. "Perhaps a little. I have not met her yet, though! I'm sure she is a wonderful lady. Also, I suppose so..." His voice trailed off. He had never really been in any romantic relationships! He thought it would be quite nice, though. He had never been too interested in anyone. The again, the only people he'd seen were The Batter, Zacharie, Elsens, and his Brother.
