Centurion lost in time
LUCTENMIRE- LILIC STAY 402/ Luctenmire Marius Titus found himself in Luctenmire, being handed a key to a specific house in what was called Lilac- a flower right? At least that’s what boggled his mind until he reached the area to unlock the door to a reasonably ok house with basic housing items in it, leaving confusing items such as microwaves, ovens and other new items left to chance here. He would check them later to be honest, for now he’d take a brisk walk through the area of Luctermire. Before he noticed, he felt … a little less protected. He had a red tunic on true, but he didn’t have his Centurion armor, or the comforting presence of his Gladius or the comfort of Damocles’s dagger with him. “What in the God’s name is GOING ON?!”
"Hello, warrior! You're like me, no? Came here with no warning? Got a house key and a pat on the head and a single piece of candy?"
How fortuitous! Just as soon as he learns of a challenge with enticing rewards, he spots what could be a perfect partner to do most of the work... er, help him take it on.
"I haven't found much of an answer for why we might be here, other than the fact that we are... and it's felt sensible to me to try to make the best of it."
He's sidled up to Marius now, like they're friends.
"But I do know that there's a resort here in town that's giving away a free vacation to anyone who can kill a shark. And I can't kill a shark, but... I'm damn near sure I could figure out how to poison one. And if I supply the poison and you supply the muscle -"
In his excitement, his words are coming more quickly than he can handle. He stops for an extended coughing fit that sounds kind of bad.
"Sorry... sorry! I actually -"
The coughing fit returns, though he's able to get control of it more quickly.
" - came down here to see if the sea air would be good for my health. But that doesn't do me any good one way or another when I just got here and; well I'd hate to spend all of my limited money on lodging just as soon as I got some."
He looks up at Marius, bright golden eyes sparkling with promise (or was it mischief?).
"So what do you say, friend? Think between the two of us we have what it takes to take on a shark?"
