​also if this is Jean’s world view it makes SO much sense why Harry’s ‘I don’t want to get better I want to get worse’ was so devastating to Jean. Like, it’s completely antithetical to his (Jean’s) world view. It’s basically Harry ‘giving up, leaving, and not fighting’

I cant help but notice how hopeful and romantic he is

In the drive scene there is a charcater named Rada, she is Jean ex!!!

Rada and Jean broke up because life happens. If u ask me Jean was already depressed but the breakup likely triggered an even deeper decline.

On to the nexts:

Jean sides with Harry apparently, and he is mad about not having the chance to feel bad and be professional for both of them (Harry and himself)

Take into consideration that Martin Luiga was part of the Disco Elysium team during its early development.

this just vindicates so much of what i've been vomiting about jean for a year. he doesn't think he's better than harry, there's never been an instance in which he thought that. he only finds it unfair he has to be the superior instead of his actual superior.

also, jean being hopeful and romantic beyond his ailment is so precious. that is precisely where his resentment (for lack of a better word) lies for harry. the end of a relationship doesn't signify the end of the world or love in its entirety. i cannot help but feel so endeared at the thought of him explaining the Perikarnassian Theory of Love as the Relay out of Death. so so precious.

one more thing, the name Rada means "joy". i found that detail very charming but tragic as well, considering how jean's depression possibly worsened after losing his "joy".
