Met my human a little over 4 years ago. Got to go see her bed exactly 4 years ago today, and she lets me sleep in it every night now. I really like her & I’m happy she let me pick her. (at Brunswick, Maine)

**UPDATE** **UPDATE** Captain will be going in for surgery on Thursday October 12th. I have found funding via a payment plan. This plan isn't quite affordable, so if you'd still like to help it would be greatly appreciated and you would still be put in the running to win the portrait. LINK IN BIO 🏩💉👨🏼‍⚕️🐾 The past few years of Captain's life have been his best, even with being lyme positive, having ehrlichia, and discovering his arthritis and SAS. He was swimming, hiking, wandering the woods, running, and making new human and dog friends. After a rough start to life he was finally getting to be a dog that got to enjoy every day, and every adventure. All this enjoyment had to be dampened, then put on hold, because Captain tore both ligaments in his right knee. He is now living with pain when he attempts even the most mundane thing like getting off the bed, or going up stairs. He currently cannot do any of the things he really enjoys other than walking, and that's been shortened to 10 minutes twice a day. For every week that Captain's knee goes unfixed, his chances of doing the same thing to the other one increase. The funds I am asking for will cover his surgery, including his special attention before and after surgery for his heart. The pre and post-op meds were not included in the vets estimate on paper, but were included in this funding goal. The same goes for the pre-op x-ray that will need to be done in order to take the proper measurements for the reconstruction. #buildcaptainsknee
