When people say the NRA is a terrorist organization, they don’t mean that the NRA is running through the streets waving machine guns, they mean that an outside organization has such a stranglehold on the government that it stops certain legislation from being passed by merely existing. That is what people are upset about.

I BROUGHT A GUN TO SCHOOL.

As a matter of fact, I did it a lot. The principal saw me and had two questions. “What season is open?” & “Still shooting the Remington?”

The fact of the matter is maybe a quarter of my class had guns in their vehicles.

We had a sportsman’s club on campus, we would hunt or shoot clays after school. The US coast guard had a M16a2 with a M203 grenade launcher in the Machine Department for 6 months for us to try to make a bouy launcher conversion. Not long before that there was an active JROTC and a rifle range on campus where you could take marksmanship for gym.

If I wanted a rifle, I would go down to Frank Siak at Easthampton hardware and buy any number of military surplus rifles out if his back room.

I can almost guarantee you there was atleast one place like that in your home town.

This wasn’t a long time ago… this was the mid 90s.

Just four years after I graduated highschool, two jackasses murdered a bunch of kids in Columbine and it hasn’t stopped.

They keep shooting and the media keeps plastering thier faces everywhere so they get their 15 minutes of fame.

So what happened? How did we lose our humanity? How can life mean so little?

You can blame the gun but they were more easily available back then than they are now.

You can blame the medications, but they help some people and even if they are a contributing factor, they aren’t the real problem, they are a symptom.

Why in a land with such opportunity, is one out of every six people on antidepressants? It seems as though we can do anything unless it involves our happiness and well being.

Maybe if mental healthcare wasn’t stigmatized people who needed it would seek help before it was too late.

Maybe a family member would be more concerned about the potential outcome over the shame of having a crazy person in the family.

We have been at war for longer than my daughter has been alive. If a government is so cavalier when it comes to human life maybe it becomes the attitude of its people.

Turn on the news or youtube and you can see more violence and death in an hour than anyone should have to see in their lifetime.

You will hear the statement “We need to do something”, but without getting to the heart of the problem, nothing will change.

We need to take a long hard look at what we are doing as a society that allows someone to get so far off course and do something so senseless.

Take away all the tools you want and some one who is willing to kill themselves and others are going to find a way. And if you ask me having less violent desperate people sounds like a safer and more healthy alternative.

I don’t know the answer.

Hudson H9

One of the most talked about new products for SHOT Show 2017 is the Hudson Mfg H9; a cross between a 1911 and a Glock. Using a striker fire system, the block-like appearance is due to their unique recoil system that reduces muzzle flip and recoil. It appears to have little to no polymer parts, something it doesn’t share with the Glock but pulls from the 1911. It has a slight cyberpunk, almost Ghost in the Shell silhouette. (GRH)

Springfield M1903

Classic American bolt-action rifle chambered in the venerable .30-06 cartridge. The rifle was born as a direct response for a better firearm to replace the Krag, which was outclassed by Mauser rifles used by the Spanish in the Battle of San Juan Hill. The M1903 was a copy of the Mauser action which led to a lawsuit which Mauser won, forcing the U.S government to pay the fines. Although it replaced the Krag, the M1903 was eventually replaced by the M1 Garand, however both rifles saw heavy use in World War II. (GRH)

Bitch, I was making $15 an hour, post tax, doing exactly that, the fuck is wrong with it? (Other than it was physically exhausting.)

We need to help America, as a whole, understand that college is not, and should not be he only option, and that there is NO SHAME in trade school or even getting a career right out of high school.

I, personally, know plumbers making $80,000+ a year. Better than most 4 year degree workers.

We need plumbers, janitors, truck-drivers, garbage collectors, machinists, to keep this nation running smoothly. And they deserve respect for what they do.
