think i might move to a fresh blog, purely because it’s been a Long Time that ive had this one and my tags are jumbled from me changing them a bunch....

the inability to cherish the good things that happen out of fear of them disappearing

you've been hurt, badly, haven't you? it's been a long time since you've felt comfortable in your own mind. everything's become a sign that you're going to be hurt again. so when something good does come along, you're not used to it. it feels foreign. it's weird and scary. you want to believe that it will work out, but you just can't. you've been burned too many times. because of this, you've become cynical. you never wanted it to be this way, but you're trying to protect yourself. i see how it's easier to not accept the good, out of fear of its inevitable end. once the dust settles, you're terrified of being alone again. but by doing this, you're never enjoying those good moments. you're letting them pass you by. you have to start letting the happiness come to you. even if it's in waves, isn't that better than not at all?

Amaryllis is extremely calm and collected when it comes to situations where someone, or a group of people are injured, regardless of if there’s blood everywhere. She has witnessed a lot of horrific injuries during her time as medic in Kalos’ war. She has had to perform amputations on people while keeping them from bleeding out at the same time, she’s had to rebreak bones that didn’t heal right and reheal them, she’s seen pretty much every gut-wrenching injury you could think of. Things as simple as blood don’t shake her or freak her out. Her mind sort of goes into an ‘auto pilot’ mode whenever it comes time to aid someone with their injury, going over the same practices and procedures as she did 3000 years ago, minus the healing. She gives people the same cut and dry care instructions regarding their injuries. It’s all very automatic for her.

High stress situations are also met with an unshakable calmness from her, for the same reasons. She’s very used to working for an entire 24 hours with no break or rest, constantly moving with only adrenaline keeping her on her feet. In the tents, she wouldn’t even take a break to eat or drink. Someone would feed her food as she worked, just so she didn’t have to stop, and she’d have energy to continue healing. That’s just how valuable she was. She still has some of that mentality to this day, working arduous hours at the Pokemon Centers around Lumiose to help anyone and everyone who comes in, regardless of if its a person or a pokemon. It takes a lot of convincing and pleading to get her to even consider taking a break, and the only thing that does get her to take time to relax is lack of work.
