Hey everyone!

I am quite new in the #studyblr community, so I think in order to get to know me better, I'll enlist some facts about myself:

• I study Political Science and Econ in my final year (B.A)

• I like (old) literature, reading, disney/ghibli movies, travelling, languages (I speak 🇮🇳🇵🇰🇬🇧🇫🇷), minimalism, yoga, cooking and baking

• Still stuck in the thg,pj,shadowhunters and the rest of the YA fantasy novels that peaked during 2015 - fandom

• I enjoy listening to chill / lofi music while studying, in fact I made a playlist myself which you can find here

My goals

to share my learning progress with you and hope that I can

use this platform to stay focused and motivated

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms 

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.

www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.

www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.

https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

BA UPDATE

Hey guys so these past months were very difficult for me for a lot of private reasons and I also got sick in between and caught Covid which made the writing process very complicated.

I struggled to remain focused and concentrated and also became a little bit depressed.

I am not telling this as auexcuse for my lack of activity but also to showcase the other side of being a student who has a lot of goals and wants to be the perfect, perfect daughter, sister, friends and has her life altogether which is very rarely the case.

I really hope that this community also acknowledges that, it's unrealistic to always be perfect and have their goals organised and be productive each day. The productivity challenge for example seems very interesting but it can also lead to a further depression for those who still struggle with this especially after undergoing a setbacks and other tough times.

This post is not supposed to attack those people who rarely get distracted by external factors and overall have a great resilience. I just also believe that it is important to give space to those people who are trying so hard to achieve this ideal and I personally and also one of them, and over the years I have learnt that it's not all that easy even though if you follow all those rules on time management, productive work, motivation, etc

there is no shame in asking for help

there is no shame in having a tutor

there is no shame in not getting As

there is no shame in not knowing what you want to study

there is no shame in having a job

there is no shame in struggling in a so-called "easy subject"

there is no shame in withdrawing from a course

there is no shame in changing your major

there is no shame in not taking a full load of classes in a semester

there is no shame in realizing your school may not be for you

Nov 25, 2021: Over the second wave lockdowns I was home but unable to find any motivation to work on my thesis. I have been trying for the past few months but have not been able to produce any substantial work. Most times, I find myself reading papers and works related to my work to make use of my time and not waste it sitting idly. But that’s no use if it doesn’t add up to a write up. So, umm.. yeah I’ve been struggling to write. My supervisor has been super understanding and not nagging me which is both a blessing and a curse tbh. At this point I would really love it if she went all bootcamp on me but I also know when that time does come, all hell will break loose and I’d be crying tears all over my keyboard! 

On the music end I’m listening to more raps and currently I’m obsessed with Khh artist Kid Milli! his latest single Kitty (feat. Gidle’s Miyeon) is actually about his kitty! hah! <3

Today is a free day. Well, a day free of distractions. No appointments or obligations to break up your concentration. Though you have a list of things that have to be done, mostly related to your studies. So you grab yourself a cup of coffee early in the morning, settle down at your desk, and collect all the pages you need to go over. Some background music to drown out the noises from the street.

I think i am in a slump idk what kind of slump but definitely a slump or in a long procrastination phase and i hate it honestly ? Also, I changed my desk space a bit and spaced out while cloud gazing ☁️ 🌤✨
