To say that the past few days had been rough would be the understatement of the year. The supertyphoon has hit all of us, no one was exempted. And to say that, we're all on the same boat would be a lie. No, we are not in the same boat. Others have the luxury to be on a boat, and others are barely hanging on a raft. I'm not saying that it's their fault that they have an easy life. Everyone has had a tough couple of days, and all I'm saying is we all should be sensitive on what to say to people because some of them are just barely getting by.

Anyways, here's a photo of a washed out but glorious sunrise days after the typhoon. Hope everyone is doing well. And cliché as it may seem but this too shall pass. ✨💛

Normally, I would NEVER praise any member of the royal family but Princess Diana is an obvious exception. And I think the reason why our desi mothers love and admire her so much is because in a way, she represented them.

She was this young and innocent girl who got married off to this older dude who had no personality whatsoever. She had to deal with crazy in-laws, who constantly criticise, bullied, and belittled her. She suffered from depression and eating disorders. And on top of all of that, she had to act as if nothing was wrong.

And for our mothers, Princess Diana was a beacon of hope. Someone who assured them; they weren’t alone. Though she wasn’t desi, it felt like she was because her story was reminiscent of so many South Asian women stuck in loveless or abusive marriages.

And even though most of us are too young to remember her, or were born years after her death, there is no doubt that Princess Diana holds a special place in our hearts.
