looking back, I’ve tried many different looks. To me, it’s a mode of self expression, and an easy way to switch gears and shake up the mundane routine plaguing that chapter of my life. It’s reinvention manifested, and oftentimes I’ve even categorized the type of music I wrote with what color I had my hair at the time. After much back and forth in my mind, I’ve decided that I’m going to open the vaults and release everything I’ve made in the past. Is this smart? No idea. Is it brand damaging? Maybe. But I can’t move forward until I’ve acknowledged my past and where I’ve come from. And I want you all to hear it. Even the imperfect stuff. Because if it’s anything I’ve learned this year it’s that this shit can be planned for so long but in the end, it’s not really up to me. I have to confess something...I have a fairly complicated relationship w my family which has resulted in being estranged from most of them, but I still talk to my dad because I know his heart is always been in the right place, and I can count on him always. 🤲🏻 Happy Father’s Day dad...thank you for always pushing me to be as hard working as possible. I always knew I got my artistry and ear for music from you. And if I can just brag on him for a second, I have to say that he’s one of the most brilliant mathematicians and computer engineers out there who helped build the tech world in the late 90’s & 2000’s, plays the violin beautifully AND is actually a super talented artist who paints me pictures of dogs in his retirement to cheer me up.
