Annual Parade in the Netherlands Pays Homage to Vincent van Gogh with Massive Flower Floats
The Coro Zundert parade in the Netherlands celebrates the countryās reputation as a global supplier of dahlia flowers since 1936. This year 19 teams payed homage and drew inspiration from the work of Vincent van Gogh. The flowery floats are filled with imagery, colors and expressions from van Goghās signature style. The floats are now a mixture of tradition and urban art, which are a beautiful spectacle Ā to attend yearly.Ā
Awesome

i love this. when you realize someone is sexist or bigoted or prejudiced in any way, it changes the way you look at that person. it changes how you see them.Ā forever.
this is real acting.Ā
Donāt you dare, for one minute, believe that my kindness makes me anything but insurmountable. I did not unzip my chest to every kind of hurt, and stagger back, wounded and alive, just to hear you call me weak for trying.

on the āits acceptable for women to wear menās clothes but not men to wearĀ womenās clothesā thing- its always forgotten that women and girls have been fighting in small but organised ways to wear āmasculineā (mostly read practical) clothing from at least the 1870s.Ā I know women in their 80s and girls in their tweens who at some time in their life have organised in order to wear the clothes they want - from making petitions to persuade their school to let them wear shorts not gym skirts, to trade union organising at work to make sure overalls and workboots are available in womenās sizes, to being the first women in the office to wear trousers, to just turning up at social events in the clothes they want to wear - and getting solidarity from other women doing the same thing - and of course not forgetting the women who risked violence, losing their job or families, or being arresting for cross-dressing laws because of what they wore.
There just hasnāt been such a widespread and longstanding organised push from men to wear skirts or other clothes coded feminine in everyday life.Ā That isnāt womenās fault.
