As we try to finalize our shooting locations, we're having some epic discussions about possible backups. If YOU live in the Chicagoland area and have access to a venue that could double as a place where a support group would meet(gyms,conference rooms,etc), feel free to contact us. The more funeral homes, the better!
Life Support casting session Sunday, June 12th! Exciting times. Hopefully we get one of these guys in!
What is Life Support?
Early 2011, comedians Chris Sowa, Dale Zawada, and Ryan Budds got together to write a TV pilot. It was a writing exercise for us, to get that "writer's room" feel and get a little practice\experience in for writing TV.
We finished the pilot script and had several ideas for future episodes. We were really high on the potential 1st season and really loved the pilot. We loved it so much we decided "Hey...let's film it." We're a tenacious trio and we know a lot of talented folks who could help us out, so why not?
So here we are. On June 12th, we have a full day of auditions. In July, we begin filming. If you want to do something, DO IT.
We're still trying to secure a few locations and props(we'll be posting the prop list soon in case any of you good folks could help us out) but we're going to get it done.
But what is Life Support ABOUT?
We all know there's support groups out there for alcoholics, drug addicts, depression,etc. But what about people who need support with Life. Life can be rough. For example, one character in life support is a blue collar mechanic who thinks he might be gay. There's no support group for him out there, which is why one of our main characters Chris decided to start a support group for the people who don't fit in a category and\or need more than what they could get from a regular support group.
This is an ensemble show but our main character is Bryan, a good guy with an OCD problem. But he doesn't join Life Support for that. There was a piece on this "unique" support group in the paper. There was a picture with that article which features the current group, and one of the members is a beautiful young woman named Abby. Bryan sees the beautiful woman and decides....yeah...he should get that OCD looked in to. :)
And that's LIFE SUPPORT. A group of interesting characters trying to figure out what's going on out there and to try to right the ship that is their life.
