When TSA sees all the meds and equipment I have to travel with...
Remember to check the TSACares website to see what you can bring and how much and how to get that much stuff through, etc. I have to bring a lot of medical stuff anytime I travel, too!
The amount or wheelchair damage done by people whose wheelchair it is not, is astronomical. Remember that. You're never guaranteed your wheelchair, in the condition it was in before the flight. If something happens to your flights or you have connecting flights, you may end up far far away from your wheelchair. Or close by and no one knows.
Just don't take a chair you love and need for everything I'd be terrified if I didn't have an option just for travel.
I am scared now, but man...
Don't trust any airline with your medical stuff. Seriously.
Don't check any necessary medical items.
It's way too stressful to fly as a disabled person in a wheelchair, let alone my autism, ADHD and anxiety.
If you have to fly call TSA Cares and they will help as much as they can to make sure you are prepared and that they are prepared to help you through the process once you arrive.
Have a safe trip, y'all!
