It’s 11pm on a chilly October night, and you’re hunched over one of the high wooden benches in your university’s lab. The only light in the room comes from the lamp you’re settled beside, and you’re completely lost in thought as you practice your running stitches on a rather beaten and bruised banana. You can’t quite seem to get it right, and with each failed attempt at securing an even stitch, you find yourself growing more and more frustrated. You’re about to pack it in and call it a night when there’s a loud crash behind you, and you spin around to see the shady figure of someone attempting to break into the lab.
“Fucking hell,” you mutter. Your heart rate spikes and your mouth runs dry, fear replacing your irritation as you watch a dark stranger jimmy open the window at the other side of the lab. You freeze, eyes wide in fear, and cower back as the person topples through the window, cursing lowly. They scramble to their feet, brushing themselves down, and when they take a step towards the centre of the room, your eyes light up with terrified recognition. “Spiderman?!” You exclaim.
writing is hard because sometimes you want to write a sentence that is pleasant and rhythmic and compelling to read and sometimes you just want to get the characters across a damn room
You raise your eyebrow at your boyfriend as he closes the front door to your apartment, and makes his way to your sofa.
“I don't really wanna talk about it…” you chuckle at his embarrassed tone as he sits next to you.
“I’m not going to judge you, you know. Just tell me.”
“If you must know, my lovely girlfriend, I was walking down the street, minding my own business… When out of nowhere these kids came running around the corner with water guns, and decided it would be a good idea to shoot me with them.” the corners of your mouth turn upward at his story.
“You were playing with water guns with the kids, weren't you?”
“Absolutely.” A laugh escapes your lips at his statement, you found it so endearing when he played with the kids that lived in your apartment building.
“You’re adorable, Peter Parker.” he cups your face with his hands, his warm chocolate brown eyes looking into yours.
“I could say the same about you, f/n l/n.” he decreases the gap between the two of you as his lips land on yours, your eyes flutter closed at his intimate gesture.
He pulls away after a moment, and smiles mischievously.
“So, you wanna join me outside for a water gun battle to the death?” You smirk at the curly brown haired boy.
Synopsis: You worked really hard for an internship you thought you were a shoe in for. Turns out, a certain boy from Queens takes the opportunity from you.

It had been about a month since you found out Peter, AKA your boyfriend, was Spider-Man. You were always worried about him when he was out on patrol, which was pretty much everyday. Considering the numerous amounts of bruises you found on him all the time, you thought your worries were valid, but he always assured you he was fine; it never made you worry any less though.
You thought you would have been more lonely when you thought about how much time he wouldn’t be able to spend with you because of his Spidey duties, but you were surprisingly fine. The thought of him helping people in need always made you a little less lonely. You figured that his passion for helping people should come before you. After all, if you don’t follow your passions in life, you won’t ever be truly happy. At least that was how you were looking at the situation.
At this current moment in time, you were waiting for Peter at his locker since you left school a bit early so you could see him today. You did love that he was able to help people everyday, but you did need some time with your boyfriend sometimes.
You almost instantly notice his head of curly hair through the crowd of people and smile at the sight. That is, until you see the expression on his face. You quickly walk over to the boy to see what was wrong.
“C’mon Parker, there’s no way anyone would find you even remotely attractive.” Your face twists in anger, as you notice Flash behind Peter.
“Peter, there you are.” He looks up at you in surprise, immediately recognizing the sound of your voice.
“Y/n? What are yo-“ before he could finish his sentence, your arms wrap around his neck, and your lips crash onto his. You look over at Flash, who was now sporting a look of unbelief on his face.
“How much did you pay this girl to kiss you, Parker?”
“Act-“
“I’m Peter’s girlfriend, actually. Do you have a problem with my boyfriend?” Your arms wraps around his in a protective manner.
“There’s no way you’re his girlfriend, I mean, look at him. There’s nothing about him that girls would actually like.” You roll your eyes at his comment.
“Coming from you, that’s rich.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Well, the fact that you get some sense of joy by making others feel small is one of the most horrific traits I've witnessed thus far, I don’t think any girl with brains would ever think that was attractive. Sadly, the only girls that would ever like you would be superficial girls who only care about money and status. So good luck with that.” On that note, you turn around, arm still wrapped around Peter’s, and walk away.
“Well, I wasn’t expecting that today.” The boy beside you jokes; you smile at the amused look on his face.
“He had it coming.”

So, what time are you going on patrol tonight?” You ask Peter as you flip through your textbook while lying on his double bed next to him
“Probably around 8, wanna come for a swing?” He smirks at you as you quickly shake your head.
“Absolutely not. And I hope you know I will never go ‘for a swing’ with you. I’ll have you know I like being alive, I’d rather not risk my life swinging around that high in the air.” He chuckles at your response, his arm wrapping around your waist.
“C’mon, I’ll make sure you stay safe. You trust me, right?” You look over at him with a raised brow.
“This has nothing to do with trust.”
“It has everything to do with trust.” His face snuggles into the crook of your neck, and you smile at the intimate gesture.
“You know how scared I am of heights, Pete.”
“I was scared of heights too, it just takes a leap of faith to get over your fears.” You could hear him mumble.
You set your textbook down and turn to face him. Your eyes bore into each others, a comfortable silence falls between the two of you. It was at this moment you noticed all the intricate gold flecks in his chocolate brown eyes. He looked peaceful as you stared into each other's eyes.
“Yeah, alright. I’ll do it.” His eyes widen in surprise, a wide smile on his face.
“Seriously?” You chuckle at his response.
“Hurry up and change before I change my mind.”

Oh how you wished you changed your mind. Your arms and legs are currently wrapped around Peter’s body tightly. Your eyes were shut and you were screaming at the top of your lungs. You could hear him laughing through his mask as he maneuvered through the buildings in New York. The wind flowed roughly through your hair, sending it in every direction.
“Please put me down Peter.” You yell at him, your eyes still squeezed shut.
“If you say so.” This continues for a couple minutes before you couldn't feel the harsh wind on your face anymore.
You cautiously open one eye, and see Peter smiling fondly at you. Your expression turns sheepish as your arms loosen around him. That is, until you realize where you were.
“Peter… why are we on top of the Brooklyn bridge.” Your eyes widen in fear as your grip increases twice fold.
“Relax, it’s safe up here, I won’t let you fall.” You give him a cautious glance, as your legs eventually loosen from his torso, and onto the stone below you.
You finally take the time to look around your surroundings, and realize how beautiful everything looked from above.
“It’s… stunning up here.” Your arms leave Peter’s neck and you see him sit down, his legs leisurely hanging from the ledge. He motions for you to sit next to him, and you decide to oblige.
“The sky looks so pretty from up here.” You look over at him, his face looked ethereal as the oranges and pinks of the sky reflect on his skin.
“I’ve been wanting to take you up here for a while, but you’ve always been too scared. I’m glad you let me today.” His hand finds yours, your eyes never leaving each other’s.
“Well, when you said we were going for a swing, I didn’t think you were going to take me somewhere like this.” You look over at the sun setting on New York, and admire the view. A comfortable silence falls over the two of you once again. Peter looks at you lovingly as he admires at your expression, your eyes shining as you admire the view.
“I think I’m falling in love with you… No, I think I am in love with you.” This quickly catches your attention, your eyes look over at him in surprise.
“I know we haven’t known each other for a very long time, and I know that we didn’t get along at first, but I find myself noticing just how much I think of you everyday.”
“I think about what you might be doing, how you might be feeling. I wonder if you’re thinking about me too, and if you miss me just as much as I miss being around you. It’s kind of crazy how much I wanna be with you, even if we’re just sitting on my bed together and studying, or talking about stupid things until midnight on the phone. I just… can’t help but feel this unbelievable amount of love for you.” His cheeks were tinged a bright shade of red as he realized how long his confession went on.
“Peter…”you lean in and let your lips glide over his, you let all your feelings come through that one sentimental kiss.
