Basic Tips For Newbies

So I’m not the best at tips but I’ll give it a shot.

1. REGULAR BARCODES DO. NOT. SET. OFF. ALARMS. if it’s printed onto the object (shampoo bottle, facial cleanser, etc) it won’t set off the alarms.

2. “How do I find a blindspot?” Walk around, crouch, behind shelves, displays whatever floats your boat. If you can’t see a camera, it can’t see you. But lol watch out for hidden cameras those are fuckers.

Now, on to what does set off towers… 3a. I’m not going to post a pic because mobile sucks balls but RFIDS will set off towers!! Always search for them. They’re puffy little thin rectangle stickers that have a barcode type design on them. Often put on makeup, almost any makeup or beauty products at bed bath and beyond, etc. They are also inside the boxes at a lot of stores so try to discreetly check for that. Just peel them off and put it on another item that doesn’t have one on. They can get very sticky so make sure you get it all off. 3b. They also come in a square sticker. Perfectly square, kind of bumpy. Usually placed on perfumes. Again, just peel off (these usually take some time. Super super sticky) and stick on to something else. 3c. RFIDs in paper tags. You know that little tag that’s attached to the clothing with the size and price on it? Some places and/or articles of clothing will have an RFID actually in the tag. You can just rip those off and hide it somewhere or throw them away. 3d. ALWAYS CHECK FOR THESE IN CLOTHES BECAUSE THESE ARE SNEAKY LITTLE SHITS. Usually in higher end clothes. I haven’t had to deal with them yet but I’m sure a ton of stores near me use them. On clothes, they all have those labels with washing directions. Look around for those. If you see one that is thick and usually says “remove before washing or wearing” or something of that sort, cut it off! It has an RFID embedded into the clothing. Isn’t source tagging great? Anyway. Like I said, just slice it off with little sewing scissors or a pocket knife or something, hide or discard. 3e. Those plastic tags that everyone knows and loves. Some need a magnet, some need hooks. If it had a hole in it, it needs a hook. If not, magnet. Wala (or however you spell it). Tags decoded. Now if you’re ever ballsy enough to get a hook or magnet, be extremely careful. That shit can get you caught so fast. Also I’ve heard to wrap your magnet in a bandana or something which is a good idea. Be careful and only detag using a magnet or hook when there’s a lot of noise, business, etc. There will be a loud pop. But also be careful because while a lot of customer talk next to you can override the sound, they may have also worked in retail and can know the sound and snitch. So magnets and hooks are very risky, which is why I’ll never buy them.

Alright on to fitting rooms 4a. If fitting rooms are unattended and unlocked (like target sometimes, wet seal sometimes, etc) you have come across the holy grail of shoplifting. Enjoy this moment. Embrace it. And don’t get sloppy and fuck up. What I mean by that is.. You’re still on camera. Unless you’re damn good at concealing quickly on floor or double hanging, you’re probably not going to make it into the fitting room without a camera catching a glimpse of you carrying a bright yellow top (example of outstanding, noticeable pattern) and then not having it a few minutes later (if you concealed or hid it). So basically what I’m trying to say is, it’s basically a free for all. But don’t go into the dressing room with just one bright pink top and a bunch of other dull greys then come out with no bright colors. If you’re unlucky and someone is bored and watching the cameras, they’ll be onto you if not customer servicing you right away. So if you’re lifting a polka dot top, a bright yellow tee, etc., always have at least two of that same shirt/pattern and only steal one. And try not to make too many tips to the dressing room if you’re not buying anything because that will seem sus. 4b. Fitting rooms that are locked and unattended. Just get an SA to open it for you. If they count themselves, only take one or two things. But always test it out and make sure you can come out without them counting again. Marshall’s does that. Like okay sure stop me from stealing this half ass pair of shorts that are like 60% off. These are still pretty easy, just be cautious.

How to not seem suspicious. 5a. Well for starters don’t clearly look up at the ceiling. If I’m getting clothes at a place with a fitting room, I don’t even bother to find a blind spot because I don’t need it. Just subtly look for cameras if you have to. But be careful!! 5b. Getting clothes but don’t wanna seem suspicious for not buying anything? Say you’re looking for an outfit for a dinner with family, a funeral, a football game. But please don’t use the same excuse multiple times at the same store. 5c. Ask questions. Ask opinions from the SAs. Hell, they work there they should be somewhat into fashion depending on where you are. Ask for different sizes. Just basically don’t be in a shell.

How to dress. 6a. Dress for the weather!! I know this is harder if you self harm and it’s summer so I’m sorry but then maybe just wear a very light long sleeve shirt. Capris are very acceptable in summer as well. Scarves can be used to your advantage but again, make sure the type is the kind you would wear in the season you’re in. 6b. If you’re getting clothes, a structured bag helps. Or bring in old shopping bags with you and use that. If you’re getting makeup, it really doesn’t matter. Using a slouchy bag might even seem less suspicious. 6c. Don’t come to the mall, ulta, even target in just sweats and a tshirt if you plan on lifting and you’re clearly under around 25. Just don’t. Work on your appearance. Break out that expensive makeup, put on nice shoes, make it seem like you could buy anything you want. But don’t go to target wearing an mk selma and Chanel. I mean you could but I wouldn’t. Just vary it by store. You want to blend in. Don’t be memorable.

Timing in between hauls 7a. If you’re actually lifting, don’t go to the same store more than twice per two weeks. And that’s really cutting it close. 7b. If you lift one day but need to go to the store and you’re actually buying something, no time is needed in between. Just make sure you don’t lift more than two days per two weeks. 7c. If you’re sloppy and think an SA is suspicious of you, more time is needed between hauls. I’d say don’t go back to that store for about 3-4 weeks. And go at a different time and day than you did. 7d. If you set off towers, don’t go back for about 3-4 weeks. Now my pet peeve is people setting off towers because it always makes me worried it will amp up security over time. I get that towers malfunction and even people buying stuff set off towers but it just bugs me. But I have set off towers before so I can’t really say anything more. I knew I was gonna set it off too but I couldn’t help it. Anyway, if you set off towers, I’d wait a long time to come back. Retail is actually really good at remembering people.

Boosting sites 8. Poshmark, mercari, vinted, eBay. Poshmark seems to be the most common. Just research those and find one you like.

Actual boosting tips 9a. Take about 20-30% off your item if it’s brand new. If it’s damaged, take 40-50% off. It all depends on the item and condition. Keep in mind poshmark makes the customer pay $5 for shipping which is a lot so if a customer tries to offer too low, don’t get too upset. People will ask for $30 or less for a naked palette. Just don’t take the offer and move on. (Unless you’re okay with accepting. I mean what, so you only earn $30 for that palette you got for free? It still adds up and you’re making someone’s day by only charging that much. I don’t boost but if I did boost lifted stuff, I’d sell it for super cheap every now and then.) 9b. Now I’m sure you’ve seen those hauls with 15+ palettes in them. We all have. But do not say you have like 7 more naked palettes in stock!!! That just seems weird because nobody has 7 naked 2s they got for their birthday that they don’t want. So just try to keep some time in between each item you sell if you’ve sold it before. Even use different sites if you want. Just don’t make it too suspicious that you have 10 extra $54 palettes. 9c. Now a question I’ve seen come up a lot is “I’m a minor and don’t want my parents to know I’m boosting.” Now honestly this will be hard to hide. If you have a car, just go to the post office ms drop it off there. Put it in the mail when your parents aren’t home. Basically just do anything when you’re parents aren’t there or say you’re sending it to a friend that moved or something. I can’t give much advice here but just don’t get caught sending out like six packages a month. They’ll start to get suspicious.

On to vocab from the community. 10. >Lifting: The act of shoplifting goods and/or services ILLEGALLY from a store and/or person (don’t steal from people, I’ll do more on that later.) >SA: Store/Sales associate. Employees in stores that can and will get you caught. Watch out for them. Be nice to them. >LP: Loss prevention/Loss Protection: The very people who’s sole job it is to keep you from coming home with hauls. May be 1 per store, may be one per region. Just assume they’re always in store, eyes glued to the cameras. >AP: Asset protection: (see LP) >Sus: Suspicious. The act of being or seeming suspicious. >CS'ed: Customer serviced. An SA may be suspicious of you then come up to you and either scare you away from just lifting or make you leave the store immediately. “Can I help you find a different size?” “Do you want a matching bra with those?” Etc. sometimes they’ll just be making conversation. It should be easy to differentiate. >Haul: All of the items you get in a trip. >Double-Dipping: When someone sends the same question to multiple people. Usually could be a question answered by researching, but is rarely done. >Free for all: This DOES NOT mean just shove everything into your bag without a care in the world. It means the store is relatively easy. Still be wary of cameras, customers, and other basic cautions. >Sweethearting: A method where the cashier doesn’t ring an item up for their friend or rings up something of a lesser value. Can be as simple as giving a free drink at Starbucks but on such a small scale like that, it’s usually never noticed or punished.

Places you should NOT lift from 11. Goodwill, churches, public libraries, flea markets, farmers markets, festivals where people sell their own items, family owned businesses, people, teachers, fairs, places that will hurt the owner.

Places you should lift from 12. Big corporations (target, Macy’s, etc), amusement parks, kill shelters.

If you’re caught 13. Be honest. Admit. Make up a story about how it was your first time and you thought it’d be fun because your friend gets so much. Cry. But be respectful of them. Apologize like there’s no tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll go easy on you.

Stores I can give tips on if needed 14a. Mall stores: Francesca’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s, wet seal, forever 21, hot topic, Victoria’s Secret, pink, Claire’s, icing, PAC sun, American eagle, bath and body works, Windsor, Charlotte Russe 14b. Other: Target, Bed bath and beyond, pier 1 imports, michaels, hobby lobby, Home Depot, Sally’s, CVS

Basic Lifting Protocol I. Do NOT get cocky. II. Do NOT get greedy. III. Don’t leave any evidence behind. IV. Don’t leave the fitting rooms a mess. V. Don’t hurt others economically while lifting (see #11 above) VI. Don’t argue when caught. Be respectful. VII. Don’t be sloppy. VIII. Always check for tags. Everywhere. Three times. IX. Do “shop” confidently. Be intrigued. X. Always be a bad bitch.

BODY PACKING

I haven’t seen any posts on body packing and I like to think of myself as pretty experienced when it comes to this so I’m gonna tell y’all what I do😘💖💫

DIFFERENT WAYS TO BODY PACK

1. This is the most obvious and I guess easiest way, assuming you’re lifting clothes you just wear the clothes under what you are already wearing. This is self-explanatory

2. This is my FAVORITE way you can get so much, I have a really cheap corset and I just wear that under a loose fitting shirt so the boning doesn’t show and you can jam pack that thing full of stuff (not just clothes) and not a single lump will show😈

3. ‘Lining yourself’ lets say you’re lifting two pairs of pants and you are already wearing one under the pants you came in wearing and you can shove another pair on so you take your shirt off and you for example fold the waist band in a little bit put one leg of the pants down your arm and one down your torso. Put your shirt and jacket back on and you’re good to go💫

4. The elastic method: lift some elastic from a craft store, measure your waist, subtract a couple inches and sew it together. Next time you go lifting put the elastic around your waist and since it is nice and tight it will hold things to you without them slipping out. This works best for lighter items like panties or clothes. Hard plastic items might slip out but if you make it tight enough I’m sure you can do it with makeup😜

5. This is for on floor concealing but basically you just shove shit In your boots. Let’s say you’re in Sephora and you have a long coat and tall boots on, you can crouch down to look at something have your coat go over your boots and put whatever is in your hand into your boot and viola!🙌

6. This is also for on the floor concealing and I’m not even sure if this counts as body packing but you just put your thing in your armpit and walk out this is good for little things but if you have a big wallet you can put larger things behind the wallet and put the wallet plus whatever your lifting in your armpit to block the view of what your lifting😄

Methods I Use

Tied Sleeves: I get a jacket or sweater and tie the sleeves and proceed to fill them with shit.

Pants: I shove things like face masks, jeans, etc. in the waist band of my pants while i have a loose shirt or hoodie on.

Pockets: I put little things on my hoodie or jeans pockets

Phone Method: I have a video of this on my dash, basically i conceal something behind my phone and either put it in my bag or hoodie pocket.

Tackle Box: Good for Wälmärt or any place that sells these and other things you’d like to snatch. Me and an old friend (years ago) would go into Wälmärt and get a tackle box while speaking about “our dads fishing trip” as to not seem sus. We would take out the interior organizer and fill it up with makeup, chargers, etc. The. go to self checkout and press don’t want to bag. It will read up as overweight. We got a bunch of shit from this and we only had to pay $5 for the box. We would always return the box and get our $5 back.

On Body: I will put on clothes under my clothes. Shirts under my hoodie/ shirt, shorts under my jeans, etc.

Sleeve: I will shove small things such as lip gloss, etc. in my sleeve and into my pocket or shopping bag.

I will barely ever use my purse to keep shit in unless i have absolutely no space in my other bags or on body. I also will only put things in my purse after i’m out the store, in the bathroom. Even then i make sure the item is covered by something black (the purse lining is black) so you can’t tell. I’ve never been stopped. Only been sussed at Lülü and Lüsh (after being a bit sloppy). Be careful! Hope you guys find this helpful. I believe it’s really helpful to avoid touching or going in your purse while snatching up some goodies, and best to keep stuff out of it.

Again, not mine (source), but super helpful. I honestly believe that lifters should be reading every single piece of advice possible. With a grain of salt of course, but really… we need all the advice we can get lol.

Abercrombie & Fitch With Receipt … Will exchange or refund any original condition merchandise. No time limit. It is up to the manager’s discretion whether to accept the return. Without Receipt … Store credit issued without receipt. LP … Rarely in store LP. Sale staff / managers responsible for SL. No chase policy. Cameras are not actively monitored.

Academy Sports + Outdoors With Receipt … An even exchange or refund based upon the original payment. Without Receipt … An even exchange or merchandise card. LP … Will have in-store LP. A mix of static and PTZ cameras. Sensormatic security towers with pencil tags.

A.C. More (The Craft Store) With Receipt … 90 day return with all products. All merchandise must be in new condition, in its original unopened packaging. Only defective merchandise may be returned with opened packaging. Without receipt … Items will need manager approval. They will back check system to see if item was purchased in that store. LP … Most stores do not have LP on site. Some cameras.

Advanced Auto With Receipt … Return within 90 days for exchange or refund based on original method of payment. After 90 days merchandise credit will be issued. Without Receipt … Merchandise credit will be issued. You have to show your license. LP … There is no LP in most stores. Some cameras with recorders.

Aéropostale With Receipt … Returns will be refunded in the manner in which the original purchase was made. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded with a Gift Card. Without Receipt … You have to show your license. Will take back items and give a gift card. No limit to amount of returns. LP …No active LP in store. Cameras are recorded, but not monitored.

Best Buy With Receipt … All returns and exchanges must be in original condition and include all accessories. 30-day return period for most items. 14-day return period on computers, monitors, notebook computers, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors and video games purchased as used. Reserves the right to request identification and to deny any return. Without Receipt … No Receipt / No Return. LP … Has active and good LP. Always has at least 2 LP on duty at all times. Has a no chase policy.

Coach With Receipt… Unused merchandise may be returned at any time for a refund with original receipt. Without a receipt…you can exchange it/store credit. It has to be merchandise from a full price coach store (not from an outlet). LP… LP isn’t there everyday, usually Thursday through Sunday. Pretty good camera system.

Costco With Receipt … Will take back any items, anytime , except the following must be returned within 90 days for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD / MP3 players and cellular phones. Without receipt … You do not need a receipt to return items. You will need your membership card so they can look up your purchase. No returns without a membership card. LP … Will chase you. Will prosecute. At least 2 LP on duty at all times. Cameras are monitored and recorded.

Dick’s Sporting Goods With Receipt… Items must be returned within 90 days. Without Receipt… Store credit Has LP

Dillard’s With Receipt… 30 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt … MUST HAVE POP LABEL (Proof of Purchase) Receive store credit. May check/copy I.D LP… Has active and good LP. Always has at least 2 LP on duty at all times. Will chase you. Cameras are actively monitored.

Express With Receipt….90 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Exchange only. Will not give store credit. LP…None active. Some Cameras.

Famous Footwear With Receipt…30 days for full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Receive store credit. Will check / copy your ID. LP…None active. No Cameras.

Hobby Lobby With Receipt…60 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Receive store credit over $10.00, Cash if under $10.00 LP..active,rotates stores. Cameras placed sporadically.

Hollister With Receipt….ANY time for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Receive store credit. May check / copy ID. Some Hollisters use pin hole cameras that only point down. A&F and Hollister don’t mix hidden and visible cams. It’s either all hidden cams or all cam domes. So if you see any domes then that means there are no hiddens. They are also not actively monitored; only accessible by the district’s single LP officer and the Home Office, no one else.

Home Depot With Receipt….90 days for a full refund on most items. Some items will be limited to 15 or 30 days. Without Receipt…Receive store credit LP… Home Depot has the best camera security system next to Target. There is a least one active camera on every aisle, but they also have twice as many dummy cameras as real. The LP office will very from store to store … some are up front others are in the back next to the office. They do have a no touch/no chase policy and due to resent cut backs there will be only one LP on during busier hours. HD will have twice as many employees as Lowes and they are constantly roaming the store.

Gap With Receipt…30 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt..Receive store credit (non transferable merchandise credit)Will check/copy ID LP none active. No cameras.

JcPenney With Receipt…90 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Receive store credit. Will copy / check ID. LP … Has active and good LP. Always has at least 2 LP on duty at all times. Will chase you. Cameras are actively monitored.

Jcrew With Receipt…30 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt…Receive store credit. Will check / copy ID. LP..none active. No cameras.

Journeys With Receipt … An even exchange or refund based upon the original payment. Without Receipt … An even exchange LP … No store LP. Limited Security

Kmart With Receipt … You return the item within 28 days of purchase. The item is in resalable condition - It is unworn, unopened, unused and in its original condition. Without Receipt … No Receipt / No Return LP … At least 1 while store is open. Cameras are sporadically placed and are monitored at times. Can not chase shoplifters past the sidewalk.

Kohl’s With Receipt … A cash or credit refund, based on the original method of payment or an even exchange. No time limit. Without Receipt … An even exchange or a merchandise card LP … Always at least 1 LP. All Cameras are PTZ and are sporadically placed and monitored at all times. Kohls has video cameras that record everyone and everything entering and exiting their dressing rooms. These surveillance tapes are admissible in court. If you hear Code 500 over the intercom, and managers being asked to come to the front of the store, this is their code for shoplifters.

Levi Store With Receipt…60 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt..Receive store credit. May check / copy ID. Has district LP that rotates stores.Cameras are sporadically placed and are monitored at times.

L.L. Bean With Receipt … Will return for full refund. No time limit. Without Receipt … Will do an even exchange or a merchandise card. Will check system to see if item was purchased. Has district LP that rotates stores.Cameras are sporadically placed and are monitored at times.

Lowes LP…Lowes … this varies from store to store … some will have a sliding camera system. This is a long shiny tube running down the main aisles that cameras run back and forth on … you never know where the cameras are. All stores will have PTZ over Tools and Faucets (the two most common lifted items). There will be PTZ cameras on the outside also. Some stores will have cameras on every aisle while others wont have any. Over each POS and registers and they will tag a pic of you when you do a receiptless return. There is always one LP on while the store is open, rarely will there be two. They are plain clothed and do walk the store. The LP office in 90% of their stores is by the contractors doors. You will see a door with a key pad and an eye hole.

Macy’s With Receipt … 180 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt … MUST HAVE POP LABEL (Proof of Purchase) LP … Has active and good LP. Always has at least 2 LP on duty at all times. Will chase you. Cameras are actively monitored. Cameras have zoom but not full tilt and pan. Known for placing same sex employees in dressing rooms. In some stores (in some states) they can have a camera pointed in the direction of the dressing rooms, or they just can’t have them “recording” and they have to be watched by same sex personnel. Nordstrom Nordstrom has possibly the most famously liberal return policy among the major retailers. First of all, there’s no time limit. And gift stickers affixed to the packaging act as receipts for the full merchandise value. Using that information, the store’s computer system can easily find anything paid for by credit card with an ID. LP… extremely good & active LP. Undercover LP is always present in the women’s dept but not always in the men’s.

Sam’s Club Almost all items are returnable anytime with a receipt. The exceptions (besides cigarettes and alcohol): you have 90 days for most electronics and 30 days for cell phones. Without a receipt, credit is issued for the lowest price available for that product. No membership is required for returns but members bringing back fresh food items get twice the amount or a full refund and a replacement of the item with Sam’s 200% guarantee. LP… Active. Target Target has revised its return policy to allow for more returns without a receipt, but still caps the total to $70 worth of merchandise annually. The Lift-Witch complete and comprehensive guide on how to lift without a magnet or hook

Different tags can be removed different ways, some of which I won’t go into to here only because I want these tips to be as general as possible in order to be helpful to more people. These tips will work on every tag I’ve ever encountered except 2alarm or 3alarm tags which are the physical embodiment of the devil.

These techniques are tried and tested personally by me, my favourite and most foolproof techniques are marked with an asterisk(*).

Do not read this expecting some miracle technique, this is all just common sense. Also do not try these all in one go, work on each technique one by one and polish your skills to avoid getting cocky or sloppy.

Sus= suspicious, getting caught or being close “Don’t act sus” “security looked super sus” “I hope they don’t sus me out” “I think my mum has sussed out where all these new things are coming from”

*IMPORTANT INFO TO REMEMBER BEFORE DETAGGING* 1. Never detag on the shop floor, take items into the changing room and detag and conceal in your bag or under clothes in there. Sneak items into the changing room unseen by: - slipping items into your bag or pockets or down the front of your trousers or bra in a blindspot (an area where you cannot be seen by cameras, be sure that no staff or customers can see you either) - dumping an open, mostly empty shopping bag below a rail of clothes then subtlety dropping clothes on the hanger into the bag in a blindspot (this one requires super awareness of who can and can’t see you behind your back, very dangerous and not for rookies) when you then pick up this bag be sure to cover the opening of it with your jacket or clothes which you wish to take into the changing room - slipping small items into the pockets of a coat or pair of jeans that you’ll then take into the changing room (stick to things like small wallets and jewellery that are found within or near the clothing section, it will look weird if you are carrying a big coat around the electronics) - *hanging more than one item on a hanger is the easiest and most fool proof way of getting items into the changing room to detag. Grab something chunky and something long, like a floaty dress and and a chunky cardigan or jacket, then hang what ever you want on the neckline of one of the items, you can also hang things on the back loops of jeans, the loop sometimes found on the inside of jacket or a looped label. A few things to watch out for: jackets may fall off the hanger due to the extra weight and reveal your concealment, and make you look nervous and sus, you can avoid this by closing up the jacket, this will also hide the item hung on the jackets loop far better. And make sure to pass a mirror before entering the changing rooms to check if you have any hangers sticking out and hold something against yourself as if you’re checking to make sure it suits you so you don’t look sus. Also if the fitting room attendant takes the items off of you and find the double hung items you can just act dumb and say “oh I knew I had more items” “oops sorry I forgot I was making an outfit” it sounds out of the ordinary but it’s never not worked for me. 2. Some paper tags and barcode stickers have RFID tags hidden inside, these can be deactivated by making a tear which ruins the electronic signal, but I prefer to be leave these behind inside the pockets of jeans or a coat. 3. Always take a pair of jeans or a coat with lots of pockets I to the changing room to hide all your tags in, I find a coat is best because you can hang hangers inside to make more space inside your bag which looks less sus and leaves more room for more stolen goods. A coat isn’t always available though or looks sus in the summer but jeans are stocked year round so is a safe bet. Always remember to take anything that you left tags inside back out to the shop floor and dump somewhere messy in the store or back where you found it, never give it to the changing room attendant! If they find the tags it will be almost impossible to talk your way out of it. 4. Ink tags are not there as a deterrent, they are never fake and do contain ink that will stain your skin and your clothes if it is broken open and it will break open if you are too rough and you will be caught for sure. You need to be super careful with ink tags, super super careful. 5. Do not over stuff your bags, you might as well write “shoplifter” across your forehead in day glow glitter if you’re gonna walk around with a over stuffed bag.

Okay detagging techniques: 1. *Yank the tag, just yank it. Pull the fabric taut and yank the tag itself firmly until there is a rip in the fabric big enough to pull the tag through. Be careful not to pull too hard and make a big, suspicious noise and a big ugly hole. With ink tags you’re better to hold the tag at the edge, and yank softly but firmly, if you keep your hands on the sides it shouldn’t break. 2. Using a seam ripper to make a hole big enough to pull the tag through, get the seam ripper as close to the pin that hold the tag on the garment as possible and dig the point I to the hole made by the pin and push forward softly to rip the fabric. A seam ripper is a tiny metal tool, sort of like a two pronged fork with a razor between the prongs, it is used for ripping out bad seams believe it or not but works just as well on fabrics. Keep your seam ripper inside a small sowing kit inside your bag so that if you get searched you can say you just carry it as part of the kit in case of a wardrobe malfunction, this will get you a far more lenient punishment than if you were caught with the seam ripper on its own. You can find these in any haberdashers and most craft stores. 3. A small pair of nail scissors is also good for digging at the hole made by the pin to make a big enough gap for the tag to come through. Again carry it inside a small nail care kit with nail files and polish and things so you cannot be charged with “going equipped” to steal. 4. A craft knife does the same job but if you are found carrying these around it could look super weird so I’d suggest not carrying these or cutting a small slit in the lining of your handbag and slipping it in there. 5. Plant clippers or socateurs with a thin set of blades will easily cut through tag pins and wires but make a loud sus sound when they snip and could get you caught. Also are much harder to explain or hide than a craft knife, I’d suggest hiding in the handbag lining and only carry them if you truly 100% need them.

Hiding your tags DO NOT LEAVE THEM BEHIND IN THE CHANGING ROOM this is how most shoplifters got caught when I worked in retail. You must hide them and there are a few ways to do this: 1. Take the tags with you and hide them in the pockets of jackets and jeans as you walk about, this is super dangerous and should only be done if the other three methods are impossible. 2. *Hide tags inside the pockets of a jacket or pair of jeans or anything with pockets that you brought into the changing room with you, when you leave do not give the item with hidden tags to the changing room attendant, take it with you and out it so wwheres messy or back where you found it so that the tags will not be found until you are long gone. 3. Tape tags to the bottom of the changing room stool, be careful because the tape might make noise when you peel it and the tag could be found as you leave, fairly risky. 4. If the changing room dividers are thick enough you can reach up and set the tag on top of it. I have been back to shops I did this to a year ago and the tags are still there covered in dust ahahah be careful not to drop the tags I to other changing rooms or too near the door where someone might see your hand.

shoplifting routine + tips

before i sleep, i’m going to type out some things i collected from lift-pros who have deactivated their blogs and adopted into my own routine! i’ll just detail my routine and try to give a few tips at the end so that the newer lifters can have some of the wisdom of those who have left us.

routine: 

whenever i go lifting, i always bring a medium sized purse and a large shopping bag. i gently fold the shopping bag and put it inside of my purse. other than this, i’ll bring:

my magnet and hook (i hide them inside of these hidden zippers in my purse) {some lifters use scissors. same goes.}

a wallet with a decent amount of money (if i have it) in case i get caught 

earphones (personal preference, but i find that music calms me and makes me look nonchalant. sometimes i won’t even listen to anything so that i can appear occupied, but actually be attentively listening around me.)

when i enter my first store, i’ll browse around, examining fabric, price tags, comparing clothes to my body in the mirrors. this is useful for concealing. if you conceal an item of clothing in another, mirrors are so good for checking if you can see it. just look as if you’re checking our your appearance. 

try to take some items without hangers, so that you can put those items onto hangers when you have extras. 

once i’ve taken a couple items i want along with some larger items with pockets (jeans, overalls, collared shirts) i’ll go to a changing room. if an attendant asks me how many items i have, i’ll lie and say 2 less than what i have. if they physically count the items, then i’ll probably only steal one item. if no one gives a shit, then still, don’t be too careless about stealing items. there’s still video cameras. 

***MAKE SURE not to steal a boldly printed/colored item that’s showing in your pile of clothing or the first item that you’re holding. they’ll probably notice it’s gone, or at least there’s a greater risk. ***

in the changing room, i’ll probably take my shoes off so i don’t look suspicious from underneath the curtain. and if the curtain doesn’t fully close, i ALWAYS hold it closed with my body as i detag. a lady once walked in on me as i was detagging and i nearly had a heart attack, thankfully she didn’t see anything. 

after i take the tags off of the items i want, i’ll put the tags into or onto the clothes i don’t want. DOUBLE CHECK FOR TAGS PLEASE!!!! THERE’S CHANCES OF EXTRA HARD AND SOFT TAGS. i’ll put the clothes i detagged in my purse. if i don’t have space, i might wear the item of clothing if it’s small and unnoticeable. when i exit the changing room, i’ll most likely leave one item that has been untouched on the rack outside of the changing room. 

PLEASE MAKE SURE NOT TO LEAVE THE ITEM WITH THE EXTRA TAGS ON OR IN IT ON THE RACK OR WITH THE ATTENDANT the attendant will be touching these items the soonest and it’s pretty sketchy when a tag falls out of a pocket or if there’s an extra on there. 

i usually take the items with the tags and bring them back out to the store, if i’m not lazy i’ll put it back where it came from. i always try to put it in the middle of the rack.

then i exit the store, trying to look calm. 

so you probably noticed i haven’t mentioned the shopping bags yet. this isn’t what everyone does, but i always head to the bathroom and put the clothes i stole into the bag. it works for me because i can’t necessarily pull off walking into my mall with a bag in hand, but if you want to start off with the bag, just put something thin and dark inside the bag to put on top of the clothes you stole. just in case. 

then i hit up other stores! except at these other stores, i can put the clothes i take into the shopping bag.

tips: 

1. always double check for tags on the clothing. this is a given, but really, you have to check for any kind of tag. you might have gotten the hard tag off, but there could still be a soft tag somewhere, or some other lifter could’ve left a tag somewhere. hold up the price tags and clothing tags up to the light and look for chips and shit.

2. HIDE your tools. please. hide them. if the LP sees your tools, you’ll get punished so much harder because you were shoplifting with the intent.

3. DON’T RUN!!! don’t run. if you run, well, it depends on store policy. but if you run, they might tackle you or call the police or some shit.

4. if you don’t have a good feeling about a place, drop the shit and get out. seriously. get out. leave the mall if you have to. give it a little time before you return. just don’t risk it. no item is worth a record, especially since we’re all young with our futures ahead of us.

5. find somewhere to put your tags. don’t be careless. i’ve seen people just leave the tags in the changing room, it’s not necessarily traceable but it draws attention to the fact that shoplifting is prevalent in the store. what i’ve found is putting them inside of purses, pockets is effective. and of course, retagging clothing as well. i usually tag the inner tag on the seam of the clothing. 

6. always be nice to the SA. if they talk to you, they’re just doing their job and being polite. but if they’re following you around a little too closely, they’re probably suspicious of you. 

7. dress appropriately for the store. this is also a given, but don’t wear shit like black hoodies and sweatpants, cause you probably look like a lifter who wants to wear clothing out of the store. also, i recommend changing your appearance up a little.

8. don’tttt please don’t go to one store too much and never buy anything. give it some time. if an store attendant asks, i like to say that i’m just trying on things and i’m going to tell my mom what i want so we can come back. also, don’t always go at like 4:00 on a tuesday. change it up, so you catch different employees at different shifts. 

9. don’t grab a shitton of stuff and then steal a large portion of it. for me it’s usually: stealing one item for every four pieces i grab, two if the SA’s aren’t nearby or paying attention, or if i concealed really well.  

10. you don’t NEED to buy a small thing to alleviate suspicion. i understand the logic, but honestly i’d just get out of the store. don’t stay longer than you need to. 

11. when you’re leaving, don’t rush out. walk sloow and calm like any normal shopper would. i get it. you wanna get out ASAP. but you also don’t want to be sus. fake a phone call if you must. or look at your phone. just be natural. 

12. DON’T BE AFRAID TO WASTE A DAY ON SCOUTING. lifting at a new store is very exciting but sometimes they might have something you’re not familiar with, like at zara, they will scan every single clothing item and make sure there’s a tag when you’re entering and leaving the changing room. when you scout, figure out the layout, security cameras, SA procedures

13. THIS IS REALLY USEFUL FOR ME idk if it’s useful for you but some of the stores i go to have a level for men’s wear and a level for women. often times, the changing rooms on the men’s level will have fewer people and fewer SA’s. if you feel like the SA’s on the women’s level are hardasses about the clothes in your arm, check out the men’s level. 

14. DON’T TAKE WHAT YOU DON’T NEED. don’t be greedy. this is just me, but i take only things i will actually wear. some people boost, so that’s different, but don’t be greedy. stores will probably notice a larger loss in inventory way sooner. pleaseee don’t be greedy. sometimes shoplifting is so easy you think you can get away with anything, but it’s still illegal at the end of the day. only take things you really want. i always look at store websites before hitting up stores so i have an idea of what i want and i have my limits. be smart about it. there’s a ton of big, flashy hauls on tumblr, but you don’t need to compete with others. go at your own speed. 

15. don’t ever underestimate the fact that shoplifting is still a crime. even if you’re a teenager, you’ll be punished. don’t forget that. you can still stick it to the man, just, be careful. 

other methods besides dressing room concealing:

so there’s a lot of other methods out there, especially just on the floor concealing where you put things in your bag or your sleeve. personally, it doesn’t work for me, so i’m sorry i didn’t cover it. i’m afraid of blind spots not actually being blind spots and i’m also afraid of tags. if there’s jewelry i want or something non-clothing, i’ll hide it under the clothes in my arm. this is only if the SA will not take these things from me and count them. so you need prior knowledge. anyways, a lot of jewelry i’ve seen have tags as well so be careful. i’ve taken shoes, bikinis, jewelry, socks and underwear this way ahaha i’d say it’s effective but you need to know your store.

Ok since sunday nights are boring because everything closes early I have decided to share some tip and tricks! I get a lot of asks and usually reply privatly but recently posted one publicly and some people found it super useful so I am going to make a semi-master list of things that work for me. Under a cut of course. This won’t be everything I use but, it will be helpful to people with questions on certain stores/new lifters or if you just are looking for new ways to conceal. 

🌸 NUMBER ONE RULE EVER IS KNOW THE AREA of the store. I am not talking about the store layout, type of store, I am talking location of the property. Macy’s can be in shitholes with hella good security or be in snooty folk town with almost non-existent LP.   

🌸 Rule 2 NEVER NEVER ASSUME THERE IS NO LP. As stated above even if its a snooty area, they will and can have lp. Example, A very very rich part of my city has a walking outdoor strip mall type thing ( I forget the word) Of literally just makeup stores,mac,sephora,ulta, bloomingdales and whathaveyou. They have a fuck ton of security. But in the higher middle class area its bare none. Always explore all options of places you want to lift and always count the Lp, some will be labeled while others wont, and some may be straight up police officers stationed in that store. This can be good and bad, because it means its a high shrink store so there are quite possibly very easy ways to steal from these locations as the police are mostly a scare tactic. It is up to you, as I have mentioned before I have lifted so much from stores like this its stupid. Use your own judgement. 

🌸 Rule 3 ALWAYS no matter what carry your lifting tools on your fucking body. I don’t care if you'rer a dude or androgynouss or whatever you identify as. If you do ever get stopped it saves you automatic jail time and a felony. I keep my hook and mini magnets on my left bra cup and my big magnet on my right bra strap that wrapsaround my body. Exacto knifes and smallscissorss are okay to carry in a bag, pocket w/e because they are not considered to be under the category of intended theft. If you don’t wear a bra, use spanx, a back brace, shoulder braces, even your fucking shoes.This is just me but I also have a fucking lock pick (so extra) But half the good stuff is locked up and their locks are not good at all, you could prob do it with a bobby pin tbh.

🌸 Rule 4 ALWAYS ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WEAR A DISGUISES.I DONT GIVE A FUCK IF YOU ALREADY “blend in” GET A FUCKING DECENT WIG, GET 3, USE MAKEUP TO CHANGE YOUR FACE, GLASSES, CONTACTS, WHATEVER. I have 15 wigs. I use them all. If they ever for some reason tracks something back to you, this is your defense. Don’t confess, obvi. But this is your last line.

🌸 Rule 5 NEVER take more than 10 items from one store (unless its likeclairess or some shit) This will cause them to up their security and you don’t want that. I explained it in a previous post. You want to aim for 3-5 per store. 

🌸 Rule 6 OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR WORST ENEMY I should not have to explain this just fucking never do anything in front of them, because it’s human nature their jealously kicks in and they want to tattle. NEVER. Thats the whole reason antis exist. “they get this I don’t and its wrong according to these old white men” whatever just don’t.

Now onto the details. The mini magnets are the small circular ones from home depot, they open any kind of hook blocker, like at sallys on hair extensions or at walmart on some electronics, and you can make yourself a bracelet that either holds them or they cling to for easy access and to not look sus while “examining” the price tag, you and use anywhere between 4 or 6 and be fine. The big magnet I use for clothing tags, bags, anything else magnetic is 15000gs golf detacher I bought online, just google it. Same for the hook. Same for the lock pick if you wana go hard(but please practice first I have had to do this for like 4 years before so yeah). Go to michaels or A.C Moore and get yourself the exacto knife and small scissors. And get a pack of rubber bands, they are a game changer. Bit tall boots, you can drop things in, panties, makeup, accessories, whatever as you go! Please wear thick socks tho or else your feet will  hurt. You can take them out in the bathrooms. SPANX! Use to conceal palettes, brushes, even clothing literally almost anything really, HUGE game changer.

SEPHORA- I went into a pretty detailed explanation for sephora last post, so I will just copy paste that and put in a few more tips  For sephora it’s completely dependent on the location. Similar to ulta, in the poor parts of town they usually have beefed up security so try to go for richer, snooty or middle class stores. If your sephora is in a mall, leave it for last as in your last lifting stop before you leave. If it’s a stand alone sometimes you can get away with just walking out with a bag (like the tote I have done this 4 times) if it’s busy. In every sephora I have been to they have a big slanted display for the sephora brand products and at least 3 big ass pillars with mirrors on them. Usually only one side of the slanted display is covered by cameras ( I can think of 3 locations like this off the top of my head), And you can do the walk and conceal method when passing by a pillar that is blocking you from view ( This is my favorite ) just make sure your not on the mirror side doing this lmao. Do this as you are browsing, and try to make sure no SA’s see you with said item. Example: Find a palette, grab it look at price, swatch, walk to blind spot drop in bag and keep walking to next target item. Lastly you can always find blind spots in regular makeup aisles, every sephora I go to has at least 2-3 blind spots just in general. Your biggest problem in sephora are the SAs. They will make or break your trip, I swear to god sometimes they can be the most annoying racist shits ever. I am white passing, but I am latina and if you try hard enough you can tell and I swear to god I was at this uppity sephora and the manager and 2 sa’s followed me around, legit isle to isle just staring with their arms crossed. If this happens, don’t even try I think I only got some lipsticks on that trip it was horrible. But do not ever be rude to them, that will make you memorable and you do not want that. If you are approached be nice, if asked if you need help, say I am looking for -insert vague item here- and I think I found it I am just comparing, or No thank you I am gift shopping and know what they want, ect. Do not ever say anything that will make them want to help you because they will just drag you around forever and waste not only your time, but if you already looked at a product because they showed you then go back to it later its weird. Also I know everyone says “If they offer you a basket they are on to you” but thats just not true all the time. It is literally part of their job to be helpful and that is considered being helpful. Pay attention to their tone and body language if they do hand you one, but most of all watch to see if any other SA’s are watching you. The little shopping totes can be quite useful at times too, for having decoys on top and whatnot. If you are ever recognized and you are in a different disguise, Immediately play dumb and leave like 5 mins later and don’t go back for at least 3 months. It happens, it is fine and no reason to freak out. Sephoras inside a JCP are not impenetrable, but please use this as a last resort. Wear long sleeves, in trend. I have a long black sweater with ties around the wrist and the sweater hangs over my hands, this is perfect for this kind of store. Hold your phone in one hand, and find an item, hold it with your phone, and detag the rfid strips with your thumb, but don’t look like an idiot just standing there fidgeting, keep browsing, testing products, moving around. Moving around make it harder for any lp to follow you or see what you are doing. act calm, act natural. 

ULTA - This is pretty tricky. Pay attention to your state laws first and foremost. Ulta will ignore policey and chase you/grab you/ get your plate/ block your car if they know you stole or REMEMBER you from a previous visit. Park FAR FAR away. The LM boxes ( white boxes that are light sensitive) are basically just stickers. Unless you have an inside person at an ulta, the only 2 ways around these are taking the item out of the box that the LM is on and putting the empty box back, or coming on shipment day before they are all tagged and everything is out in carts. Ulta’s difficulty can range from location to location, some don’t use LM on every palette, some do, some only use them on perfume. The RFID’s that are found on most other makeup product can be either peeled off or cut with your exacto knife. hair care and skin care have never had tags in my experience, but always check. Ulta has pretty shitt cams but still try not to conceal on them, they do have a million blind spots, use them. Always have decoys. This is different than my sephora technique because I conceal all at once and usually leave, so I get decoys to make it seem like I am still carry the items. I honestly hate going to ulta, but I have figured out the safest times to go is ( for me, this might not be for everyone)  either Sundays around 4:30-5, shipping days, or fridays from 6-7. Ulta rearranges their stores quite frequently, if you happen to go on a day like this you are in luck! lots on blindspots and boxes stack high and random shelving units. 

Starbucks- Usually only one or 2 cameras, sometimes none. I have 3 that have none that i frequent for snacks and cups. Just make sure a customer doesn’t see you and its easy as shit. 

MALLS- This is probably where most everyone does lifting, so I am going to make a post about rules for malls. ALL MY OTHER RULES APPLY STILL. Go to the bathroom 2 or 3 times during your visit. Never take anything out of the packaging. If you beep, keep walking at a normal pace. Always carry a reusable shopping bag ( even 2 if you plan to lift a lot ) it is not suspicious and is an easy access quick conceal. If you don’t have one, go to some store like hot topic, box lunch, forever 21, aerie, and just ask for a bag. Make sure its not see through and big enough to carry what you want but not obnoxious. As for the whole in the side of the bag concealing method, cut a hole in the side of paper bags to slide things in, while this is a great tip PLEASE use your exacto knife to cut the slit, and make sure whatever bag you are using is not white. If you try to use scissors, the cut will be way to noticeable. Cut exactly where the crease is naturally in the bag. Only use this for small items, like lipsticks, hair pieces, jewelry, ect or you can risk ripping your bag and then you are fucked. Make the cut towards to top of the bag, so when you hold it closed its virtually unnoticeable and the weight of the items in your bag won’t cause continuous ripping of your slit. ALWAYS be friendly to SA’s. I legit just make small talk about how their day is and retail sucks and share  a bit about myself, it makes you WAY less suspicious because you come off as an honest, nice person. This is KEY in smaller stores, IE zumies, HT, Aerie, whatever. BE NICE. RELATE. ALL SA’s ARE DOING IS THEIR JOB DON’T BE A DICK. I also sometimes have one earbud in listening to music and lightly singing it helps deter the SA approach.

HOT TOPIC- Literally the easiest thing in the world. you can pick up items you want, if they have a tag hold them under your arm (the one with the magnet) while continuing to look at other things and hide the magnet in whatever you were looking at. Rinse and repeat. 

ZUMIES- Tbh I stopped going here and like, cosmic and tilly’s when I was like 16 so I can’t really give too much info besides I believe the one I did go into had massive blind spots, you don’t need the fitting rooms to conceal if you are kind to the SA. They will leave you alone after that. 

ClAIRE’S/ICING- like, idk this is so dumb just dump whatever you want in your bag avoid mirrors and pay attention to the SA. If they are giving a piercing its a free for all. Overall SA’s here really do not care and are either swamped with paperwork or overwhelmed because its only them in the store with 16 kids or 15 teenagers. I feel for them. 

VS/PINK- OK long awaited post about this shit company. I feel zero regret stealing from them. I am going to copy paste my previous reply with added detail. For VS, you have to see if its busy or slow. If it’s busy, I usually get a tote and get about 7 items (not including panties) but only steal 3 and only some undies in the fitting rooms and listen for no SA to be outside when you exit and just leave the tote in the little tote/rack thing. If its slow you can find blind spots in the store and remove the pencil tags easily if you carry your magnet like I do (in your bra strap that goes around your body) just holding it under your arm while looking at another item or w/e and just hide the tags as you go, or as always throw them away in the trash cans in the fitting rooms. Trash cans can also be found in the store, so use them as well. If you want something with a hanger, either take the hanger with you and ditch it somewhere else (or keep it like I do they are so soft) or find something to switch it out with. Most of the time they will have hanging items, and folded items of the same design and I tend to grab those. 2 I got today didn’t even have tags on them. VS and PINK are both a giant question mark until you get to the store on how much you can get away with or if you can get anything. This store is where the reusable totes come in most handy, and use your rubber bangs to make bulky clothing less bulky. If you are using a tote they provide, you can put perfumes/makeup/socks/sandals/ w/e in them and hide hem under clothes if you want them. a good bulky distracting item to get is a robe ( even the velvet/satin ones in the VS section are good), because it covers SO much and most sa’s assume that plus like 1 or 2 things is all you have. Also vs and pink all have blind spots in the store, the legging racks, VS sport, and the little walkways between sections are ones I have noticed. Good places to conceal if you don’t want to rick fitting rooms because if the SA is in a super duper mood fitting rooms can be somewhat difficult.

BEST BUY- So its not impenetrable but it is hard. The person at the front is the “main” AP (asset protection) and they have monitors that cover most of the store. Be nice to them, seem normal, and it will make it easier. I have someone in bb so its easier for me to get things but either way its not impossible since I have lifted from them before I knew my guy. Least monitored sections are housewares, and believe it or not TVS. I am going off my stores so take all this with a grain of salt. Best buy marks up ALL their products ridiculous amounts (1 year rosetta stone is bought for $15 and sold for $120) so yeah they are kinda dicks. If you DO chance it with best buy, so for small items, grab a distraction, shop around for a blind spot, conceal the small item, and go back to where you got your big item and compare again. Do not leave asap, shop around, then always say have a nice day on your way out. Be careful each store is different. here is a story : there is a best buy near me that used to have a HUGE shrink rate, for ALL kinds of theft, orc, employee, petty, you name it and it happened there. UNTIL a new GM was hired and he was like no this is not happening and installed a completely new camera system, it was very very expensive but guess what, they now catch everyone who tries to steal and have the lowest shrink rate in the state. If you abuse your spots, they will fight back so don’t ever ever ever take some memorable amount or this will  happen.

Target- I rarely fuck with target because its where I get my medications so I can’t really help you here.

Aerie- On floor concealing is best, lots of displays to hide behind. no cameras ( at least at my location)  Always be aware of SA’s.They change their clothing often so if you see something you love I suggest getting it before its gone for good.

Forever 21- Honestly I rarely lift from here anymore. Most of it rips or falls apart, that includes clothing and accessories. I don’t recommend them at all. If you MUST fitting room is best option, there are decent blind spots but it is usually too crowded to use them. Honestly I hate this company and everything about them so even stealing from them feel so so wrong. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

BOX LUNCH -  MY FAVORITE! I actually try to buy here when I can, they have great bags for the slit method, and their products are AMAZING. They actually sell nendoroids like omg. Best store ever, no cameras, but SA’s can be aggressive, just be nice, relate, and they will move on. Not much is tagged, and if it is just use the method mention for HT.

CVS/WALGREENS- Easy as pie. I always go here for drinks, shipping supplies, food, whatever. Their cameras are extremely shitty except for the ones up front.You can use your body to block is necessary. Both stores have MASSIVE blind spots, in seasonal, grocery, drinks, toiletries. Like is so easy to get vitamins and shit please get some be healthy. 

PACSUN- I don’t really like much here, but sometimes they have golden pieces. I always use fitting rooms, bring 4 items and leave 3. they are just such a bare store I cant feel good going in with a ton and leaving with a little. You will need rubber bands and to detag while the music plays. 

 BnN/BAM!- AMAZING novelty items and books are easy, just find blind spots. I adore these stores because of the increase of certified japanese figure imports ( BTW I COLLECT PLASTIC BUTTS AMIAMI LOVE ME) 

Container Store- Cake, usually only 4 cameras, both of the ones I go to don’t have cameras in the bath storage.makeup storage isles so, literal ffa. 

Hallmark- No cameras, or one near the toys. Ffa.

DSW/PAYLESS- For dsw, I grab 4 or 5 boxes, 2 of which I want, go to an isle about 2 over from the closets camera, and make a huge mess sitting on one of the mirror chairs. I slide the shoes I want into my purse also sitting on the opposite side on the bench thing using other boxes to block the back angle and put all the paper back and all the boxes except ONE with the shoes in it back, walk around a bit more, then decide not to get them and leave them somewhere. never conceal in clearance, but feel free to look.  For payless, just pick an isle without a camera, or if they all have cameras sit on the thing with your back to the camera, stack boxes between your seat and the self to block its view, detag, move into purse.bag. and put lid on box and put box back. 

IKEA- So this is gonna be kinda sketchy. I have only done this twice, and I had a partner. So you shop like usual, pick little knick knacks for your cart and write item numbers down. now while your in the actual storage part, you can conceal some of the smaller items you picked out while looking for your right color item or whatever leaning in. To get the big items out, we walked to line, waited for a good 5 mins, then acted like we saw an open register further down. He went to get the car and I push the cart and just push it through the sales point and out the door, smiling at the receipt check holding a safeway receipt lmao. Honestly I have no full proof way for ikea but I do know they are more concerned with ORC and internal theft so thats where most the cameras are. I just really wanted my two alex drawers for my makeup vanity so I took a risk and it paid off.

WIGS STORES- if you do not live in a large city, I Highly suggest ordering a high quality lace front wig online. If you live in a city with good chain wig stores, bring a big bag, and just stuff that mother fucker in there in a blind spot. the main thing with wigs is care, so you will want to get wig care stuff, cleansers brushes, ect. specifically made for wigs. 

🌸 For anything designer ( Kate spade, MK, Calvin klein) Go to outlets if possible, if not try to find a macy’s/bloomingdales.lord&taylor/whatever that doesn’t do that stupid string lock bullshit. bring a magnet.

here’s my method for concealing if anyone is interested & I’m using a f21 bag

• start by picking up two of the same item (one decoy one you are going to lift)

• put one in your hand that is on the side with your bag

• while your other hand is holding the decoy, (you can put it back or if u wanna be rly sneaky grab another one so you can have two again and then put both back later) palm the item and slip it in ur bag in between the handle

hope this is clear and tell me if I need to work on it! (sorry it’s so dark my bathroom lighting is terrible)

GREAT POST!!!! this is one of my favorite ways to lift small make up items and it’s even better if you drape a jacket or outerwear over your arm while you do it so it’s even more hidden!

i don’t think anyone’s done a video like this before but!! this is a good method!! basically you take a jacket that either already had a layer inside or you put a hoodie inside of a jacket and rubber-band an arm on the inside layer shut and then use that arm to conceal!! I CONCEALED VERY OBVIOUSLY IN THIS TO DEMONSTRATE HOW YOUD DO IT!! the more things you put in the more full it could look/more noise it will make so move carefully!! if you want to conceal something larger (a soda can, etc.) put it in first so it slides in noiselessly. i got the idea from someone but i forgot who, i’ll tag them though!!
