Katsuki was always loud and physical about his resentment…insecurities and inferiority overflowing out of him and taking the shape of anger.

Izuku, I believe, was more quiet about it. Like he obviously resented and hated when Katsuki bullied him, but never outright says it out loud. You can see it in his face in the very first episode, when Katsuki tells him to swan dive off a roof.

He has that anger, but just couldn’t express it due to his lack of confidence at the time.

We don’t see him acknowledging his hatred about how mean Katsuki can be until Deku vs Kacchan 2, and even then, it’s his internal dialogue. (“…You’re so mean sometimes, and I hate it…”)

So twisted and rotten, what a complicated bond that is just so good to witness.

for a few months after Izuku started using the suit more, he notices that katsuki started mother henning him whenever they’re on patrol together, and there’s a lull in their time.

they stop on a rooftop somewhere and katsuki immediately starts looking over the mechanics on izuku’s suit.

as if he made the schematics himself, he checks the rotation of his arms, the cooling systems on his legs and boots, the grip of his gloves, and the fit of his chest plate.

and izuku gets flustered at the close proximity, silently enjoying katsuki’s serious expression everytime. Being the receiving end of Katsuki’s care (Izuku knows that this is care) resurfaces age-old feelings, and it makes him so hyperaware of every touch and sweep Kacchan’s fingers makes over his suit.

Izuku does eventually ask Katsuki in the middle of routine inspection, about why he needed to do this every-time.

Shoto had joined them this time, and as he chugs his water beside them, he wonders the same.

Izuku would know himself if there’s a problem with the suit, he can inspect it himself, he’s wearing it!

Katsuki responds in a way that is so direct that Izuku can still feel it roll up his spine.

“I need to be sure you’re protected.” He told him, like it was obvious, like it was a given.

And Izuku doesn’t know why that admittance shook him, or gets him so teary eyed. Because of course Katsuki wants to make sure he’s protected, of course he wants to know that the suit keeps him safe, they’re friends, and Katsuki cares about him.

He hears Katsuki bark at something Shoto say in response, but Izuku was too busy wiping the tears away from his eyes. The magnitude of those feelings overflowed onto Izuku, filling his heart, and he quickly composes himself just as they get an alert.

Shoto had leapt into action seconds before he and Katsuki did, jumping down the ledge into an ice ramp. Just as Izuku was about to do the same, Katsuki pulls him back a little to face him.

“I didn’t wanna say this in front of IcyHot, but…I do it for my own sanity most of the time.” Izuku blinks at the furrowed and shy expression on Katsuki’s face. Izuku can feel the warmth of Katsuki’s palm on his wrist, it makes his stomach flutter.

“I love you, so I don’t want to loose you.” The butterflies explode into a swarm. Floored by Katsuki’s honest confession, and the adorably angry way he looks away (like he’s pissed he said that out loud), Izuku forgets to speak.

Katsuki must’ve felt awkward, because two seconds after that he uncharacteristically, and stiffly pats Izuku’s shoulder and says, “Okay. Bye.”

Izuku scrambles at Katsuki blasting away, calling after him, “Wait! Kacchan you can’t just run away after dropping that on me!”

“FUCK OFF! I’M NOT RUNNING AWAY, THERE’S A FIGHT IDIOT!”

“OKAY BUT—“ Izuku gets in the air. and chases after him. “WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS WHEN WE’RE DONE!”

“NO WE’RE NOT!”

“YOU ARE RUNNING AWAY!”

“SHUT UP!”

“Done with your lover’s spat?” Shoto smirks at them when they finally get to the scene. Izuku clears his throat, and Katsuki tells him to shut up, and they make quick work.

It’s flawless.

And the minute the fight ends, Izuku’s blackwhip shoots out of his gloves, and captures a “getting ready to blast-off” Katsuki.

Shoto watches the two ridiculously do whatever they’re doing, on the sidelines with on looking citizens, while eating a protein bar.

Most of the time, Dynamight’s internet presence is filled with scathing remarks.

Older generations tend to criticize him for his crassness, the working adult demographic have a weird passive aggressive attitude towards him, and the younger ones just LOVE to turn his face into memes.

But then, one day, a fangirl posts a particularly beautiful shot of him after a battle with the caption “Guys, hear me out with Dynamight,” and suddenly, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight is the HeroNet’s “Golden Boy.”

Dynamight doesn’t have social media anywhere. Katsuki finds it boring, and distracting, and aside from the one All Might fan account he made (that he forgot the password to), he basically just lives in Youtube.

So when Mina slides up to him during their monthly class hangout—fuchsia phone with the brightness cranked all the way up, inches away from his face—his first words were, “What the hell am I looking at?”

Izuku, who has been comfortably latched right under Katsuki’s arm, takes a sip of his beer and faces the phone towards him to read the content. He chuckles quietly and further situates himself into Katsuki, “The internet wants you, Kacchan.”

“Want me? Like dead?” Katsuki furrows his brow, while Mina guffaws.

“No, Bakubabe, they WANT want you!”

“I don’t know what the fuck that means!?” Katsuki gets frustrated at the round about way Izuku and Mina were explaining it.

“They are sexually attracted to you, Bakugo.” Shoto pipes up in front of him, while knee deep in his third serving of cold soba.

“Because of my hero work?”

Shoto only shakes his head a “No.”

“The hell, then what for?” Katsuki begins to play with a lock of Izuku’s hair, while the man continues to read the content on Mina’s phone.

“They saw your charm~” Mina singsongs. “Which is already a challenge to see, so that’s impressive for them!” At this, Katsuki gives Mina a scorching glare at her backhanded compliment.

“Well, you know the internet, Bakugo! They love the duality of things. An unconventional personality on a pretty body, is basically the blueprint to become the internet’s next Sexy Man! Pass the chicken please Sho!” Ochako quips next to Shoto, and looks at Katsuki’s curious expression. She places a couple pieces onto her plate, and a couple more on Tsu’s plate, then points her chopsticks at the blond, “You fit that to a T! It’s good press to be honest! Maybe you can finally get out of your PR nightmare reputation with this!”

“I don’t want extras thirsting over me!” Katsuki scoffs while Ochako playfully rolls her eyes and starts a conversation with Tsu instead.

Izuku snorts next to him, which naturally catches his attention. “What’s so funny, Nerd?”

“@/dynasbigtoe says, ‘srry yall my man is busy earning for me and our kids so hes not on much. but i promise that i feed him a healthy breakfast of sausage and eggs every day’ Psh. Please…they dont even know you dont even like sausages…”

The table momentarily grows silent at that, while Katsuki grins and pushes the phone out of Izuku’s line of sight. Mina shakes her head at what was coming, Shoto finishes his soba bowl, and Ochako quietly groans. “You jealous of my fans? Maybe there is a benefit to this…”

“Not jealous! They’re all probably really young and just having fun, but I just find some comments funny at how inaccurate they are! Totally normal thing!” Izuku begins to pull himself out of Katsuki’s grasp, but Katsuki raises his other arm to keep him locked into an embrace.

“Of course they’re inaccurate dumbass, they don’t know me like you do, right?” He tilts his head teasingly and mockingly, clocking the undertone in Izuku’s words.

“…Right.” Izuku narrows his eyes and settles back into Katsuki’s hold. He sips on his beer once more, a tinge of red on his ears, while Katsuki quietly laughs into the crook of Izuku’s neck.

Mina sighs and pockets her phone, “Of course, it always ends like this!”

The following day, Dynamight opens his new official account with one post:

“You all gotta beat Deku first before you can even get into my pants, and even then, I’m right next to him, helping him out.”

when Touya Todoroki passed, Class A each took turns hanging out with Shoto.
