something that Gets Me about this season is its unintentional messaging. the entire season we've had people speculating that the line outside the doors in the Old World was to take them to use them for light harvesting, formulating whole theories about Resh and his connection to the death of the land and peoples based on a few features of the landscape + behavior of the population. and then you finish the season and get to the area that you can only access by paying money, and it's a garden. a light garden. they've been trying to heal people the whole time and only people who pay money (and their direct friends) get to know it. much like the people who were waiting to be let in (presumably) did not know what they were being let in For
