Post-war universe where Mika is turned back into a human, but is really weak. He can't eat much because of years of not eating, and whenever he does eat, he throws it up. When Mika throws up into the toilet, Yuu pulls his hair out of his face and rubs his back. He's worried SICK. Any headcanons about how he would make Mika feel better, both mentaly and physically? (Let's say Mika is asexual)

- Yuu ABSOLUTELY worked his butt off to help Mika get his humanity back but he wasn’t prepared for this horrible sickness that comes afterwards

- Mika probably spends a lot of time just resting in bed, so Yuu raids the store for the softest blankets and pillows they have to offer

- every time he comes home, Yuu brings Mika some random gift to cheer him up, whether it be a new book or a box of chocolates or some pretty flower he plucked off the side of the road, just because it reminded him of Mika’s eyes, hair, etc.

- Yuu nags Kimizuki to teach him to cook so Mika can always have his favorite foods when he feels like he can eat

- just because Mika’s sick doesn’t mean he can’t experience living!! Yuu brings the human experience to him. one time Mika wanted to go see a concert and was sad because he wasn’t strong enough to go. Yuu fucking convinced the band to set up in the front lawn outside Mika’s bedroom window.

- hot tea. always hot tea. Mika really loves to feel it going down his throat and warming his belly. Yuu really loves indulging him. ‘nuff said.

- Mika isn’t about to let all this kindness sweep past him tho. he totally pampers Yuu with kisses and cuddles and i love you’s all the damn time

- he probably picks up a ton of hobbies from having to rest all day. if he draws, he’ll draw Yuu’s favorite things and people. if he writes, he’ll write poems about Yuu. if he knits, you damn well know Mika’s making Yuu a fucking scarf for when the weather turns cold

- whenever Mika feels really awful, Yuu is always there to offer his support and his love

- Yuu probably knows the names and purposes of all of Mika’s medications better than Mika does

- whenever he sees Yuu’s panic and worry over him, Mika becomes even more determined to get better and pay him back with enough smiles to overpower the frowns

- it’s rough but they get through it because they love and support each other

- Yuu: okay guys. operation welcome mika into the family is a go.Shinoa squad: We Signed Up To Kill Vampires, What The Fuck Is This Family Bullshit

- jokes aside tho. u have good taste anon.

- Mika staunchly does NOT want to play nice with these humans, no matter what Yuu says. no way is he accepting them as his new family, how ridiculous

- that is, until he sees Kimizuki about to get crushed by a horseman of john and Mika’s Nice Guy Instincts™kick in and he leaps to the rescue

- Kimizuki: huh. so you do have a heart under all that iceMika: i should have just let you die

- that prompts the squad to reach out a little more. Mitsuba tries to “help” cook dinner and deliberately pisses Kimizuki off so much that he storms off, giving her an excuse to run to Mika for help

- Mika: smart of you to ask for cooking tips from the guy who can’t eatMitsuba, raising an eyebrow: so you want Yuu to get food poisoning?Mika, knows he’s beaten: ……..just show me where the knives are.

- they manage to scrounge up enough ingredients for curry bc why not. Yuu is DELIGHTED. from then on Mika and Mitsu are stuck as cooking partners

- Yoichi and Shinoa team up to invite Mika on patrols with them! what better bonding activity exists than engaging in life-threatening combat against giant, man-hunting beasts? none, according to Shinoa

- the three of them make a surprisingly efficient team. upon spotting a horseman, Mika will go in for the first blow, followed by Shinoa, and then Yoichi will finish it off from afar

- Mika refuses to go on patrol with anyone else now because they’re all a bunch of fucking idiots. Shinoa and Yoichi are the only competent ones in his opinion

- Narumi doesn’t really like Mika, but Mika kind of sympathizes with the whole “i-lost-my-entire-family-at-once-and-watched-it-happen” thing

- sometimes his vampire hearing will catch Narumi crying from afar. Mika is too awkward to do anything so he just leaves him alone and makes sure nobody bothers him while he’s mourning

- if they find tissues or something while searching for supplies, Mika takes those and leaves them out for Narumi

- Yuu is, of course, pleased beyond belief to see his family getting along so well. he is, decidedly less pleased when the Ultimate Family Bonding Activity™turns out to be everyone collectively roasting him

- Mika: did you know that Yuu once mistook a lump of blankets as a vampire and tried to beat it up when we were childre-Yuu: Mika Shut The Fuck Up We Were Ten,

Yuu reached out and placed his hand on Mika’s cheek, turning his face toward him. Mika stared at him with round, unblinking eyes. Yuu gave him a dazzling smile. “You’re not a mess, Mika. You just needed time, and that’s okay. Your friends will forgive you.” Yuu’s lips curved into Mika’s favorite smile. “I know because they are my friends, too.”

Mika’s face grew warmer beneath Yuu’s hand. He worked hard to control his breathing and his blush, and he fought not to lean against Yuu’s touch. It was such a comforting gesture, and he could almost feel every worry leaving him through Yuu’s soft, warm palm. Yuu’s smile tore free the fluttering in his chest, and he couldn’t help but close his eyes and revel in the moment. “Thank you, Yuu-chan,” he breathed.

Yuu felt his face growing warm at Mika’s reaction as well and cleared his throat, removing his hand quickly, though he couldn’t shake the feeling of Mika’s lovely skin on his fingertips. Mika blinked open his eyes at the loss of Yuu’s hand. This is bad, Yuu. Think of something to say before you do something embarrassing or stupid.
