Madzie has a certain charm to her, but that doesn’t prevent him from worrying. “We aren’t trying to start a war.” Valentine and whoever had kept him from entering Idris might be, but it was a shadowhunter problem. Downworlder groups handled their problems internally, they need to be able to manage the same - even for someone who wants to create waves of death throughout the world.

MAGNUS:

he almost stops to tell alec that he didn’t need to be gone for very long for magnus to want to explore the shadowhunter’s body like he was a particularly wonderful roadmap . he wanted to kiss and lick over every rune on the archer’s body and have alec bask in the feeling of being cherished . magnus almost protests when he’s pushed onto his back and he blinks up at alec for a moment , brows raised and head resting on a pillow . that is until alec kisses him and then magnus let’s his protest go in the place of kissing his boyfriend as if they didn’t need air to breathe .

wine lacquer nailed fingers ruck up the nephilim’s worn shirt and run over the warm skin beneath , tracing over alec’s stomach and around his sides to the archer’s back . kissing like this almost made him drunk on the very taste of alec , and magnus’ loved every moment of it .

An appreciative sound falls with his breath. A hand fumbles until he feels the muscular curve of Magnus’s arm, traveling down its path until he reaches his hand. Fingers lock themselves between his boyfriend’s, pushing it into the mattress to support his weight. Lips nibble at Magnus’s neck and between gentle kisses, he states, “You were missing an important spot.” And he was particularly impatient for it after being riled up with aggressive attention tracing along his deflect rune.

humming against alec’s skin , magnus’ lips curl upward in response to the moan that made its way unbidden from his boyfriend’s throat . it really was an innocent venture , making the decision to have a day in bed with alec . magnus had only wanted to cuddle and maybe have some lazy kissing somewhere in between but magnus was somewhat certain that he could find the time in that schedule to kiss alec’s skin until he was flushed and breathless . his lips follow the lines of the rune on alec’s neck , kissing his way over each line of the black mark , pulling the neck of his shirt aside to finish the venture . blowing softly on the skin , magnus hummed to himself in contemplation before speaking against alec’s neck . ❛ i’m going to kiss my way over every inch of you . ❜

His hand finds itself wrinkling the collar of Magnus’s shirt to keep from leaving red marks on his skin. “Magnus,” he groans. Alec unclenches his hand and blindly tries to flatten the wrinkled mess he is sure is there. He pulls himself from the mess his boyfriend has so quickly made of him, opening his eyes. “I haven’t been gone that long,” he pushes out between forced inhales. He clears his throat, “Not that I mind, it’s just ...” he lets it hang. Terrible response to someone who practically said they wanted to devour you.

He pushes Magnus’s flat on his back on the mattress. The archer hovers just over him and lingers as the knots and butterflies in his gut feel less overwhelming. Alec captures his boyfriend’s lips with his, letting it linger until his lungs scream for air.
